MARATHON Man James Forrest has played around SIXTY games for Celtic this season.

But the Hoops winger is ready for one last push to bring down the curtain on an another successful campaign against Motherwell in the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden this afternoon.

And a triumph over the Fir Park outfit will bring Brendan Rodgers’ men a place in Scottish history books as the first team to complete back-to-back trebles.

Forrest said: “Those are things you want to achieve when you are coming through. I’m doing that just now, but it just want to keep playing once you get a momentum and rhythm.

“You want big games and when you came back in a pre-season you understand that it’s going to be three games a week until Christmas.

“It is good because you want to keep playing – if you don’t play well in one game,l then you quickly have a chance to put it right.

“If you are constantly playing games, then it shows you are successful.”

Forrest has a season-best goal tally with 17 strikes, but the first goal he scored was on his debut against today’s opponents Motherwell.

He added: “It was about eight years ago. It’s incredible that I’ve gone on to win so many medals and it’s nice to hear that I’m one of the most decorated players at the club.

“It shows you are doing things right and for me to be at a club like this for so long is a positive.

“I will think about that after my career, but for now I just want to win as many games and trophies as I can.”

The Fir Park defenders are also unlikely to forget Forrest’s contribution when they faced him in the League Cup Final in November.

It was goalless at the interval, but a few minutes into the restart the winger curled a beauty beyond Trevor Carson for the goal that opened the way to a 2-0 success and brought boss Rodgers his fourth trophy victory out of four.

Now the international raider has the opportunity to help his gaffer make it six out of six.
