Paddy Roberts is exceptional and will go to the very top. we could have him for the next 3 years as he grows into a real top class player and sell him for a profit.
IMHO, it’s not down to Peter Lawwell; Brendan Rodgers is the man who is dictating what happens in terms of the playing staff and he will be backed by the club. £10M to £15M on roberts is and investment.
The reality is that if we had Dembele, Tierney and Roberts we would have 2 20 year olds who would be worth a combined £75M plus! Just think about that. In 3 years they would earn us that in UCL money as part of Brendan Rodgers revolution.
We have truly exciting times ahead of us!

Today feels like justice for a lot of past pain.
I was watching the game in my sedate suburban house while my sedate suburban housewife made lunch for a bunch of in laws who were due in an hour
When the 2nd goal went in I leapt from the couch and screamed a primeval scream of ” get the f..k in”

loved it today.for all the ghirls and bhoys who remember the early 90’s that was brilliant as good as anything I can remember at Ibrokes. They have no answer to our movement pace strength power and skill. I thought we took it easy at times it could have been 5-0 at HT 8 or 9 at FT the score flattered them. Over the games with them this season I thought the first one flattered us slightly as they had a good chance at 2-1, the games since flattered them they have been lucky no to get humped by this score on a couple of occasions.
The summer is gonna be interesting, I have the faith that Brendan will deliver, he has delivered beyond my wildest dreams so far and I have the faith he will deliver beyond them even more.
Paddy is a player, but he may not be in Brendans plans, who knows, he may sign a player we all think wtf, but look what he has done with the players many thought were on the way out, players who were getting scapegoated week in week out the past couple of years, I have the faith.
No way on Gods earth will Pedro sanction a spend like that, no matter what you think, Pedro still holds the purse strings mi amigo.
If we were in among the big boys it would be a no brainer, we are still struggling in scotland where at the end of the day we still have to look after the pennies im afraid.
Brilliant. Glad you took it in the manner it was meant.

What I find interesting is that BR has been playing James Forrest over Patrick Roberts most of the season when both have been available.
However, in the last 2 games he has selected Roberts; this indicates that he may possibly be seeing him as potentially being here next season?
I may be reading too much into it, but it is one way of looking at it.

Peter Lawwell is the Chief Executive and the whole dynamic has changed with the arrival of Brendan Rodgers. The (trusted) Manager now controls the playing side and will operate a budget set by the Board, not the Chief Executive. I firmly believe that if he wants Patrick Roberts, they will back him on it.
Peter Lawwell has, IMHO, done a great job in the last few years and we are (financially) in a great place. We are now able to reap the rewards of that prudent fiscal management.
It is and I hope you are right, but no way will he be at us next season at the money you mentioned, Man City if they want rid and are willing to do a deal, so many things need to fall into place, I have heard his Ma wants him to stay, but have not a clue if that’s true or not.
Had we said last year that the likes of Boyata and Forrest would be what they are this season, we may well have been sectioned, nobody could have seen RD getting the P45, well we could have seen the P45 and Brendan coming in and doing what he has.
To be fair your TV appearance I thought the same as you bhoy.
I didn’t celebrate a single goal today in the manner I used to celebrate a goal against the originals. TBH the first, maybe, but each goal just brought on laughter. Laughter ridiculing their appearance of grandure. It was a guilty pleasure. Like watching that Sabrina pool music video in the 90’s.
I think the deal will hinge on Paddy himself, if he fancies a crack at the EPL he will go, if he fancies another year developing under a very good manager and coaching team at a great club going into the CL then he won’t.
I get the feeling Man City won’t be impossible to deal with should the P Bhoy want to stay.
Wether he goes or stays I have every confidence this team will continue to grow under Mr Rodgers.
I hope he stays tho’ smashing fitbaw brain and a player who has been in the right places his whole career.

Loved reading through all the posts here since i got back :)))))))
Couldn’t help thinking of Brasil 70 with our 5th.
Not that it was as good a goal as their 4th that day!
Watched a programme recently about THAT goal and why it was Carlos Alberto that was on the end of it.
Basically it came down to the fact that Zagallo knew Italy’s left back, Fachetti would man mark Jairzinho and would follow him everywhere, so Jairzinho was telt(translation) to come inside and drag Fachetti with him thus leaving the space that Pele rolled the ball into for the rampaging Alberto to stride onto to blooter into the corner of the net.
I think Lustig’s initial involvement at our 5th was down to a tactical recognition of how Sevco would be deploying their players at that point and as a result of our management team being so switched on…….Lustig was actually technically way out of position while he was winning that ball in the middle of the pitch but it perhaps shows the thinking on the sidelines……..or maybe ive had a few toooooo many?
Anyway………..gotta love what he proceeded to do afterwards!!!!!!! :))))))))))))))
