  1. @ oglach

i had a few pints of black belhaven last week while on holiday and very nice it was

a fine alternative to guinness if anyone wants to give it a miss

  2. On Chris Sutton

I think last in the past Chris has called it how he see’s it, the same as he has done recently, I don’t see any change, I think people who didn’t like his opinion think he has changed this season .;-)

  3. Delaneys Dunky on

Was waiting for Celtic today for a 7 team acca. Just took £361 off Willie Hill. Happy days.

Oglach – Diageo owns Guinness now anyway, so it doesn’t really matter.

Someday I hope to be on the Guinness because it is good for the health, an acquired taste though.

Once seen a fellow drink 30 pints of Guinness in the space of about 8 hours. It didn’t do him any harm.

    Slan.

Very true but the legacy still leaves that oh so bitter taste.

  6. Got to say its good to seethe PT management have come to their senses and given the Celtic support the bigger shed, wasn’t too long ago they were havering about season ticket holders in that area not willing to give up their seats, talking about cutting yer nose aff to spite yer face.

Saw your comment about our assistant manager earlier. At first thought it was tongue in cheek, then after today’s game saw the other non stories about his alleged comments in a Herald article which were copied and pasted by STV.

Actually, the game, performance (of both teams) and result today made JC’s point more eloquently for him and should embarrass the relevant media morons. We won today, but none of US were remotely confused into thinking that we really got out of third gear. Any scares for us were caused by tiredness and the very sloppiness that was mentioned by JC. We (and the media) all know that Celtic do indeed have to play very differently against European opponents because of precisely what we saw from Thistle today.

JC has so far been the consummate diplomat when confronted by the occasionally offensive and usually inane questions from the SMSM. Printing words out of context is just one of the many reasons Ronny has become increasingly impatient in pressers and with the press. I suspect that JC has been asked to do more of them as a consequence.

In this case, the relevant “preparation for meeting Malmo” point of JC’s comments (if he said them) was conveniently ignored and an anti Celtic bias spun on the narrative with an inflammatory headline to boot.

Apparently, as a SMSM member, you ask for a few moments of JCs time to talk about Malmo, and then distort the context of his comments to you, hoping to embarrass him and Celtic, and then deliberately fail to print anything contextual or relevant about the real issue that was ostensibly the purpose of your chat.

No wonder every non Scottish person that comes to work at Celtic is astonished at the crassness of the bias.

Mr. Pastry has escaped from Warburton’s cakehole.

Wee Callum McG was very clever setting up the first goal imo.

Lovely low ball into LG. I think the “old-fashioned” cross is of no use to us at present. We don’t have anyone who can consistently time their run and get a good header on target.

We are blessed to have some really class players. Just enjoy.

    VVD is pure class.

    Boyata will be in time.

Craig G…although untroubled today is the best ‘keeper since Da Ronnie.

RD is bringing through a number of our young lads who will star in the future.

    Huns Deid.

    What great times.

Agree but with one caveat. We so obviously lack a potent striker.

  10. canamalar

i can understand pt season ticket holders being upset when others are given their seats – a similar reaction on here when Celtic fans have to move for european games.

It’s all about the money, money, money

  11. Gene,

I think there’s a difference, the number of times I sat in the wee away end which was chockablock while a hundred or so PT supporters tried to make the big she’d look busy.

I think you’ll find the main difference being that when Celtic supporters are moved the chances are we’d fill the area if Celtic supporters were allowed to occupy the area

  12. Delaneys Dunky on

    Celtic Mac

I was sitting with 6 wins last night with Celtic to win today. Never in doubt. Haha.

  13. Canamalar

No doubt there is a difference in the crowd numbers, I was commenting on the way an individual fan might feel.

  14. celtic game rubbish,i watched the Malmo game

they played with 10 men for 30 minutes the score

was 2-1 for Malmo they are very fisical team, Celtic

will have it all to do H.H.

  15. Glibby McShameless on

    Oglach

I agree re a potent striker. But I think this will be addressed in the course of things.

And on the Malmo games. Lets just enjoy it. It’s great to be involved. Yes it will be tough but tough games are what it’s all about at this stage we are at. In fact the tougher the better.

Partick west less so. The Windsor and The Rosvale are Glasgow Warriors and Chelsea pubs noo. :))

  17. Jungle Jim Hot Smoked on

I have just come in from a bike ride and knew /know nothing about the `penalty incident` but this is what Keir Murray had to say on the BBC site game report:

“However, referee John Beaton correctly observed that the Swede had his back to the ball and was only a yard away from Wilson, and waved aside the appeals.”

    JJ

  18. McGregor is nowhere near good enough for Celtic, much better youth team players with Celtic than he is

So what did he do today ? Eventually came out wide and got a cross in for our first goal, to me that’s what he should be doing

Rest of the game he wandered all over the pitch, occasionally coming out wide, thought he was being substituted just prior to KC, and by that stage he was back to giving the ball away far to frequently

Only my opinion, but cannot see the many comments he had a decent game and showed anything

It’s doesn’t help knowing why Lenny sent him out on loan mind you :-)

    Hail Hail

    Some lift!

    Well done :)

Did you contemplate spreading the bet?

    Cmon, be honest now?!

  20. DD,

    Aye :)

But always remember two churches in the same parish says Patricks green n white for a long long time :)

  21. Cowiebhoy

tend to agree re mcgregor, thought henderson would have got the nod – a much better prospect imho

  22. Careful With That Tax, Moonbeams on

Just caught a swatch of the hun on sunday back page .. JC’s right ..

That today was Bhoys against men ..

Even if we were lacklustre in the final 3rd ..

Need competition to make us competitive in Europe ..

    Yep .. Them’s up!

  23. Back in from very good lunch with the other half. Game was very much a stroll as expected, what did we learn?

In my opinion not a lot, we are a decent side , head and shoulders above SPL cannon fodder and I expect Thistle to stay up comfortably. I hope so, they are a decent well run club with a good youth scheme and community programmes.

I see the EPL is serving up the same old dross, how surprising. I got a call back from VIrgin Media yesterday after I had rung asking about the availability of the season ticket I purchased for SKy Sports last season. In short, the offer (£150 for 10 months) is not on this year, bummer as I would have paid that for the odd Celtic game and Primera Liga.

As it stands, £29 a month is the latest offer…..not value for money.

As for my fitness regime, sorry to report that hip pain prevented any treadmill run today, try agisn tomorrow after work.
