Oscar Knox Paving Stone

1523

Last year at BMCUWP’s hootenanny in McChuills, many CQNers clubbed together and raised funds to buy something appropriate in memory of Wee Oscar. A fantastic amount was raised and we are delighted to announce a paving stone was purchased at very, very, favourable rates from Celtic, and now has its pride and place very close to the statue of Big Jock.

The tribute reads, Wee Oscar Knox, Heart of a lion, Courage of a champion.

Make sure you look out for it next time you are at Celtic Park.

South of Tunis, he is a player I would have loved to have seen

Did he go into politics and want Jagger and co banned from palying in Italy?

  3. havent been on the blog today (deliberately lurking but not posting) cos I was reluctant to get into a slanging match (there sure is some crap posters at the minute) but had to log on to congratulate BMCUWP well done to you and all who helped a fine tribute to a wee hero

If the hunnery’s drawin with alloa just now what are they going to need to survive in the league above lol shirley it’s no just the managers fau’t?

  5. Enjoyed last night. Special occasion. Really enjoyed so many Celts and ex Celts playing so well for Scotland. Ireland

I found poor Jim Murphy’s abuse funnier than Aidens.

I was never his biggest fan when at Celtic. In my opinion 80% of the abuse last night was simply to upset an opposition player but 20% was more nasty than that.

Robertson definitely the one that got away.

  6. CorkCelt, now this is just a guess, but if I fill in the *****, there’s a lot of sweary words in there aren’t there?

    Oh the Dignity:-)

  7. The result at Ibrox is obviously to do with it being an International weekend and they were made to play even though half their team were playing international football!

They are just being punished again:-)

  8. Jeezo still posters trying to embellish heckling of Aiden as sectarianism.

    Celtic supporters my erse.

That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it!

It was also the first time I paid more than a pound a pint. £1.04,I remember it oh so well. And the ffs which followed.

    Naïve then,daft now. Heyho.

  10. Just off the phone from my nephew, he is a huge Tim and travelled with me to Seville and to Barca for the Marshall/Kennedy game, he was over for game last night and I was worried in case things went wrong as I didn’t want anything to happen that would deter him from following Celtic.

I needn’t have worried he had a great time and all the Scots he met were friendly and supportive and were only interested in taking photies. He said there was a fight in the stadium but he was away from it and had no idea what it was about or who started it.

  11. So it’s the Haka at murrayfield

    And the huckled at murraypark

Well done to all at the Hootenany, magnificent stuff.

  12. Interesting stats from ipox …

    Possession…them ” 50%, Alloa 50%

    Shots on target…them 3, Alloa 4

Sally is a master…less shots on target but still secures a point.

    Genious!

  13. Just off the phone to my da, I forgot the huns were playing with the international games.

1-1 with Alloa at home and five mins extra time added on..mmmm

    Work will be fun tomorrow:)))

First time I’ve been drawn in to this argument, what do you mean?

  15. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

    Blantyre, Poulson does sound familiar.

That’s good news about your leg healing up.

  16. The Saints first game in charge and I think Henrik’s comeback against Bordeaux, Deschamps (spelling)was brilliant. Was a bit pished though after a vodka redbull session in the Brazen.

  17. Robertson looks a class act; always got to wonder how we consistently miss out on young home based players who go on to be internationals and spend sponduliks on the likes of Boerichter, Balde etc; etc;

That must take real ability in the scouting arena.

Engerlund are Krap BTW and we should hopefully give them a doing on Tuesday.

I may be many things, but one thing for sure I am a Celtic fan.

You carry on with justifying your sectarian pish.

It says more about you than it does me.

    Advice sought….

London Calling album on sale on play store for the meagre sum of 99p dearer than Sevco.

Question…..should I buy it,I don’t know much about the Clash except that a guy called Chappie had it spray painted over shops in the 80’s?

Magnificent tribute to Oscar Knox who remains in the hearts of those he left behind.

Well done to the Celts who gathered the love, with a fine tribute.

The Green Brigade are selling a new Celtic scarf. In my opinion its a belter.

On one side is the original Celtic badge, the Centenary season badge and the current badge along with Brother Walfrid on it.

The other side of it has images of Big Billy, Tommy, Jock, Henrik, Brother Walfrid, Jinky.

It’s twelve pounds but the detail in it is very good, I’ve ordered one for my son.

  25. iPaddy McCourt

I suggest you read Super sutton’s explanation as to why Aiden McGeady plays for Ireland. Scotland did indeed initially turn their back on Aiden when he was a schoolboy, not that you are going to read that anytime soon in the rags of course.

  26. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

    Lennon McMjallby, buy it.

The best 99p you will spend. A great LP

The finest album released in 1979 also regarded as one of the best in the 80s. If you really haven’t heard it,you have to try to put yourself into the era it is from.

Otherwise, for all its brilliance,it is dated.

But it is still outstanding at times.

  28. No wonder the all blacks have the Hakka. What a shoite anthem.

    And so poorly sung!

No wonder they’ve never win Eurovision!

Poulsen was Danish and I think it was the ’93 match he played in. I only remember the Dortmund goalkeeper who played in Murdo’s team, De Beer! :))
