Derek Adams propensity to waste time and then complain about time being added on should not obscure the fact that he is a remarkably productive football manager. Ross County, from Dingwall, population 5,000, are sitting fourth in the SPL and remain in touching distance of a place in Europe. No need to highlight their Scottish Cup campaign in 2010.
It is, therefore, no surprise that Aberdeen have asked Ross County for permission to speak to him. On the face of it, Aberdeen should fancy their chances of recruiting Adams but County are confident for a reason. SPL, and in Owen Coyle’s case First Division, managers have been recruited by well-paying English clubs at levels the likes of Aberdeen cannot compete with. County chairman, Roy McGregor, is likely to advise Adams to hold off for a more lucrative move south.
When Jimmy Calderwood left Dunfermline for Aberdeen in 2004 chairmen John Yorkston explained his surprise at Calderwood heading north, explaining that he believed one day Calderwood would move to Ibrox. Aberdeen proved to be a plateau for Calderwood, as it has been for most over the last couple of decades.
If they don’t get Adams chances are they will go back to Motherwell; back-to-back second place finishes are exactly what is needed at Pittodrie right now.
Best of luck to Gordon Strachan on his first competitive game as Scotland manager tonight.

Missed the ‘Tommy from Glasgow’ scenario …. Can anyone enlighten me, please…?

If your on the blog – got an idea for the CQN Mag if you are doing something to commemorate Seville 2003 (you can get my email from P67).
Was talking to an Architect today who was one of a number of then Asian Students (their football team played at CP) who featured in an article in the Celtic View at the time of Seville. He got nicknamed ‘Rab Douglas’ (he still plays 5-asides in goal).
They met the players and he played keepy-up with MON.
Evening Bhoys & Ghirls
This Saturday afternoon through to Sunday evening on CQN, we will be delighted to be offering you the chance to win a fantastic and very unique auction prize.
We have been donated a very special bottle of 8 year old Bowmore, which has come straight from the cask. The Whisky is 59.4%, unlike a normal malt whisky which is cut to 40% proof.
The whisky was distilled on 13 March 2001, and bottled on 26 June 2009.
The bottle has been donated by a very kind CQNer. However, not content with already donating 3 bottles from his share of the cask to raise funds for Wee Oscar , we now have his prized possession:
Bottle no 1 of 251
A very special prize in aid of a very special wee bhoy
Go on take a peek of what you could win!

We need to ‘major’ on this ……….. The cover is slipping …….reality dawns………hahahahaha
The Herald top 100 is a complete joke. McGrory should be number 1, he’s one of the greatest goal scorers in the history of international football. And Tommy Gemmell at number 33, behind Jardine at 19? They are shameless.
The Huns are trying to manufacture a dispute with Sandaza where none exists
They are paying him too much , he’s not performing and is often injured
IMO they will try to dismiss him ….despicable
Chuckles has offered a bounty for the person who outs the TFG ! I’m prepared to offer a mars bar snickers picnic and a walnut whip for SILENCE !! I am a Tommy fae Glasgow !!!!

Thinking… surely he didnt answer a call from a private number ….
I’m Glasgow from Tommy that’l confuse them
Dee ell slated tommy … demanded he is grassed up
Next minute he is saying he received dozens of calls from zombies wanting to pass on ian blacks number…
Cue mucho laughter from the ssb comedy club
So gordy is funny but tommy aint …. aye right
Don’t read the Herald these days but I feel sair affronted that Greig should rank in any list of football players, never mind 8th in all time Scots. He was a thug, pure and simple. Now Baxter…there was a real footballer.
Is the Scotland game on the telly tonight? if so what channel?
Fran Sandanza is on a bare week now just have to get by on four and a half grand this week son ! SHAMEFUL TFG ! DL !! causing this boy financial hardship eh !!!

Even leaving aside Celtic players, I’d have both Hansen and Miller ahead of Greig and Jardine.

Charlie Adam at left back, according to Roddy Forsyth, which will put him up against Gareth Bale. Adam came across very well as a studio commentator for the Scottish League Cup Final, but him and Bale are not exactly buddies, following Adam’s time at Liverpool. With Croatia winning and Belgium likely to, even a win would leave Scotland ten points behind with five games to play. France 2016 anyone?
Unexpectedly, I have an empty tonight. Bhoy gone camping, wife gone AWOL to MiL’s
Anyone got a decent sausage for Scotland game? The linky posted earlier for you-tube was great quality. Something similar would be great. TIA
PS. I’m gonna need a bigger fridge! :-)
keevins and deedell resort to disgusting sarcasm …….accuse caller of taking a cheap shot, then proceed to take a cheap shot at him, just because he was right, and proved keevins wrong…… Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Is that the same Charlie Adam that didnt chase bale back on the last game?
Enjoy the game Bhoys, although I know not everyone on here is particularly bothered.
My attitude to international football is pretty simple – I’m Scottish, I love football, so I support the team. Having Gordon in charge is a wee bonus. But I supported them just as much under all other managers.
That’s all.
Jobo
Wales danger men tonight will be Gareth Bale, Craig Bellamy & Gary Caldwell
Oh, aye, another thing, I hope Joe has a stinker, just for tonight obviously!
Tonight will decide one thing…who is the Hampden jinx, Mulgrew or Ledley?

Would the fact that she was a minister automatically mean that she was in the Cabinet?’
No.
But her being Minster for rural affairs and the environment would. Which she was, in 2004. If you’re in any doubt, check the BBC’s “Who’s in the Cabinet?” for 2003.
She was also deputy leader for several years – which saw her lead the party on various occassions when the defacto leader was unavailable (Jim Swinney). Hardly the positions a party with entrenched sectarian values would entrust “the enemy”.
