Loved the statement issued by the ‘3 Bears’ last night. They protest that their offer to Rangers International was superior to the offer from Sports Direct, which was accepted. What the sharp-eyed PR wizard didn’t figure when delivering the statement, though, is:
The board need 75% shareholder permission to dis-apply shareholder pre-emptive rights and create sufficient shares to allow the 3 Bears to fund their proposed share issue.
Support of the Easdale proxy block is needed to pass this dis-application.
Knowing they needed Easdale support, when the board asked if they would drop the EGM resolution to remove James Easdale from the board in order to make their proposal viable, the 3 Bears declined.
Consider the conversation:
A. “We’ll fund a share issue.”
B. “That needs Jimmy’s agreement. Will you drop your plans to sack him?”
A. “No. We’re still going to sack him.”
B. “Can’t do, Jimmy’s not going to vote for that.”
A. “It’s all your fault for not accepting our perfectly well thought-out proposal.”
It’s astonishing how shoddy an operation these clowns have. I know no one in the media will explain the reality to fans, nor will they believe anything they read here. When populist instigators for change have no viable plan, a club is deader than Rangers (mark I).

Why? I think you are wrong to say it is silly but I have absolutely nothing against you.

See you on the night bud. Thanks again. :))
I was in a jam packed jungle half an hour before kick-off v Athletico in the 74 semi, singing along to ‘remember your a womble’ with 12000 others.
With 45 minutes to go it’s Midsomer Bodies 3 v 0 Barnaby.
Don’t think it’s all over yet, could be more bodies yet.
Some poor sod out for a good time hears that for a small price you can get a ‘fix’ from this really nice guy.
The fix is duly paid for and applied.
Hey-presto, for a very brief period, all is right in the world.
But then it wears off. So, back for another fix.
The nice guy is happy to continue this cycle because he knows full well that the poor sod is becoming more dependent on him each and every time a fix is applied.
After a very short time, the poor sod will agree to any terms whatsoever just to get his fix. The terms agreed also ensure that the poor sod has no option to go elsewhere. The debt burden is so high that he is now ‘owned’ by his supplier.
MA knows that Sevco are so dependent on him for a fix that they can’t go anywhere else. Each fix, duly applied, simply makes Sevco even more dependent. The debt burden is so great that they have no option but to sign up to whatever terms MA dictates.
Death can seem like a blessing.
Good to be back .
On the singing, i remember Rod’s ‘Sailing’ getting belted out at half time against the deadco. Im sure were winning, trying to remember what game and score, anyone ?

Tweet My Celtic and Rangers thing…
——————————————————————————–
Over the last few months I’ve had a lot of stick from Rangers fans after talking about their club, being critical and sometimes poking a little fun at what even they must see as quite an extraordinary situation which I’m sure makes them laugh and cry in equal measure.
It’s usually followed with name calling which is fine, references to “Ally gggggggg ya burd” which I find genuinely hilarious and more exotic Roman Catholic slurs (I’m Church of England) .
Old clips of an interview at Ibrox I did (went to watch Rangers v St Johnstone when Gazza/Coisty were there) are doing a roaring trade on the retweet circuit, as it rightly suggested at the time that I had a soft spot for the club going back to early teens.
So why the love in for Celtic Football Club now?
Well, my mate, a Rangers fan , taught me the sash as a kid, extolled the virtues of being British and proud, and that Rangers Football Club were a beacon of this pride.
And then I started to read, learn for myself the history of the club, my Britishness, Celtic and came to a swift, quite embarrassing conclusion.
There is very little (Poppy tribute aside, as my family faught for my freedom of speech and my nation) to celebrate about Rangers in my opinion. Virtual sporting apartheid for many years, not allowing one part of the community to play for them was quite frankly a disgrace, and that alone, knowing all about how one group of people look down on another, would have been enough to move on from those Rangers “supporting ” days.
Then I learned of very close links historically between some Rangers supporters and right wing nutters who follow Chelsea, who themselves extols the virtues of an anti black, anti immigrant, anti inclusion mantra. Not for me thanks!
But why actively then choose a fondness for Celtic?
A club founded by immigrants, actively encourages immigrants in its support ( don’t worry, wankers monkey chanting Mark Walters are wankers, and I’m convinced in my own mind, from what I’ve seen that Celtic FC is way more inclusive than not,I’m not stupid). Is actively anti fascist an has embraced Catholic and Protestant footballers from year dot. In other words, a club who would have embraced my religion merely as a sportsman, not the disgusting apartheid that, if I were a Roman Catholic footballer wouldn’t have allowed me in the 70’s to wear a blue football shirt.
I don not support the IRA , so anyone trying that one can with respect fuck off, I’m a proud English Republican, and that’s where my Republican fervour lies, a Royal family is a relic of yesteryear, and again yesteryear rather than a bright tomorrow seems to be celebrated rather too much for my liking at Rangers.
I’ll take stick for this and that’s fine. I respect Rangers football club achievements, the many fine players they’ve had and the wonderful support given to Fernando Ricksen last week was truly touching.
But I don’t like what Rangers stood for and in many ways continue to stand for, I feel closer and more aligned to what Celtic Football Club stand for.
I support neither, I support Aston Villa Football Club, but I’ve been asked the question many times on Twitter I decided to address it.

