NEW BHOY MORGAN IS SCOTS’ SAVIOUR

CELTIC new Bhoy Lewis Morgan spared Scotland’s blushes as the Under-21s fought back to gain a 1-1 draw against Andorra in their European Championship qualifier last night.

The Hoops winger, loaned back to St Mirren after the January deal, scored in stoppage time after Jason Kerr had earlier given away a penalty on his debut in Andorra la Vella.

Scot Gemmill’s youngsters struggled at the Estadi Comunal on a pitch that was rutted and in poor condition.

Morgan almost got the opener when he drifted inside before curling a dipping effort just over the top.

The hosts, who have yet to win a game in the group, took the lead with a well-taken spot-kick from Ricardo Fernandez who had been fouled in the area by Kerr in the 77th minute.

However, Morgan claimed the last-gasp leveller, but the Scots have now gone three ties without a win.

They are third in the table and have played a game more than second-placed Holland with both nations on eight points.

England lead the section with 13 points from five games.
