A wee repost from last Wednesday morning but with updated figures ;-)

With 5 (NOW 4) league games still to play, a wee reminder of the incentives to keep on keeping on –
Our best ever achievements in the top flight have been –
103 points (2001-02) – we’re currently on 91 (NOW 94) so need to win 4(3) out of 5(4) to equal that. But 4(3) wins and 1 draw would give us a new record.
105 goals (2003-04) – we’re currently on 87 (NOW 91) so need to average 4 a game. Unlikely (AFTER YESTERDAY, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE).
33 wins in a season (2001-02) – so far we’ve won 29 of our 33 games so need to win all 5 for a new PB.
32 game unbeaten run (2003-04) – we’ve already beaten that one as we’re curently unbeaten after 33 (NOW 34).
Fewest defeats in a season – 1 (2001-02) – I think we are all aware that we are 5 (NOW 40 more away from a new , invincible, record.
Seeing as I’m up with the lark, I think I’ll take a walk in the park.

…or has the Season been extended to make the undefeated possibility a tad harder?

A decent performance against very poor opposition imo. If we had taken our chances we would have scored double figures.

A wee clip of your average Celtic fan this morning as they head out to Asda or whatever ………
We were discussing Griff / Moussa after the game yesterday, two terrific strikers in very different ways, my opinion is Mouusa will move sooner or later, Leigh if he stays on the right side of Brendan could be with us for years to come, I am a massive Griff fan, play the Bhoy who scores the goals, even in this season where injury has hampered him and the team’s excellent form while Leigh has been out, he still has a good number of goals
Will leave Brendan to sort it out, he gets paid more than us :-)

Watching the game again it’s half time and we’re looking good. Bit concerned about the ole’s from us on 40 odd mins. We must not let complacency creep in.
Ref watch:
This must be the first Celtic game I’ve watched in ages that’s been refereed in a ‘normal’ manner.
A couple of understandable mistakes.
No kicking us off the park.
No game management
No cheating.
At our penalty the officials had a collective 10 second discussion before a finger was pointed at the spot.
It suggests that someone somewhere has noticed the farcical and embarrassing officiating of our last couple of games could not continue.
Second half starting.
Over and out.

The most eloquent testament to the elegance and guile of Celtic was a half empty Ibrox with 15 minutes still to play.
Credit the referee too, he did have a good game, and his humanity is above reproach evidenced by publicly, and against convention, by putting Rangers out of their weeping misery without a single second of extra time.
He didn’t get a 100% mark for his officiating but he came very close. The only thing I can fault the ref for is he was too easily suckered by Garner going to ground every time Boyata glanced at him.
A £600,000 luxury villa owned by Rangers striker Kenny Miller has been raided by police.
Officers swooped at the detached home near Eaglesham, south of Glasgow , on Thursday night.
The tenant, Billy Steele, 35, was already in custody after being arrested on the south side of Glasgow. He later appeared in court over drugs allegations.
A property in Strathaven, Lanarkshire, was searched in a raid connected to the Eaglesham operation and Gary Campbell, 48, was arrested.
The villa was raided on Thursday evening

As I said 100% with you on Paddy and your hope is my hope.
As for big Dedryk I note he was not put under pressure by our own players as often as he has the last few weeks, where he was being passed the ball while surrounded by opposition players, that kind of pressure saps the confidence especially if losing the ball and stupid supporters blame him and not the player who made the stupid pass.
A few more games like that and he will be wanting the ball under pressure because his confidence will be sky high.

I know this might be controversial and I apologise in advance if I offend anybody, but I’m sorry, it just needs to be said,,, Garner is a FUD, a totally useless FUD, and so is anybody, regardless of their qualifications or credentials, who thinks Garner is a football player.
Rangers fans have been left furious after claiming Celtic ‘s Scott Brown should have been sent off for elbowing Kenny Miller.
The clash came during the Scottish Premiership match at Ibrox.

Big Boyatta – any boy of a treadmill at midnight in a bid to become a Bhoy…..I can’t help but warm to.
He now also has superb baby dreads, reminiscent of a young Robert Nesta Marley. He attacks a header, in defence and to score. And the joy on his face when he or a team mate scores is do evident.
Indeed the mutual joy and how they celebrate one another’s goals is a hallmark of this team.
Big dedryck benefits from having middies who offer him options. Simple but true. Yesterday he had them.

I went down to pick him up when they got back. Some of the CSC had tied Celtic scarves round lamposts , tricolours wrapped round the bus stop in front of the new restaurant , mata hari , in the main street.
I passed through the village about two hours later and they were gone unfortunately.

Very happy to see Mikael Lustig get on the scoresheet yesterday, he’s a Celt through and through and just what you need when you go to Poundland to play in front of the baying orcs.
He shut them right up and they still be hiding underneath their duvets this morning.

Re Stats on our best season, 2001/2002 was one League defeat, I don’t think I need to remind anyone here that we lost 2 other domestic games.
Re Jozo’s tackle after the game I scrolled back on RM to see how they reacted expecting outrage but was amazed a few of them actually admitted it was a brilliant tackle and I don’t think any of them complained. I think Walker’s initial reaction was wrong but instead of admitting he was wrong when he saw the re-run tried to justify himself and instead made a clown of himself.
P.S. I thought Beaton & his team reffed the game fairly & got all the big calls spot on.
