It is one thing for football fans and administrators to be embroiled in the politics of the game but it’s no wonder that Neil Lennon tires of such subjects. His team are top of the SPL and in the knockout stages of the Champions League but he is being distracted by references to his club emanating from the lower leagues. Maybe he should limit his comments on this subject to those of Walter Smith, “We wish the new Rangers Football Club every good fortune.” Every “new” club deserves the same courtesy.
Can you imagine the reaction if Neil said the same!
Speaking of which, I see the man who has avoided trying to win friends among other clubs since his arrival in the game last year is now trying to influence people on league reconstruction. Good luck with that.
We spoke over the weekend about well-run clubs in the SPL (Inverness, St Johnstone, Ross County, Motherwell), where managers come and go but results tend to remain buoyant. Notably absent from this list was Dundee United, who have underachieved for years, but whose manager, Peter Houston, was today given permission to speak to English Championship side, Blackpool. Houston has been unable to sprinkle magic dust over Tannadice so, if offered the Blackpool job, I expect him to accept.
United need to ask some fundamental questions should they be forced to replace their manager, like why they have vastly more resources than Motherwell, and appear to be able to produce prodigious young talent, but consistently fail to match the Lanarkshire side the in the league table. They are a club in need of vision.

Good to see you back on for a bit.
I hope you are receiving a bit more respect from young eejits than you had recently.
I’ve heard a few people I know say similar things.
Not a good trend,it should be nipped in the bud.

The Thatcher project was conceived as a much more right wing experiment than she managed to deliver. Her earliest advisers, including Airey Neave, were a fairly exotic bunch including apartheid sympathisers and anti-union activists spoiling for a fight.
Your reference to Airey Neave is offensive.
He fought against Nazi Germany and was captured and imprisoned in Colditz from which he escaped.
He was subsequently killed by the I.R.A.
CALTON TONGUES
Sorry, sure you had mentioned something along those lines after the Dundee game.
Apologies for the mistake-I must be tired right enough.
Still good to see you back on.
Anyway,defo offski.

Call you in the summer
We live in a political world
Love don’t have any place
We’re living in times where men commit crimes
And crime don’t have a face
We live in a political world
Icicles hanging down
Wedding bells ring and angels sing
Clouds cover up the ground
We live in a political world
Wisdom is thrown into jail
It rots in a cell, is misguided as hell
Leaving no one to pick up a trail
We live in a political world
Where mercy walks the plank
Life is in mirrors, death disappears
Up the steps into the nearest bank
We live in a political world
Where courage is a thing of the past
Houses are haunted, children are unwanted
The next day could be your last
We live in a political world
The one we can see and can feel
But there’s no one to check, it’s all a stacked deck
We all know for sure that it’s real
We live in a political world
In the cities of lonesome fear
Little by little you turn in the middle
But you’re never sure why you’re here
We live in a political world
Under the microscope
You can travel anywhere and hang yourself there
You always got more than enough rope
We live in a political world
Turning and a-thrashing about
As soon as you’re awake, you’re trained to take
What looks like the easy way out
We live in a political world
Where peace is not welcome at all
It’s turned away from the door to wander some more
Or put up against the wall
We live in a political world
Everything is hers or his
Climb into the frame and shout God’s name
But you’re never sure what it is
Green proposes 14-14-14 format
kenning well fine the play offs will curry in his flavour
Margaret McGill,
Look forward to it, you can even bring you know who:-)))

