Lessons learned from Friday experiment

828

After every experimental line-up (such as Friday’s), it’s tempting to ask what the manager learned from the experience.

The partnerships on the left and right wings didn’t look right.  Emilio Izaguirre didn’t overlap as often as usual and Stuart Armstrong was less effective than normal.  A lack of space impacted the James Forrest-Adam Matthews partnership on the right.  Forrest was manhandled until he switched left or got inside the box, when he was able to play unhindered.

Ineffectiveness on the wings led to the same up front.  Anthony Stokes doesn’t get to play centre forward too often and didn’t really get much of a chance on Friday.  Stokes anonymity was the most glaring aspect of the game but I suspect the responsibility lies elsewhere.

  3. I’m not having a dig at any single person in particular, not having a dig at anybody at all if the truth be known, but so often I read so many comments about how unfair the ‘Sky’ (and others) ‘football’ generated billions are spent and how gash the EPL really is.

    They are a constant.

    Constant.

How Scotland and her football folk are being mugged.

How Scottish kids are not being given the same opportunity as others from other countries.

How our game is a victim of the undue wealths’ showered on our nearest neighbours.

Then people post how gash a particular EPL game is that they are watching…

I’m away to pierce another dozen or so holes into my belt, and I’m on my second lap.

Bourne, I agree we should have an interest on what’s going on at Ibrox in the great foot and ball swindle.

The two clubs that have played out of Ibrox have had very few sanctions for the crap both entities have inflicted on our national game ably supported by the SFA, SPFL, the media and legal bodies ignoring both clubs operating while insolvent.

Despite information freely available to some of our overrseas support , they are not having to deal daily with the lack of application of football’s and business rules at Ibrox.

It was someone on on Celtic Underground or Etims twitter who pointed out, a few months back, the big wrought iron gates at the corners of Ibrox have Rangers Football Club Ltd on them. Could be too obvious a clue for the media to miss about the liquidated club/company being one and the same.

Why post that comment on here on Easter Sunday?

    Very disrespectful. Poor show.

How insensitive was that? If you’re not having a great day, does it get any better for you when you – intentionally – with forethought – and possibly malice – disrespect the soul and belief of others.

that comment will have upset many on here – yes you have the right not to believe in God as many on here – but today of all days.

    Really disappointed

Why haven’t the posters that complain about Celtic fans posting about the big lie, never found another Celtic blog?

  17. Ok folks, my original comment was a joke around pheonixing. I’ll admit that was not in best of tastes given the date. Apologies to anyone who feels offended.

The second comment was an answer to a direct question that asked me for my view, and so I gave it. Can’t see what else I could have done apart form ignore it.

Why on a day that most on here celebrate a special day, you find time to make a derogatory comment is beyond belief… Huns/ trolls or just downright ignorant…get a life or get on a hun site, I’m sure you will be more than welcome.

My faith is weak in comparison with others, here and elsewhere. And your opinion is as valid as any other. But,there’s that word faith.

That is what it boils down to. Faith does not require absolute proof.

Btw,there is no evidence for the existence of the like of Dionysus, etc, but plenty about the existence of Christ. You may consider them all to be myths, and you may be right. But you do a disservice by treating them all the same.

IMO,of course. Your beliefs are your own,as are mine.

Your response to my question regards Easter would have been better reflecting your latter post about a mistimed joke.

I’m sure you don’t approve of jokes about other religions, physical / mental health , colour of skin , nationality etc

  21. I know this is an open site which welcomes posters who wish to air their views on any topic, but I think it’s totally disrespectful to insult peoples religious beliefs.

Some have the gift of faith, others don’t. No need to mock those whose views differ from your own, especially today, which is the holiest day in the calendar for many.

  23. TBJ says Wee Oscar Knox is in heaven with the angels,

Fair point, I could have expressed that better.

But, in general, I do think there is a big difference between jokes about physical characteristics, many of which rely on on unflattering stereotypes, and those about belief systems (religious, political or otherwise). Still, maybe a discussion for another day.

  24. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Bourne, working with fans of other premier league clubs seem to have very little interest in what sevco and their ancestors have got up to.

One said Rangers had been punished enough.

I tried to explain what D Murray had been upto on and off the park but the guy just shrugged his shoulders and said that’s in the past.

Its a wee bit annoying that we as a support seem to be the ones who want the truth most. I know a few Dundee Utd fans through work and they have liitle interest in getting the truth and still call Sevco, Rangers .

  25. bournesouprecipe:

That’s not a lie, did they not teach you about zombies in the school you went to?

    On a separate…

I haven’t had a great deal of opportunity to get on often and a few days ago I asked just how much the… the… for clarity let’s just refer to them as the new huns, I asked just how much in debt they really are.

I ignored their accounts, just like their auditors and late nomads did but this is a back of a fag packet count.

They had a share issue for 22 million and squandered it without adding value to the entity, for the want of any better word.

They lost 18 big ones in their first year of operation.

They lost 10 more big ones in their second year of operation whilst servicing the debt of their 18 big ones from their first year of operation.

In their 3rd year of operation the lost circa 3 million in the first 6 months and are on course to repeat circa the results of their second year in operation.

So 18+10+10 + the interest and servicing associated with their many loans… when you total it all up (with objectivity) how much are the new huns in hock for?
