No to Newco Day

342

Despite of the most intense lobbying and doomsday predicting from chief executive, Neil Doncaster, SPL clubs have “overwhelmingly” voted ‘No to Newco’, finally rejecting the bid by one of Charles Green’s Sevco companies to form a team and gain access to the SPL.

This is the conclusion of what only last month looked like an unlikely grass-roots campaign which left several reluctant clubs with little choice but to accept the wishes of their supporters.

Neil Doncaster’s position is compromised after his ‘there is little difference between a CVA and liquidation’ campaign, as he contorted to win support for new rules which would make it easier for him to meet revenue targets.

The right conclusion has been reached.  Well done to all.

  3. Come on who voted yes and who voted no?

Those who voted no (I predict 1 team other than an old football club – Killie!) are going to be boycotted by the Celtic faithful next season I assume!

No to any Newco that doesn’t have to get down on its knees and beg to be allowed to start again by beginning at the very ,very bottom.

Rod Petrie is being unfairly characterised on CQN IMO.

I have it on A1excellent authority that RP was a driving force in the SPL ‘say NO’ chairmen discussions.

In fact I posted this the day before clubs started to come out publically declaring NO.

    Trust me on this..

11-1 defeat , the kind of result Newco may become accustomed to…

  10. So how did the voting go?

Was it 11 no to 1 yes?

If it was more than 1 yes I think Ally McCoist should demand to know who these people are.

The MSM will go into overdrive now for next week’s vote to convinve the SFL Chairmen that Division 1 is the only answer now, lets see what that brings.

Good to be a Celtic supporter anyday of the week but American Independence Day will furthermore always be known in future as No to Newco Day!

    Hail Hail!
