Pure, athletic, Thatcherism

935

It’s all politics.  Not actual politics, in the strict definition of the word, but clubs’ dealings with the SPFL and SFA is mostly about politically manoeuvring in the direction to win your argument.

Experienced political operators will tell you not to fight the same people on too many points; pick the important areas to win and take a few defeats on the chin.  Box the SPFL into a corner by not charging season ticket holders for entry into play-off matches, and you’re onto a sure win.  But all SPFL clubs are members of the SFA.

They all like being given their place.  If I wanted something important from the SFA, like exemption from the rule prohibiting directors of a liquidated club from subsequently becoming a club director, I’d concentrate on that and ask politely for permission to let season ticket holders into games.

But I realise there are different types of political animal.  The consensus political animal is effective in certain times, then there are those who have a self-righteous tone to rules.  It’s their way or the highway.  To paraphrase Bob Shankly, pure, athletic, Thatcherism.  Britain wasn’t ready for Thatcherism 30 years ago.  She won in 1979 and lost lots of votes second time around in ’83, but the Labour vote split.  The 80s were lean.  For some.

Scottish football is in for a period where a self-righteous entity will muster its forces.  The media coverage will reflect what we saw in politics in the 80s.  The consensus operators must stand firm and unite.

KEVJ was right…..The board are doing nothing to challenge their cheating and honest mistakes.

They are running amok without a word being said.

PL gets disparaged by the hun press, after we are blatantly cheated.

You could hear a pin drop….tumbleweeds.

It looks to me, like PL and some of his handshaking pals, are right at the back of the bus.

They can what they like…..we just take it.

    Feck that.

Well the Club don’t agree with you for a start on the Guidetti incident.

“We are very surprised and disappointed that this has even found its way to an SFA judicial panel”

You have totally ignored the context of the incident. He was asked in the interview if there was a song the supporters sing about him.

He quoted what they sing, he hardly belted it out.

It’s trumped -up nonsense by people desperate to show us up in a bad light any way they can.

I`m not too impressed with Kris Commons already wishing for a rest over the last few matches if the league has been won.

He already has a week off with the semi final loss.

They never paid taxes or creditors, cheated their way to trophies galore and stole millions from Celtic and the other Scottish clubs and we are concerned about calling them huns?

    Seriously?

I don’t disagree. All I was asking is why do we have to include a reference to Rangers in a song about one of our players?

I wish some on here would realise, that we are being totally shafted, left, right, and centre, by people who struggle to string a decent sentence together.

Its a shame that it cant be challenged.

In a show of unity the SPFL and the SFA are considering a new set of rules which will cover all competitions in Scotland starting in season 2015- 2016.

    The proposed new rules include

    1. Celtic will be deducted 20 points at the start of the season to make for a fairer more competitive league .

    2. Celtic players will not be allowed to

    (a) tackle

    ( b) score

In any games they participate in , unless they are losing by more than 3 goals .

    3. Celtic players will at all times be booked for their first tackle.

    4. A Celtic player will be assumed to be offside if he gets anywhere near the opposition goal .

    5. Celtic supporters at all away matches will be charged double the normal admittance price and treated like dirt until the local law enforcement officers can get them out of town .

    6. Celtic supporters must sit in silence at all grounds in Scotland anyone breaking this rule shall have their door kicked in at 4am and will spend the next 24 hrs in a police cell .

    7. RFC shall be considered to be the same club founded in 1872/73 , sanctions for breaking this rule include .

    (a) football banning order for supporters.

    (b) points deductions for clubs .

    8. All clubs ( except the club playing out of Ibrox ) must live within their means .

    9. All referees / match officials must be accredited by WATP .

    10. Finally , all of these rules will be rigidly applied BUT if felt necessary NEW rules will be thought up as required .

The Scottish Media will be in charge of the Compliance Office .

This is a private email , under no circumstances should these details be share with anyone outside the craft until we can vote these rules in at the next goat sharing meeting .

Tuesday 28th April was WMD,Workers Memorial Day,

Every year more people are killed at work than in wars.

Most don`t die of mystery ailments,or in tragic “accidents”.

They die because an employer decides their safety just wasn`t that important a priority.

Today is International Workers Day…………Labour Day.

As a retired Worker I will celebrate with my fellow “Horny-Handed Sons of Toil”,then of to Paradise for another celebration of “Celticness”.

  21. The huns aren’t easily offended. And definitely not by the word hun. They are simply using the PC bandwagon to their own ends – TO PISS US OFF.

And it’ll work. Because they’ll bleat on about it for long enough, that through association, the word hun will eventually be deemed sectarianly offensive.

I think this blog shows how horribly divided scotland has become.

To deny that voting the SNP would reduce the chances of a labour govt in the UK is just hilarious.

    But here we are….

How horribly divided Scotland has become.

Has it ever been anything other than divided?

THEY are professionals at the being offended game.

Hold an Irish march and THEY will get up at five in the morning and travel miles to be offended.

It was THEIR being offended at a flag flying in the Falls Road where THEY would never set foot. that was one of the catalysts for thirty years of mayhem in NI.

Sadly it is not so long ago that Martin was telling us that the chiefly offended in the above was a fine fellow.
