Oscar Knox Paving Stone

1523

Last year at BMCUWP’s hootenanny in McChuills, many CQNers clubbed together and raised funds to buy something appropriate in memory of Wee Oscar. A fantastic amount was raised and we are delighted to announce a paving stone was purchased at very, very, favourable rates from Celtic, and now has its pride and place very close to the statue of Big Jock.

The tribute reads, Wee Oscar Knox, Heart of a lion, Courage of a champion.

Make sure you look out for it next time you are at Celtic Park.

Some on here need to dry their eyes and give the victimhood a rest. Aiden got booed because he turned his back on the country where he was born and raised. His choice, but to suggest that every Scotland fan booing him last night was a sectarian bigot is utter garbage

A wee mention for Paul Larkin, who’s Documentary has its premiere in Glasgow today,

Well done to the green and white writer

    and his young family.

  10. Sevco were making a big play of putting pressure on Hertz by playing in the early game, Well its bitten them on the arse that’s if zombies have arses.

  11. So if Hearts beat Falkirk in the tea time game on BBC alba they go 6 clear with the chance to go 9 clear if they beat them again next week.

Just as well Scotland released the latest boy wonder to play for them today, who knows what would have happened had they not!

Greenpinta & Maeadominic, thanks. My Celtic & music memory is good but not in relation to other things.

We have been honoured to not only have seen many greats in the hoops over the years but the pleasure of watching us against teams with great players we rarely get to see in person.

The first european team to take us apart, particularly in the first half, at a game I was at, was Ajax in 1982. Since then I have kept an eye out for a player or players from a european team we play, who stand out.

I didn’t notice Shaun getting booked.

That corner where he celebrated seems very popular with players after scoring an important goal. Donati v Donestk, McDonald v Milan, Tony Watt v Barca for example.

  13. Tony – please.

Be considerate of the feelings of any stickies who may have strayed into the CQN biosphere at this time.

The booing of Aiden McGeady may be light-hearted football banter from some and may be a reflection of an insidious anti-Irish sentiment in Scotland from others.

My own view is that the MSSM promoted the latter and the sheep of society simply behaved as they were told to do. Some, of course, did not need to be told.

Hitch-hiking is magic when yer young and daft. I hitched to London in the mid 80s,ended up in The Albion Hotel in Gillingham St,IIRC.

£12 a night,or as it turned out,£5 an hour, due to how some of the residents earned their living.

    Extras,I presume,were extra.

Also the same hotel and same time that G Archer wasn’t doing the dirty on his fragrant Mary and handing over some dosh.

I marvel at my naivety then. And now, tbh.

Blantyre, I cant remember the Norwegian player for Dortmund lol I can only remeber Murdo and their captain, Frank Mill.

We were at the Wesfalen for the second game, with the four of us having the worst hangover we ever had.

I remember Mill flattened Allan McKnight, off the ball, and got away with it plus Murdo didn’t look to happy when he went up the tunnel after the game.

    How’s your leg?
