Legia looming

847

Celtic have played four games against Polish opposition, losing to Legia Warsaw and Wisla Crakow in 2006 friendlies, drawing thanks to a very late Kenny Dalglish goal against Wislaw, before losing the return game. We’re going to need to break new ground if we’re to reach the Champions League play-off round.

As I predicted, you can ignore the 1-1 draw with St Pat’s last week, Legia are a far better team than that result suggested and it now looks like they have thrown off their summer slumber.

Time to hit form, Celtic.

Glad you mentioned that, it depends really, whether we use the English version. The Port is as you correctly state usually referred to as Pollensa whereas 5 kilometres away in the old town, it’s strictly Pollenca.

As a compromise in future I’ll refer to it with its proper original name which is Pollentia.

Murrayfield on Tuesday was a bit of an eye opener for me, Can’t be bad scoring 4 goals at what was literally an away game for us, the football was entertaining and we seem to be going the right way with the new manager, overall I was happy with the result.

Nice to see the green brigade there, and there was something I noticed that doesn’t happen at Celtic Park, no police among the green brigade, no cameras in their faces, it just looked like a noisy section that were treated like human beings for a change, something that the Celtic hierarchy need to note, treat the supporters with a bit of decorum, and the feeling will be reciprocated.

Pity that the police weren’t so lenient with the supporters after the game, at the Haymarket Station area all the bars were closed, Had there been trouble, I don’t know,.but when I arrived there you would have thought there had been a terrorist attack, or something similar, they were struggling to cope with a few hundred over exuberant supporters, An, away over the top reaction was to closing of all the bars in the Area, making the situation much worse than it should have been, there were dozens of police vans patrolling the area, anyway, I found A ceilergoneofrust, his son, and Desertbhoy,I enjoyed their company for an hour or so..

  27. The Battered Bunnet on

    From the BBC:

BSkyB is paying £4.9bn to take over Rupert Murdoch’s pay TV companies in Germany and Italy.

The move was announced along with the company’s annual results, which show pre-tax profits fell slightly to £1.2bn from last year’s £1.26bn.

BSkyB also reported revenues rose by 7%, with strong demand “across the board” for its services.

It said Sky Sports viewing share was at a seven-year high, boosted by the open race for the Premier League title.

Part of BSkyB – 39% – is owned by Rupert Murdoch’s 21st Century Fox. That company owns 100% of Sky Italia and 57% of Sky Germany.

Mr Murdoch wants to sell these to BSkyB to free up cash for 21st Century Fox, which is trying to buy media giant Time Warner, the company that owns Game of Thrones maker HBO and news business channel CNN.

BSkyB broadcasts to 10 million homes in the UK.

A combined Sky Europe would have 20 million customers.

The company hopes the new structure will save it £200m by the end of the second financial year with further savings to come.

BSkyB shares fell almost 4% on the news, as it means higher debt levels and a stop to its current practice of buying back shares.

It seems to me that if you express sympathy with the Palestinians,on this blog, some people automatically associate this with being anti-semitic. Sorry but for most of us this is not the case.

Also, I think that there might be a slight discepancy between the calibre of the missiles being used by the Palestinians and those used by the Israelis. Does my using a peashooter give you the excuse to retaliate with a 0.22 air rifle?

There is probably no absolute right and no absolute wrong in this conflict but it is without a doubt WRONG to kill innocent children and civilians
