Reason to enjoy Wednesday night number 67

Reason to enjoy Wednesday night number 67: Victor Wanyama didn’t get booked.

21-year-old Victor is a fabulous talent but he has also been a tad rash in his earlier Champions League outings this season.  One more yellow card will bring a suspension but his timing, and more importantly, his concentration, on Wednesday was excellent. This is a player maturing; more to come.

The 1254125 charity cycle left Lurgan this morning for Belfast port where they caught a ferry to Cairnryan. After they set wheel on Scotland they have a 37 mile cycle to Maybole, 7 miles of which is uphill, one of the most difficult parts of the endeavour.

They are people with the spirit of this club pumping through their veins right now. Check out their everyclick page for more information.

  1. Missus is catching up with Holby from Tuesday night just now.

In the operating theatre one of the doctors bursts into the Celtic Song!!!!!

  2. The edited version of what took place at Ibrox yesterday during the half-time interval does not tell the whole story.

It was not a solemn remembrance but a triumphalistic and jingoistic bigot fest.

A large number if not the majority of the soldiers acted in this way, waving scarfs and dancing about in a triumphant way.

There was also a large bouncy done by the troops at the foot of the terracing with the fans doing likewise.

All of this to the tune of Rule Brittania (twice) and the Sash.

    Dignity indeed.

I fully expect our eagle-eyed media to condemn this roundly.

P.S. I made the last bit up for a laugh.

  3. Well that’s big Vic’s future sorted,arrogant English tw*ts.

    ——————————————————————————–

“That display has put him right in the shop window and Celtic will do very well to hold on to him,” claimed Neville.

United have already made moves in preparation to bring the Celt to Old Trafford – Sir Alex Ferguson’s brother Martin who works as a scout for the club was spotted in the stands on Wednesday night.

Premier League strugglers Queen’s Park Rangers opened the bidding for Wanyama in the summer with an offer worth £10 million, amid increasing interest from Arsenal and Sunderland.

Wanyama, via his agent, has already confirmed publicly that he will not be signing a new deal at Parkhead, exacerbating the race to sign him. Neil Lennon has taken a bold stance on the topic and in light of his recent performances, most notably against Barcelona both home and away, his value has undeniably risen.

He was bought for just £900,00 in 2011 – some profit on a player who has just celebrated his 21st birthday.

He’s made 10 league appearances and scored an impressive 4 goals from midfield this term and shows no signs of slowing down.

His refusal to sign a contract extension effectively says “come and get me” to the highest bidder, which looks set to be either Manchester United or Manchester City.

It appears Victor Wanyama will be playing his football in Manchester next season but, as yet, it’s unknown as to what colour he’ll be wearing.

    Red or Blue?

Most of the time I prefer the away matches myself.

First and foremost I am a Celtic supporter.

The club requires income to survive and prosper .

I am fortunate that I have disposable income that I can put the clubs way.

I find it frustrating that fans that have enough disposable income do not choose to give it to Celtic as opposed to Ryan Air,Dundee Utd.etc.

Each person has the the right to choose .

Your fellow supporters don’t sound like glory hunters to me.

My frustration is with the glory hunters ,who claim to be “Big” Celtic men.

A67 – people have the right to spend their hard-earned how they like.

Also, look back at our domestic attendances prior to the stadium re-build. They varied wildly depending on the opposition.

I’ve had my season ticket since the North Stand opened, but I’ve swithered about renewing each year for the last 4 or 5. Sitting 200 feet up freezing my nuts off, watching games like the recent loss to Kilmarnock and thinking I could be home watching the racing.

I also miss games due to work commitments, but try and make sure my season card is used by one of my mate’s bhoys….if they interested in going!

Most of us are sick of SPhell and special nights like Wednesday just whet the appetite for seeing our club playing in an environment where it truly belongs.

I might not renew in May/June, if that makes me less of a supporter in some peoples eyes, then I couldn’t give a toss. My only concern, as it has been for the last few years, is the knock-on effect to the club’s turnover.

We can all see that domestic crowds are dwindling and that trend won’t be reversed until we get out of the SPL.

  6. On the way up to CP, I’ve just read back on the kind wishes and words for my dad.

I can’t thank you enough, no words could explain how I feel but your support and thoughts do help.