If you remember, we applauded Morton onto the park because they had drawn 3-3 with the huns midweek putting us in the box seat. As our game wore on, we were doing anything but applauding them. I can still remember buzz-bomb stabbing the ball home from close in and the place going absolutely radio rental.

I thought that`s what you meant and I agree with that statement. My point was that people projected their admiration of Dalglish as a player onto Dalglish the man and were then disappointed he let them down. I believe they are correct to have little respect for him. I believe they were wrong to have that respect in the first place. That was not Dalglish`s fault.

I believe the ole Shania Twain ‘Mhan I feel like a wummin’ at hauf time in Bordeaux trumps
that.hh
Twitter is awash with rumours that the game on Sunday will be called off.

JJ,
I don’t think expecting people to be honest is too much to ask
Still having trouble logging in with my smart phone and judging by the number of posts the last few days there must be a lot of bhoys and ghirls in the same boat

game aff,
allegedly hampden borrowed the ibrox gardners for pitch clearing
Kenny Dalglish is for me the 2nd best player after Bobby Murdoch. I saw more of Kenny than Bobby.
I wont hear a bad word said against him. What he done for Hillsboro is a testament to his greatness. I love him.
That the board have orchestrated four of our past managera and four of the cutest, not as cute as Jock that’s for sure, is a measure of this board.
They have miscalculated badly.
We will pay to read about it in their books one day.
I know they have not done so reluctantly. Back slapping. It is a high price they are paying for the damage to their Celtic reputations.
It is not worth it. imho

4-0.
M6Bhoy –
I remember that game v Morton like it was yesterday. 51,000 rocked Celtic Park that day as wee Bobby Lennox grabbed the league-clinching winner with seconds to spare.
I was only 14 and even today, it was one of the most wildly celebrated goals I can remember.
Rangers won at Rugby Park and their fans invaded the pitch and celebrated a league triumph, believing we had drawn 1-1.
Great memories.
JJ..,
I don’t believe he’s stupid
M6bhoy
Oldco pretty much blew it 2 years running. The Morton 3-3 game you mention and the season previous 67-68, they went unbeaten until last game when the sheep beat them 3-2 at the bigot hoose. There must have been 40000 at Dunfermline (official 28) 4 days later to see us win the league.

This is obviously my specialist subject.
Yes, we did sing Sailing. It was popular because Rod Stewart took it to number one in the charts round about the time he went public about his support for Celtic. At the time we all knew he was a big Scotland supporter because of his dad but it was the much maligned King Kenny that swung him behind us.
For at least a couple of seasons, Sailing replaced You’ll Never Walk Alone as our supporters anthem and there was a big debate about whether we should leave YNWA to Liverpool who claim (correctly imo) that they sung it first at a football match. Funnily enough some Toffees claim they did but there is little or no evidence of this.
I actually preferred the original version of Sailing sung by the Sutherland Brothers. The song was written by Graham Sutherland.

Entering the last 15 minutes. Still 4-0.
Barnaby has a lot to do, if he is to get a result!
I think match will definitely go ahead. A couple of early goals for us and i’ve got my doubts the game will finish.
I think this weeks news re big mike has been final straw for many.
Bumped into a couple of sevco friends in last few days, they didn’t want to discuss anything sevco or sunday related, ouch!
Things could get real nasty on Sunday.

I loved Sailing sung by the Celtic crowd with the scarves raised. Then the hun stole a love song and poisoned it with their hatred version.
Remember being at Mark Hughes’ testimonial and Celtic fans singing “things can only get better” and “always look on the bright side of life”.
Wee Donnelly slipped in the second as Manure were in full voice with “Hello Hello we are the Fergie boys”.
Chic Charnley was great that night.
Wish he could have pulled on the hoops.

Have to disagree with you on this one. KD is someone who, better than most, benefitted from playing for Celtic, and knew first hand the extent of the cheating and chicanery.
I give everyone the benefit of the doubt, and try to assume the best of people, unless and until I am given reason not to. by perpetuating the lies (which, lets be frank, are based in bigotry), KD has given me reason not to give him the benefit of the doubt any longer.
At that stage, I then question whether someone is so dumb or naive so as to excuse their conduct. If they genuinely dont or cant know better, then there is no basis for my being disappointed. However, my sense of KD is that he is a canny and clever guy, who should and does know better, bur said what he did anyways.
So, I disagree with his argument. But I am disappointed in the person..

Sutherland Brothers and Quiver, brilliant. Loved this one, arms of Mary. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fpiT6qIP_8
m6bhoy,
Thanks for that info.
Thats what i love about his site, i never knew there was an original, i always thought Rod’s version was the original. You live and learn.

Me too and if I’m being honest I’m not a big fan of YNWA (Tin hat on time). Rod also liked his hooped scarf as evident on the cover of his 1975 album Atlantic Crossing which of course included his version of Sailing.

Could Ashley make sevco such a horrific situation that a move to England with a ‘re named club using sevco image rights will seem like heaven ?
