Police first creditor to react

635

Strathclyde Police were Rangers first creditor to ask for a payment guarantee from Rangers’ newly appointed administrator, saying, “Strathclyde Police is a public body and has a duty to make sure public resources are used appropriately. We are seeking an urgent meeting with the administrators to ensure that any payment for policing costs at future Rangers games is guaranteed.

“Until we have such a guarantee we would not be in a position to commit public resources to policing an event unless we had a reassurance that our costs would be met.”

Before the administrator is able to allow the scheduled game against Kilmarnock on Saturday to proceed he would need to guarantee payments for all services employed and goods used, casting considerable doubt on the game proceeding.  The administrator is liable for any expenses he incurs from now which cannot be paid by the club.

Funds will need to be found for turnstile and security staff, while footballers may be asked to play for free.

One final push (this week) for the Vanessa Riddle Appeal. We have a Celtic top signed by the first team squad available to auction on eBay. You can bid on the auction and help send Vanessa for the treatment she needs by clicking here. Thanks to Penfold for the donation and to Taggsybhoy for organising (yet again).

So where do they stand now? is Craig Whyte the only secured creditor? Will HMRC accept a CVA and a reduced repayment?

Boiled down into one question, what are the chances of liquidation?

  17. Paul 67,

As I don’t have any Greek or Latin myself I find it difficult to put into words how much I have enjoyed your website over the last few years, and even more so now as things come to a head re our tax dodging (ex ?) rivals.

You have been consistently ahead of the curve on this, and a reasoned voice in times of highs and lows when we, as a support, tend to lurch between moments of crisis and utter joy. One question for you, sir, if you would be so kind:

If you were a betting man, what do you think of the chances of RFC (as was) being able to fulfil their fixture this weekend in the SPL?

    Thanks and best regards,

  18. “Rangers in administration without the tax case”

With these words Paul67 launched a blog thread in what seems days ago but was only yesterday.

In my mind I discounted the wee tax case and the big tax case and thought what the hell was next?

In a dastardly move by MBB he made a lie of P67’s statement. What a cunning fellow! He created another a PAYE tax case!!

There you go bears: Your own personal MBB got it right round P67.

Rejoice! We have managed to rip off Her Maj by another 9 million.

Id suggest you dont take it personally Paul :-)

  19. It doesn’t matter what you call C.W……it’s ALL true! Anyway,he’s too busy to sue right now. The polis are at his door!

  20. Just catching up on last night’s blog.

Post of the night for me (so far), was the shout reported to have been heard on TV coming from one of the ORc’s outside Ibrokes as CW was about to read his statement:

‘Where’s your billion pounds, ya pr!ck?’

    Sublime …

HMRC will fight against a CVA. A CVA is effectively the same as agreeing to a reduced fee.

Leeds offered 1p in the pound at first and only increased it to 8p after some fighting.

HMRC have the look of someone who will take this to the bitter end.

I would think liquidation is about 4/6 fav at the moment.

  23. And I thought yesterday wouldn’t be topped, certainly not so soon!!! For every last one of us who suffered through the barren 90s this is what we have been waiting decades for; just bought my jelly and ice cream so i intent on savouring every last moment of the hell rangers find themselves in. could not have happened to a more odious club, a cancerous stain on scottish society for so so long. goodbye and good effing riddance.
