Operation relieve the gullible of £411 each underway

“My father wasn’t at all keen on me becoming a Rangers supporter.  He was a Glasgow policeman and because of that he resented the whole football scene in Glasgow.  ‘He was actually very anti-football.  When we were kids growing up he was very vocal on his dislike of the bigotry in football.  The police in Glasgow at that time saw it as a basis for thuggery.

“My father took me to that first game reluctantly…”

Dave King, shooting the breeze with the Daily Mail in March last year.

“Like all of you who read this letter, I have always taken pride in being a Rangers supporter. It is something I inherited from my father who, in turn, inherited the legacy from my grandfather. This is what Rangers fans do. We pass on our pride and belief in Rangers to our children.”

Dave King’s letter to the season ticket marketing database last week.

One of the two statements is probably true, although with Dave, who knows?  South African judge, Brian Southwood, referred to King as a “glib and shameless liar”.  Despite this, the SFA decided he was an appropriate person to run a football club, free to send out messages like this, with the objective of relieving fans of an average of £411 per person.  This is what happens when you enable people already branded a shameless liar, what do you expect?

I hope the SFA and Trading Standards are alerted to what’s going on, don’t leave it until it’s too late.

I’m waiting for new of the Ben Nevis Huddle, which should have taken place at the peak of the mountain in the last hour.  Over 80 people set out on the climb this morning to raise funds for the Celtic Foundation – to feed the hungry, provide shelter for the homeless and help others in need.

It’s a magnificent Celtic effort.  My wee brother’s up there, you can give his fundraising a pound or two here.  Thank you.

If you check out etims Twitter feed about 4 o’clock today. Gives you a very good insight to Ronnys thinking of youth progress.

  2. Butsybhoy..Me Neither…But I refuse to Join the Offended..Its what they want..Just let Them Die out like the Dinosaurs They Are…It Will Happen…

Lennon’s passion, the information about Ronny’s plans for our younger players on etims twitter makes for good reading.

Let’s hope we see the fruits of in next three or four years.

  4. So either Warburton is mental, a moron, or is at a loose end, the offers from the big club having failed to materialise.

I don’t think he is an idiot, so what on earth is he doing signing up for Sevco?

I can see the appeal for the GASL. Warburton has such a short track record in management that the hacks will be able to spin any kind of story the want abut his vision and abilities. This allows King to sell season ticket to his, erm, “co-investors”.

Already on FF they are planning their SPFL title winning party for the season after this one… truly no group of fans sets itself up for a fall like they do…

Strang, strange development. By no means the first in this epic.

  5. Italiabhoy…Read about the Brentford Owner…Intresting Guy…Brentford where 5th in the table, He allegedly Told Warbutton, on His figures( He is Really Big on Stats) Brentford where the 11th best Team in the League..And Sacked Him….Guys Names Benham…His other Team won the Danish League…Bit of a Guy…

I was speaking to one of the youth set up guys today. Huge improvements now. Celtic are doing everything professionally and impressively.

I had that young Australian boy staying with me a few years ago. He was at Celtic on the recommendation of Willie Wallace and Willie figured he’d thrive in a house full of Celtic boys.

Bit my tongue a little on that one – as did Willie and another Lion.

    Things considerably better.

Ronny is a regular visitor to many games at all levels.

Re your news on the swoop for the young sevco skipper…..

It’s a really positive move, we are punching our weight here, and it’s something that we did previously with Dylan Mceogh I believe?

Do you know who at Celtic would make this decision? Is it a John Park call? Youth policy guys, or is it higher up?

    Thanks for the info btw.

Sipsini, my dad’s family is originally from Johnstone. My dad was brought up in Temple and Knightswood, a few months evacuated to Johnstone and then back to Knightswood.

Jim Leighton’s wife is the daughter of one of my dad’s cousins on his mum’s side.

Absolutely. You obviously know a lot better than me, but the diaspora in NA have been magnificent in supporting celtic over the recent years (and beyond probably). I think the global marketing needs to be changed to global consideration of the fans in further afield places!

Delaney’s, the hun has become even more deranged might be apt lol

  13. Can i Have Rasp…Seems so Mate…Worked For him in Denemark….Bet RD knows all About it…

  14. Dollars…

Reckon I’ve been following your travels, only work wise though…

    B&S…Temple/ Anniesland then Johnston.

Now working in Polmadie, Ye huvnae been there as well;)

  15. San Diego Bhoy, I agree a lot of money left on the table in North America buy the club. I think it is

one of those difficult questions on

how to monitize the market. They probably just worry about the low hanging fruit.

  16. Greatly encouraged by what I’ve read on E Tims and from Winning Captains about our new policies with regard to the youth teams and development squad. This is so important for our future and an area that has been hit and mainly miss for some time. It looks as if we are trying to maximise its potential. About time. HH

  17. Aff out to see The Burning Hell at Electric Circus. Hopefully won’t be threatened with expulsion as we were on Friday night while belting oot the Rebs in a posh Edinburgh nightclub.

  18. Will the deal with New Balance, help on making inroads to supporting our support in the Americas ? Including Canada

    Hail Hail

Is there anybody else hearing the name Andy Carroll to us on a pay-per-play basis? A couple of Hammers pals separately this aft told me he is talking to us.

I think myself that this must be pish – too dear, too old, too static, too injured, ticks none of Ronny’s boxes.

    Certainly doesn’t tick mine.

  20. greeninbingley

He can’t be too old only about 26 ?

    But

He is earning about £100k a week, and someone in the EPL will pay for him, so not going to happen in my view

  21. Stringer Bell on

Andy Carol on £4m pa at west ham.

And that is the end of that. Thankfully.

  22. Greeninbingley on

    Cowiebhoy

I thought he was older than that but I agree with you. Just wondered if anybody had heard anything.

  23. greeninbingley

He’s not to old but he’s Defo injury prone and a scruff!

He’d be like Hartson/Sutton type player knocking the ball down for the striker to run onto,

I can’t see it happening but if fit he knows where the bet is and has a good presence as a striker

  24. Can i Have Rasp….I read a bit about them mate…They have came from nowhere , Bit like Ronny in Norway,…on a side note….only Athletico Madrid scored more Goals from Set Plays than them in all Europe..They scored on Ave 1 a game..Thats something Else..

  25. What is the Stars on

Andy Carroll would be out of our league wages wise. ..but I think he is a decent player ( when fit), did a lot of good stuff for West ham last season

  26. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Sipsini, first time I’ve been called dollars lol.

I lived for a wee while behind the Celtic End at Hampden about a mile from Polmadie, close but not close enough.

One of my dad’s neighbours , when my dad was growing up, used to work in Barr (any catholic) and Strouds. Its strange not seeing the big target built high up at Knightswood Cross that Barr and Strouds used. I think it was for the gun sights they produced.

I did know one guy who worked at Barr ans Stroud who was a catholic, Tony Gillies. He was from Pollok.

  27. What is the Stars on

    Bgx

Andy Carroll is a decent footballer. .its not his fault he was involved in crazy transfer fees. The money floating around in the EPL is mad but there are some very decent footballers in the league. There are also plenty of over rated over hyped players

  28. There was one of those BBC 4 documentaries about Fleetwood Mac.

Apparently, Peter Green was fed some dodgy LSD in Germany by some strangers he met after a concert or whatever.

John McVie and Mick Fleetwood when interviewed on the programme, maybe 35 years later, were still really upset and angry about the incident. Without being flippant, he was like a Henrik Larsson to the band in their late ’60s phase.

  29. Sunday = family time. We watched Harry Potter – Goblet of Fire.

I must say, the boy Malfoy is a total hun.
