Populist instigators without a plan

739

Loved the statement issued by the ‘3 Bears’ last night.  They protest that their offer to Rangers International was superior to the offer from Sports Direct, which was accepted.  What the sharp-eyed PR wizard didn’t figure when delivering the statement, though, is:

The board need 75% shareholder permission to dis-apply shareholder pre-emptive rights and create sufficient shares to allow the 3 Bears to fund their proposed share issue.

Support of the Easdale proxy block is needed to pass this dis-application.

Knowing they needed Easdale support, when the board asked if they would drop the EGM resolution to remove James Easdale from the board in order to make their proposal viable, the 3 Bears declined.

Consider the conversation:

A. “We’ll fund a share issue.”

B. “That needs Jimmy’s agreement.  Will you drop your plans to sack him?”

A. “No.  We’re still going to sack him.”

B. “Can’t do, Jimmy’s not going to vote for that.”

A. “It’s all your fault for not accepting our perfectly well thought-out proposal.”

It’s astonishing how shoddy an operation these clowns have.  I know no one in the media will explain the reality to fans, nor will they believe anything they read here.  When populist instigators for change have no viable plan, a club is deader than Rangers (mark I).

no its an oxy moron :)

Someone posted earlier that server problems would be sorted soon, as |’ve tried everything clearing cache etc. I am assuming because of the Google chrome search when trying to log in

I would love to discuss this with both of you over a pint. I suspect the three of us have roughly the same opinion concerning Dalglish and his comments. My original point ( which I accept was obscure!) was that those who put Kenny on a footballing pedestal were projecting that talent onto him as a person. Had they not done so, they would perhaps have been less disappointed with his comments.

on the song theme, “Roll with it” in Paris, a typical Celtic moment, the song came on and every Celtic fan belted it out

Remember being at Mark Hughes’ testimonial and Celtic fans singing “things can only get better” and “always look on the bright side of life”.

Wee Donnelly slipped in the second as Manure were in full voice with “Hello Hello we are the Fergie boys”.

Chic Charnley was great that night.

Wish he could have pulled on the hoops.

He did, but once only, his brothers testimonial

Thanks. That being the case, I can see that the weather forecast of snow was enough for a conversation of possibilities to grow into a statement of definites 0:-)

The game MUST go ahead. Scotland NEEDS the Old Firm don`t you know ? 0:-)

    Goodnight all.

Went up to see an old mate tonight who sadly died on Sunday.

We went everywhere in his car to see Celtic in the early 70s.

There he was in his coffin with the hoops on. RIP Robert.

Agreed. Not sure when I will be back, but would look forward to meeting you and Canamalar in person to discuss.

I wonder if a delay in the game wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing….. I hope I’m wrong, but I can see the pressure building up for this one … a lot of sore heads after a late night on Saturday may make the zombears even less pleasant than they might otherwise be …maybe defuse it a bit if the game were played on a wet, cold rainy Tuesday evening .. people might be less inclined to stay around afterwards looking for trouble if it is freezing and chucking down with rain…

See there’s carnage in mid summers tonight, recorded it since the Barca game was on, viewing tomorrow……

At the end of the game Chic went to the fans and wore about 20 scarves.

Think he ended up with Cantona’s shirt.

A great site to see and he only went to watch but was asked if he fancied playing.

  11. Zombie on zombiemedia asking if people would accept ashley if he ‘gave’ them £30m for players!!!! Hahaha what planet are these nutters on, he’s drip feeding the huns loans to get assets and they hope he’ll suddenly give them x amount of cash haha

I wasn’t at that match and only skim read your post the first time (bad habit), but his dream was to play and score for Celtic, he was the right type for us too, a pity for us and him that it never happened

    RIP Robert.

Travelling to matches by car in the seventies took some doing. I was a regular on the St. Bartholomews CSC (first supporters’ bus in Castlemilk – sadly no more) and getting to Aberdeen always seemed last a lifetime.

I’m a bit slow on the uptake but Big Mike offered Sevco this loan and the board with Lambias & Leach. Two Sevco directors previously on the payroll of Big Mike, came to the conclusion it was the best one available.

Now I’m no financial guru but does this not smell a bit iffy? Surely there has to be a conflict of interest. Not that I should care a jot but could this deal be challenged legally in any way?