Everyone else, Thatcher was 30 years ago, She wasnae a nice woman or PM, ffs let’s move on and give the present crowd the grief they deserve plus think yourselves lucky I gave it all up to live in the most politically corrupt country in Northern Europe, to think I sang all those songs for freedom when all that happens is the same old, political classes look after themselves and f**k the workers in this dear old country
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V20o-xtwQSE
And any other dear old country.
Zimmerman – too true
One of my favourite Uncle Bob tracks, that.
And he says he’s not political.
Jokerman.
HH!
Thatcher, in her wildest wettest dreams would not/could not implement the policies that this gaggle of horrors is ramming through.
No real protest.
A supine, fearful & compliant ‘opposition’.
Labour = I Can’t Believe It’s Not Tory.
N.I. unravelling, and a N.I. Secretary without a clue.
The poor & disabled under vicious attack.
A new Falklands war on the horizon.
And if we’re so broke, how come ALL the posh shops had a bumper Christmas? How come the stock exchange is booming like never before.
We’re being ripped a new one, daily.
And I’m sick of it.
Contrary to many, I found the blog interesting reading tonight regards the Maggie Thatcher issue.
Many good Christian souls sticking to their ethos and refusing to wish ill-will on another human being. Whether most of that was genuine or bedded in the karmaic/Catholic guilt we can’t call, but admirable enough of those to declare their position on a very contentious historical figure.
Others were less gracious, hoping for her imminent demise or protracted suffering before eventual painful death.
Now I consider myself a decent human being – love my kids, sometimes even the wife, look for the good in people, etc, etc. Nowhere near as good as some, not as wicked as others.
(Adopts ‘De Niro raised eyebrows/downturned mouth apologetic vitriol’ pose) And I’m afraid I’m caught between the two camps; not the good christian but the imminent demise/suffering.
Actually I’d like to see the twisted old reptile die during a Celtic match – ideally just as we score a title-winning goal, her last rattling breath hissing out of her, those dead-rodent eyes poopping on stalks as she jerks off her death-bed like a demonic marionette to the distant sound of leather rasping on goal-net and the joyous explosion of 60,000 gleeful victorious Tims.
Like I mentioned, I’m ambivalent.
Until that not-too-far-off sunny day , I’ll wake happily knowing that Satan’s warming up the Hades school milk…
Forget about who done what to who,
these are the folks that run the show,
although they may have their hierarchy,
Rothschild (Bauer)
Bruce
Cavendish (Kennedy)
De Medici
Hanover
Hapsburg (Habsburg)
Krupps
Plantagenet
Rockerfeller
Romanov
Sinclair/StClair
Warburg (Del Banco)
and Windsor (the German house of Saxe-Coburg-Goethe)
All roads eventually lead to these buggers,
everything from the food we eat;the water we drink;the “medical care” we receive, including vaccines, the “news” we watch, hear and read;the “entertainment”we are given;the governments that dictate to us;the military that enforces the will of the government;and the drug running network aimed at destroying the lives of young people.
So basically we are all f****d
i’m going to bed.
Goodnight.
A mate of mine, in a commando unit, is being sent to the Falklands for some shooting practice.

Tumbleweeds…..
AP wire story from Spain. Hold the presses.
Following secret meetings in a Spanish Tapas bar, Peter Lawell announced that after extensive negotiations and several rounds of drinks, Celtic FC had successfully purchased two of Scotland’s better known football clubs.
Vale of Leven and Renton FC were major clubs in the formation of Scottish football.
Peter said in a slightly slurred voice “We are extremely pleased to welcome both Renton and Vale of Leven to the Celtic family, especially as they represent an area where we have great support, particularly from those older fans who attended St Patrick’s, the Dumbarton one, not the better one in Coatbridge.”
“The titles and history associated with these fine clubs will be absorbed into our history and will be found a prominent position in our trophy room.”
“Negotiations with Third Lanark, another East Glasgow club are ongoing and will hopefully be concluded before last call.”
Stay tuned to CQN for further news.

That would be marvellous.
My son,who takes an interest in the A league, thinks he`s certainly worth a go.
The game televised ,apparently,on E.S.P.N.
Exciting times for Timmy.:-)
It is also available on Celtic tv for us exiles.
This collection of posts from people gleefully looking forward to the death of Thatcher and boasting of how they will celebrate her demise hits CQN on a regular basis, almost once a month it seems.
I despised the woman in her political hay-day and she does have a lot to answer for, but it can’t be right to constantly throw up a hate-fest like the one tonight, hoping for prolonged suffering on what is after all, a frail and sick old woman.
When she dies, I will shed no tears. Nor will I utter any words of sympathy. If people feel the need to vent such anger, can’t you at least wait until she does pass away, instead if polluting this blog with unbridled and merciless hatred every few weeks whenever someone mentions her name?
It is a Celtic/football blog after all.
Brighton…Should’ve been the answer.
What`s the difference between Margaret Thatcher and Edwina Currie?
One screwed Miners. One screwed Majors.
aw you guys are no fun at awe. Laters!
Assuming there is a joke here..I’ll say..”a dunno”
Going by the time difference…I got it. And so should have her cabinet.
