Referring to a team no longer with us

753

Let’s be clear, you cannot punish a player on the basis that he has made a comment which is only offensive, offence is subjective, highly so in Scottish football, where thousands await the opportunity.

Nor can you punish a player for a derogatory remark which may offend, especially if the remark does not call into question the probity of the subject.  “Hearts are rotten, we beat them easily twice this season”, is a derogatory remark and will offend some Hearts fans, but it also falls into the category of being a fair opinion.

And without pointing out the obvious, you cannot offend the dead.  John Guidetti and the club are right to contest this ridiculous charge, which by context, clearly refers to a team no longer with us.

I was absolutely astonished to read that newco (and former oldco) director, Paul Murray, explained Dave King’s absence from newco’s recent share as he is waiting until the SFA “have completed their review of Dave’s status before he can fully participate in the future of the Club”.

The SFA have no issue whatsoever in Dave King investing heavily in newco, or in owning all shares.  Indeed, King is already the largest shareholder, which has attracted no attention from the football authorities.

The prospect of King sloping off if the SFA judge him not Fit and Proper (which I think they will), is a fabulous twist in the work of this legendary non-executive director of a dead club.  He sat on the oldco board which paid EBTs for so many years, he stayed while they made no provision for the HMRC tax case, plunging into the transfer market instead.  Now he awaits the whim of the SFA before deciding to invest, having led newco away from their primary source of funding.

What a star.

You are possibly right but last week’s cup replay is the last SFA tournament I will buy a ticket for. I won’t miss Hampden.

We probably all know some that we would class as huns and some that we would class as Rangers(In Liquidation) fans.

The ones that i would not call huns are the ones that are just pretty normal guys going to watch their football team and i could actually talk to normally with about football, but there are few of them.

Doing that with someone i class as a hun is not possible because they are the obnoxious, aggressive, arrogant, ignorant and often violent ones.

    I do not hate ordinary Rangers(In Liquidation)fans.

What i do bother about though, is a persons character and behaviour and huns are awful people.

I hate THEM for how they are and how they act, without knowing anything about their religious belief.

    Awful people.

What’s the purpose of the staged Vincent Lunny comments on the citing of JG? He isn’t doing that off his own back and it smacks of SFA subterfuge. Are they changing tack on the basis of the complaint now that Celtic have queried it?

I think he has moved on, replaced by Tony McGlennan, who with the Ciftci and Butcher incidents on his CV looks a lightweight.

    Sometimes it is great fun.

Then there are times when it is thought provoking, informative, and even maybe moves the debate forward. Your post was one of these times.

I agree but unless Celtic FC refuse to play the SFA game, Celtic minded people will buy tickets, thereby negating any attempted protest.

All I am saying is as of now, we are locked into winning the treble.

The most grievous bodily harm those who hate us can endure is for us to win the treble.

From that position, Treble winners, we can wield some influence, maybe even a bhoycott.

There is only one guy I know who hates Scotland more than some on here. He is a young Polish mate from the east of that country. He despises benefits, the whorish women (his words) etc. So he went home to his pig farm. Thing is, he has to come back. Oh well. He doesn’t like central Poland either mind you. Only the east..

1.There is only one guy I know who hates Scotland more than some on here</i

In all my years, I don’t remember anyone saying here – he hates Scotland. I could give many examples of what the Scots (CQNers) don’t like in Scotland but this is completely different story.

What’s your point in giving the example of the Pole who hates Scotland more than SOME on here?

Are you trying to wind people up and rise animosity against the Poles who come to earn money but they hate the place where they work?

2.He is a young Polish mate from the east of that country..

Are you suggesting the fact he comes “from the east of that country” which is closer to your roots that Russia is means he is wiser than those from central Poland?

I assure you there is no animosities between the sides of the country. If there is something, it’s not between the east and central Poland. It’s something that we can see in the other countries – cultural differences, language, simple social splitting – a village and a city.

    3. He despises benefits, the whorish women (his words) etc..

So, he despises benefits but… he leaves his family and farm and moves to the country he hates, for the benefit reason?

The whorish man that Pole is (my words).

    the whorish women (his words).

The order of the words and phrase you put after this one suggest he said that about women from country that is …. Oh , No!!! There must be women in your life Captain Beefheart. Is this guy still your friend ?

Huge majority will understand why I’m not going to develop this one.

4.So he went home to his pig farm..

The farms in Poland are generally very small and I think 99 percent of them are run by one man who is the head of the family. The Pole from your heartbreaking story is young. Is he married? Does he have children? Did he leave his very small children to take care about his pigs and he (poor guy) flew to the country he hates to earn some money? Well, I hope, if I’m right, his children are really small and young and they don’t have to miss the school for the benefit of the pigs. Benefit, benefit, again benefit. I hope in a couple of years when a young Pole children are 6 and have to go to school , the Pole is back to his lovely eastern Poland.

To be more serious, I feel the pain of the Pole when he must make a choice – it’s YOUR Scotland or the pigs, the pigs or YOUR Scotland, Scotland or the pigs….Well it’s hard choice to make.

5.Thing is, he has to come back..

Why? He needs to get more money from the country he hates? He can’t sleep because his wise pigs from eastern Poland know he is not their anymore and they scream during all nights and days – Go home ya Hun? He can’t sleep?

    6.Only the east.

    Yes, I agree.

Irrespective of their names which draws conclusions, these guys were/are there because they made a conscious decision to join the Organisation,so unless they came from the Moon they knew the background of the Organisation and what would be expected of them.

I do not see the Compliance Officer as some kind of untouchable Ombudsman who is responsible to some higher authority external to the SFA,wish he was but until that time arrives expect ongoing irrational outpourings.

And that’s the way we like it…

I think it’s absolutely essential (and years too late) that Celtic engage the services of a top flight PR firm, account managed by someone in the know, sharp as a tack and hard as feck.

We are witnessing a concerted attack on the club, undoubtedly orchestrated by the huns but eagerly facilitated by their MSM poodles. It aims to sully our fans, our players, the club’s honestly won achievements and it’s very standing. It’s an assault on both the soul of the club and it’s business. It is an intolerable state of affairs that just would not happen in any other country in the world. The most successful, the richest, the best supported and best run club in the country, with the greatest international reputation, is being blackguarded by Sevco because it needs such conflict in order to keep it’s own customers interested – all the more so as another year in the doldrums beckons, and latest saviours turn out to be full of wind and pish – while the MSM are happy to play ball because it’s target market is the same people. To do nothing is unacceptable.

The right PR people can school the players into saying something and nothing at the same time, winding down the few minutes they have a mic stuck in their faces with banalities (more so than usual). Lots of people have pointed out Ronny seems to just swat these pumpkins away at his pressers but he shouldn’t have to put up with such sh it in the first place, and they WILL get him in the end. He should have a clued up PR guy beside at such occasions who will field the crap about flares etc. Who is the person responsible for the anti Celtic bias at BBC Scotland? Seriously, who is it? We know the identities of scummy journos, we know who hun newspaper editors are/have been: who is responsible – currently responsible – for allowing/sanctioning/approving this, and why isn’t Lawwell sitting down with him? And his opposite number at STV? Has he sought redress from Sky over that odious little sh it Tanner?

The right PR people can publicly take the huns and SFA to task over the real examples of sectarianism in Scottish football and their refusal to address it. The right PR people can damn the shameful wall of silence surrounding the huns reveling in child abuse. The right PR people can help Celtic fight back in a way those at the club simply can’t. It’s essential.
