Ordinary looking Celtic fail to show

1243

Despite a remarkably solid defensive record, we have lost four and three goals on our two visits to Ibrox this season, although two of yesterday’s goals were lost with a two man deficit.  We were deservedly a goal down before Cha Du-Ri was ordered off and the contest irrevocably skewed.  Several Celtic players looked panicked from the opening minutes and it wasn’t until Kris Commons started to menace the Rangers midfield that we appeared comfortable in possession.

Until then, we looked pretty ordinary.

After a remarkably consistent run of games that ensured this season’s league title is Celtic’s, two big games, which could each have delivered a trophy, have been lost.

The drive to the line which is needed for teams to fulfil their potential is not there yet. It will come. Days like yesterday, months like October, are what team building is all about.

If you need a pick-me-up, enjoy The Celtic Family video above, its’ sure to hit the spot.

  1. back to work this morning after a day recovering

looking back after watching game again yesterday, Ref well, one rule for us and one for them.

our team slection, before the game, i picked my team, no koreans anywhere in sight. I would not play Cha against an u19 rangers team, he is an accident waiting to happen. Ki, well he has never kicked a ball against rangers, and never kicked a ball again on Sunday

Commons all the time for me against the huns

Can we win the league next week?

All I’m saying is there are 2 ways to demonstrate our £power. Bhoycott and ‘support’…?

  3. Cultsbhoy

Is that the case even if the gang up fails to swing Celtic.

I will admit to a little suspicion in PL’s last statement mentioning Rangers. I seriously hope that was not the beginning of our club softening towards the Newco after initial hardball. I’m watching Celtic with a microscopic interest on this matter more than I am paying interest to others.

He was great in the Ibrox game when 10 men drew 2:2. He played in our 1:0 win in the replay and got half an hour in our 3:0 league win last season.

He has not impressed in the two Ibrox games this season but precious few have in both these games.

Keep up your observations but I doubt it’s necessary. Celtic support any Hun reentry to SPL = empty Celtic Park. I hold Lawwell in fairly low esteem but he’s not stupid… Not that stupid in any case.

But they’ll be voting to change the 11-1 voting requirement, won’t they?

    As will the huns.

So even if Aberdeen vote against the newco huns being admitted, they’ll still get in, because they’ll only need 9 votes.

If Aberdeen are serious about not letting a newco huns into the SPL they’d have to vote against changing the voting system.

”I’m not surprised the other teams are using the situation to their advantage…. Are you?”

    No.

But if the voting system is changed to 9-3 it doesn’t matter how Aberdeen vote, the newco huns will be back in the SPL, so Aberdeen voting against the move shouldn’t exempt them from any sanction that Celtic, or the fans, decide to apply. Aberdeen’s stance is hypocritical.

If a change in the voting system is to have any credibility it should only be done after there has been a vote on whether a newco huns are to be admitted. That’s not going to happen though.

  17. Where is the similar reaction to yesterdays game? The one we endured after the last Celtic V rankers game which resulted in 3 sending off, and an incident with the manager? Accompanied by “Old Firm shame” headlines, screams from Politicians and the Police for “action to be taken” “laws to be introduced”, comments on the “poisonous atmosphere” from all and sundry, and of course the

    pontificated moral outrage.

    Obviously I don’t expect one :-)

    Great Game

    Advert for Scottish football

    Wonderful atmosphere

    Brave Referee

More likely the comments from the incompetents that pass for sport Journalists in

    our little backwater.

I’ll bet my house either Clark, or Dougal (or both) have entered the scene to confirm

Murray got all the big decisions correct, and was basically brilliant throughout.

Another thing; I seriously hope there isn’t going to be some sort of olive branch offered to “the people” and their club from our board. Yesterday once again demonstrated their fans are NEVER going to remove themselves from the sectarian/bigoted pool they love to swim in! The incessant signing about JS by the majority of their crowd just after KO, had me sick to the stomach.

Hate is a strong emotion, but I effing hate them, and hope they die.

  22. A quick read and see the player of the year nominations on here.

I will be a bit different and say wee james Forrest has had an absolutely cracking season.

For a kid to break into not only the side but in the midfield and hold his own at his age is great to see.

I understand that people look at some of the points that he needs to work on but who would have thought he could have kept kris commons out the side at the start of the year. It’s easy to forget Wee James is so young and developing

When you consider he’s 20 years old I think? Broke into Celtic and Scotland’s senior side he must be worth a shout.

Please don’t say he didn’t play well against killie because the boss played him on the left side and it’s a bit harsh on his performance.

I hope he can chip in with a few more goals next season

Could have went to England but he WANTS to play for Celtic.

All the stick he gets from large sections of the fans, he wants to play for us.

Good for you sammy I like that about him.
