Protecting Celtic from inappropriate behaviour

157

After all the talk about derby games without away fans taking an edge away, that scenario seems more attractive.  With the indiscipline that Newco brought to the recent Women’s and B squad games against their Celtic equivalents, it is fortuitous that there will be no away fans at Celtic Park on Saturday.

Hopefully the expected lack of an edge will assist visitors who represent their club to refrain from the excesses which have followed them when facing green and white hoops.  These incidents have real life consequences and not only for their immediate victims.  What is permitted at the top of the club is seen as an example by those further down the food chain.

Celtic staff and players at all levels have a right to be protected from any sustained inappropriate behaviour.

All gone for not being in the safe centre of the bell curve in the Mod’s eyes or disagreeing with the guys the Mod agrees with.

Lack of sobriety and a late hour seems to bring bans from Mod more often than not

The irony is that adversaries in heated debate are the least likely to call for a ban as they respect their intellectual opponent

  7. BTW the guy admitted he was not a Celtic supporter. So why the feck was he on here? To bad mouth everything Celtic because anything else meant the present Board were making good decisions. Open your eyes, bhoys. Penalty shoot-outs before the game, Unity of a country being dependant upon being an island. Celtic supporters attending a home match was paying off the rapist off David Goodwillie.

In fact, the Mod actually apologized to Mr Mastermind. The biggest irony is that EL repeatedly mocked people for taking time out for feeling upset. What a d@@@.

  11. Paul Lambert is fondly remembered by Celtic fans for winning four league titles and four domestic cups with the club as well as being part of the Seville team.

Recently, though, Lambert has revealed how he initially turned down a move to Celtic and that it was Wim Jansen’s persuasion combined with the health of his son that coaxed him into a move back home.

In summer 1997, the Scot had just starred in a European Cup win for Borussia Dortmund in his maiden year at the club. As a result of this, numerous teams were interested, Lambert told the Daily Record:

“After the Champions League Final, I had the option to go anywhere in Europe.

    “It was incredible.

“My answer was always ‘no, this club has given me what i have today and i’m really happy here’. Then there came a point when my son wasn’t keeping too good”

Lambert’s son suffered from febrile convulsions which causes children to have convulsions when their temperatures rise to an extremely high level. Due to this, a move home seemed logical and Celtic were interested:

“Celtic came in. They’d asked me a few times at the beginning and i’d said no to them as well.”

Despite saying no to Celtic previously, Wim Jansen would not let up and met with Lambert when he was on international duty:

“Scotland were playing Belarus up in Aberdeen. Wim [Jansen] and Murdo MacLeod appeared like Rentaghost in the bootroom at Aberdeen! I don’t know how they got in there but they did and Wim said ‘would you give me one more chance? i want to sign you.”

In the end, Jansen ended up signing European champion Lambert for 2.9 million euros (Transfermarkt) and the rest, as they say, is history.

The midfielder helped Celtic stop the ten in his first season at the club before moving on to Livingston, where he eventually retired, after spending eight successful years in Glasgow’s east end.

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Thank God, he said yes. 10 in a row would not have been stopped.

He was not banned for that stuff (not Celtic news anyway) it was a misunderstanding with the Mod. Ask the Mod about it, as he was actually involved. EL was compulsively nasty, patronizing and a well known smart ass. Some people like that, most do not. He has been told he is free to post her. He chose not to. Why? Now that the SNP are fecked, the guy might have to talk about Celtic. They are doing too well to suit his agenda. So he does not post. Fact.

Is this a blog about Celtic? Anyway, big game Saturday. Fantastic season so far. I pray it continues.

You seem very certain on this point.

Unsound behaviour; I expect an adult apology tomorrow

  19. I don’t agree with Canman much however he has his own convictions. I dont know what got him banned but I hope it was not for his strongly held beliefs which are his to own. I got warned off for a few late night sweary comments back at the start of the CQN and the rules are easy enough to understand, but I really don’t like to see anyone banned, unless it is genuinely to help them take a break. It’s a blog, we are grown ups, if I don’t like what I see I walk on by. Hail hail