  7. Andrew67

I’m the same, for a long time away trips have proffered more enjoyment.

The guys I’m referring to are genuine Celtic supporters but I struggle to see the logic in not attending home games.

  8. Andrew67

The mindset of guys who call themselves Celtic supporters who can get to Celtic Park but choose not to go perplexes me.

    I just don’t understand it.

If this young team, managed by Neil Lennon, a manager who has endured what he has to be at OUR Club, if that doesn’t excite them, if that doesn’t motivate them, if that doesn’t make them want to put their shoulder to the wheel of the Celtic cause….well, what would excite them?

Glamour ties against Barcalona? Hatefests against the Govan Club that died?

    Can’t fathom them.

Guys who CAN’T get to the game for financial, geographic or other really good reasons are a different kettle of fish… But those who could, should.

Apart from a couple of seasons under MO when the economy was booming and the team were successful and playing exciting football and CP was almost always full, it was ever thus.

    I wouldn’t worry about it.

Many thanks again for the tickets for Christy on Friday night.

I think Danny is smitten ;-)

I agree with all that you have posted.

I to have swithered at times about renewing my season ticket.Non more so than this season.

It was my birthday the day of the Killie game.

I could have spent it in so many more rewarding ways than watching that dire performance.

There are few Celtic fans ,who wish for Celtic to move on to a more attractive league than the SPL ,than me.

I don’t see you as a glory hunter.

An embarrassment on a par with the BNP laying a wreath at the Cenotaph – something that is kept remarkably quiet every year.

One picture I saw was two numpties from the RAF doing some kind of bizarre dance – one with his trouser leg pulled up to show his union flag sock and the other pointing at it.

A strange way ‘to show respect for the fallen’.

  13. I have a parent and child ticket for one of the business lounges in the North Stand going free for today’s match.

If someone want’s to pay for them or give a donation .

I’d second Mother India. Been several times and always excellent. They have another branch opposite Kelvingrove Art Gallery which does tapas sized dishes. Have also heard good things about Balbirs on Church St near the bottom of Byres Rd.

Wife wanted to tag me in FaceBook from that Fanpic thingy on the club website. After about 15 minutes searching, we eventually worked out why I couldn’t be seen….at my seat all you can see is the bottom of a bovril cup surrounded by ma big baw heid !!

Right my turn to drive today :(

So need to set off shortly with ole grand tour of Edinburgh pick-ups – then off to CP for a fun afternoon :)

  19. Andrew67 i know what you mean. Spoke to a guy yesterday who was delighted to tell me he had secured tickets for the barca game. Don’t know the last time he was at a game. But he knows ghuys who will get him tickets for bigger games. I know ghuys too but i cannot ask because i feel bad as i dont go often enough for geographical reasons. I wouldnt really have called this other guy a celtic supporter- more a sympathiser.

Plus i dont really like him but thats by the by…….

  20. HT, we’re all made up different and so remember the logic you are making use of is ……. Well how God made ye!

So those other bampots that don’t follow your logic, don’t worry….. About a thing.

    A67 – nice touch mate.

I’m meeting CRC at the Celtic Pools office between 1:45 and 2:45pm, if you’re in a hurry and need to drop off the tickets for someone to collect before the game?

    Thanks for helping Wee Oscar.

The St Johnstone game indeed, – 14,000 balanced against the 60,000 against Barca.

Does this mean we have 46,000. ‘part time supporters’, – somehow I don’t think so.

Support Celtic in your own way, but whatever you do, support Celtic.

  23. Bhoys , maybe i’m being paranoid (seriously ! , ed) but i’ve just checked back over this site

http://www.financeandtaxtribunals.gov.uk/Aspx/default.aspx and cannot find as big a timelapse between document releases as there is at the moment – over 2 weeks since the last submission – maybe they’ll say it’s a system glitch , you know the ufh virus.

TTTT , in a similar position to yourself re work commitments – my tix are up for grabs again today so if anyone wants a p&c for 405 , give me a shout .

I don’t think any less of you now as a Celtic supporter than i ever have ;-P

  24. It’s also nice when the part time Celts merge with the hard core every game Bhoys to create what was, IMO one of the best atmospheres ever in any sports arena.

We’re improving on and off the parkCSC
