Record correct, SFA prepare to disband Appellate Panel

1122

This morning’s article in the Daily Record is not a work of fiction.  They reported that SFA chief executive Stewart Regan’s “bid to deliver a broad consensus over the way forward also involved discussions over the appellate tribunal’s transfer embargo on Rangers.”

In short, the SFA discussed changing their rules to disband the Independent Appellate Panel process before instructing Lord Carloway to sit in response to the Court of Session’s rejection of his previous judgement.

With two further Independent Judicial Tribunals still to sit in judgement on the actions of Rangers, for the illegal registration of players and non-payment of social taxes during the EBT era, the SFA will also subvert these rules before ‘Rangers’ are expelled from the Association.

After the meeting Regan left for his summer vacation without instructing Lord Carloway to convene the Appellate Panel.

That’s not all.

The scam to establish an SLP 2 in order to allow the SFA and SPL to co-opt ‘Rangers’ into that league is what the governing bodies have planned for your game.

If rules are changed AFTER a club is found guilty and in receipt of a penalty in order to nullify that penalty the game in this country is broke, ethically and financially.  Having established independent judicial panels to deal with serious rule breaches the SFA cannot do Rangers bidding without removing all judicial oversight.

We’re back to the days of George Peat walking in and out of hearings for the Celtic manager.

Most disturbingly of all, YOU are the cash cow for this outrageous enterprise.  With Rangers gone from the SPL Celtic fans bring all the commercial and television income into the game, and are set to buy more away ground tickets than all other clubs put together.

You are expected to continue to cough up for tickets to Tynecastle, Rugby Park etc, and subscribe to ESPN and Sky Sports – money which will divvied up among SPL 1 and SPL 2 teams, as well as they rest of the Scottish Football League clubs, to compensate for them missing out on a ‘Rangers’ game.

You will also pay more money for those tickets than any other group of fans in the league.  Why don’t you just write a cheque to Kilmarnock, Falkirk or Cowdenbeath today?

This nonsense will not bring another £1 into the game, all it will do is redistribute money from your pocket to clubs who care nothing for you.  Partick Thistle yesterday released a statement on their site, “We believe Scottish football needs to be restructured, financial distribution needs to be fairer for all clubs”.

“Financial distribution needs to be fairer”!  Patrick Thistle get to keep all their ticket sales, commercial and other income.  By “fairer” they mean they want some of your money.  If you agree with them, write them a cheque, but if you disagree, you better figure out what to do next.

Thoughts that some great victory has been achieved are premature.   Prepare for the next instalment.

Our domestic competition is, at best, uninspiring.  This disgusting land-grab for your cash will destroy our ability to compete in Europe, and it’s not just the senior team who will suffer.  The Celtic youth system costs millions to operate each year, don’t fantasise that it will survive intact.

Celtic currently employ 27 Scotland youth internationals.  They are almost single-handedly carrying the future of our national team.  This attempt to bleed your club dry will devastate all areas, with subsequent consequences for the Scotland team.

It’s not often I’ve told you the Daily Record have nailed a story but this one is on the money (your money).  I’m at a loss as to what to do next.

We cannot accept this.

If all the wrongdoing was made public then the hun brand, old or new, would be so toxic that no one (including sponsors, advertisers and TV companies) would want to be associated with them for fear of contamination by association.

So perhaps we should be asking when the result of the FTT tribunal is expected and whether the decision will be made public.

  13. Regarding the cancellation of television subscriptions, perhaps Phil McG could use some of his investigative prowess to get the figures/rate of cancellation and do a wee article on it. I’m sure Sky, ESPN, etc would want to suppress this information in an attempt to prevent the Domino effect. Mobilisation of all fan bases is required and perhaps a concerted effort to get all Scottish football fans, who care about sporting integrity, to cancel their subscriptions citing the behaviour of the Boards of the SPL, SFA, etc towards Newco as the reason for the cancellation.

It’s about time the “establishment” were put in their place by the only people who really matter, true football fans. The reason Scottish football is in the state it is in, with a poor National team and a poor European competitive record from its domestic clubs, is down to one club and one club only! It beggars belief that they want to bend over backwards to allow that club’s spawn entry into the SPL/SFL 1.

Scottish football fans say NO to RC Ogilvie and his cohorts!

  18. apart from McCabe and Aluko do we know which other players are deserting the sinking ship?

  19. Spot on, Auldheid [@ 11:51]

The potential consequences of a place being engineered at or near the top of the game for this particular Newco is almost too bleak to contemplate.

I could be wrong, but I am optimistic that the momentum which has built up behind the SPL ‘No Newco’ vote will transfer to the lower division clubs, in the event that a serious attempt is made by the Masonic blazerati to create a stitch up such as that which is feared.

That said, I think a good number of the SFL chairmen will presently be rubbing their hands in joy at the prospect of entertaining Triggers Broom FC for a season or two, but I think many fans of lower-flight clubs will mobilise themselves in the same way their counterparts have in the SPL. If I’m right, then it will quickly become apparent to all that for the game to have a long-term future due process must be followed, with (sporting) integrity given its rightful place.

That must have been some feeling and some day matey, at least they done it by playing by the rules all the more sweeter.

  22. I have not posted for a while, enjoying the carnage the orcs are suffering. Paul 67 has not got too much wrong so far, but in this instance he’s taken the bait. It’s kite-flying.

Gordon Smith should be asked how on earth he managed to get the gig as SFA president, and what upholsterer makes his barnet.

The time-line remaining does not allow for any shake-up of leagues. No other clubs, including Celtic, seem to have been consulted. That would cause uproar in any football setup in any country.

Celtic have kept their powder dry. This is the biggest attempt so far to draw them out into revealing their hand. They should still sit tight.

Delia, oh Delia, How I love you dearly.—-45 teams have played in the EPL. That’s very good. How much money did the top clubs share with them?

Those clubs were well supported for their size and well run for the most part. Some went to the wall a la Rangers for overspending, but were kept alive by varios schemes involving banks, supporters, business etc.

What would happen if clubs like these went to Man Utd, City< Arsenal, Chelsea etc and said "Give us some of YOUR money" ?. Want to give an answer?

It's the equivalent of the Beatles at a concert where they are told that the ventriloquist, the magician, the harmonica band and the rest are getting some of their money because they share the same stage.

Forget that the crowd have come to watch the Beatles.

Now transfer that thought to a football league.

    Get it?

Lastly, not a peep has been heard from EUFA or FIFA. Do you think that this will be the case no matter what the SPL, SFA or the SFL do?

    No, neither do I.

Including them now would be a mistake that could never be rectified. They couldn’t be ejected later should a wave of integrity hit the SFA.

Ejecting them now is different. They will work their way back and will be re-included once their house is in order and they meet the criteria.

That those in charge don’t see it like this speaks volumes about their utter lack of morality, credibility and concern for the good of the scottish game.

    SFL Membership

The interesting difference between SFL and SPL is that membership of the SFL does not give ‘automatic’ right to SFA membership. The SFA membership then must be applied for separately and SFL membership is not confirmed until the SFA membership position is cleared.

Cue – Regan pelvic floor disaster. He might need to do something. Especially as he knows that sevco 5088 is NOT ELIGIBLE.
