Lessons learned from Friday experiment

After every experimental line-up (such as Friday’s), it’s tempting to ask what the manager learned from the experience.

The partnerships on the left and right wings didn’t look right.  Emilio Izaguirre didn’t overlap as often as usual and Stuart Armstrong was less effective than normal.  A lack of space impacted the James Forrest-Adam Matthews partnership on the right.  Forrest was manhandled until he switched left or got inside the box, when he was able to play unhindered.

Ineffectiveness on the wings led to the same up front.  Anthony Stokes doesn’t get to play centre forward too often and didn’t really get much of a chance on Friday.  Stokes anonymity was the most glaring aspect of the game but I suspect the responsibility lies elsewhere.

    Roy C, lovely pic of Harry Hood, first Celt I ever met, at St Mary’s primary school in Bathgate on the Gala Day. Signed my autograph book and got a photo taken as well, both since lost in the mists of time but I still remember the excitement – the awe -at meeting one of my heroes, a man who had scored for the Celtic!

     

     

    He had a right keeker that day as well, wonder who gave him that.

    Mate, I sort of know Gordon_J from old, and from what he did, without fanfare, at the very beginning for Kano. I don’t forget that. I don’t confuse that. I know he is one of the good guys and I hope he thinks kind for me too, but RESPECT mate takes a lifetime to learn to perfection yet is an ART that we are all able to, from the day we take our very first step, only to fall down.

    I am jealous of those who can walk into a book shop and a choon store.I am even more jealous of those with access to second hand book shops and second hand choon shops.I am jealous of those who can meet for a curry or a King Prawn Chilli and Salt..I am jealous of those who can drive somewhere and see Puffins..

    Am I alone in using roasted and toasted interchangeably when referring to melted cheese on toast?

     

     

    There must be a middle way that won’t tear us,all apart.

     

     

    Mind you when I first stayed with my wife’s family and her ma handed me melted cheese on bread that had not been toasted on the reverse side before melting the cheese on the non toasted side I did consider whether or not I could make the relationship work.

     

     

    I stayed and have since educated them but it was a long difficult road.
