Regan on SFA acting without fear

944

“The Scottish FA has a responsibility to all its members and must implement its rules without fear or favour”.  Stewart Regan, SFA chief executive, 24 April 2012.

What chance the SFA will be able to act without fear now?  I don’t imply they will act without favour, but do you believe SFA panellists can act without fear?  Anyone who participates in Rangers appeal process and upholds their punishment will act despite fear.

This process, one of the most important the SFA has dealt with in years, has been subverted, and that calls for a far greater sanction that any already imposed.

If it’s uglies yer looking for on here, there will be a few “guest” huns on here if we lose on Sunday.

  2. Nuclear Bovril and a Half Munched Pie on

So what do we think the outcome of the appeal will be?

    1. SFA cave

    2. Descision upheld

    3. Penalties increased (well you can but hope)

Pessimistically I am going for number uno, meaningless fines upheld but embargo scrapped or suspended. Optimistically I hope, if this is the case, it will become a relative footnote in their demise once the FTT and dual contracts merde hits their fans.

  3. Re: Neils call to visit the SFA

Do you think there is any chance that we can accept, purely on the rules & regulations of the SFA, which Celtic FC endorse, that Neil has a case to answer?

Squeaky bum time for mr Salmond ……. Might not be only votes he ends up losing …….power is a responsibility, not a drug …..

  5. OK Ally, you’ve made your statement, now tell us why you wanted to know the panel’s names (even though you knew already) and, now that they are known, what are your thoughts on those people?

  6. !!Bada Bing!! on

googybhoy-The decision today has put the SFA under pressure now (you would think !)

  7. I agree with 13 shorts – a ‘Tricolour’ jersey would look like the sort of tat you see at the barras, or in ‘TimLand’. No class. would look ridiculous.

All orange, with orange (or white) shorts, and green-white hooped socks – could look excellent. very ‘Ivory coast’ and would look particularly good on our cadre of black players.

Otherwise, the away kit options (IMO) should avoid ‘gold’ (another Barras colour… ) and stick to simple, classic, understated designs. The huns normally managed it over the years, while we had to endure the 90s horror show thanks to umbro. no more tartan please.

    Plain dark green

    Plain white

    Plain black

Black with a wee bit of silver trim

    Black and green hoops

    Black and green stripes

even the St Etienne sash (http://www.laligaweekly.com/2009/06/the-new-2009-2010-as-saint-etienne-kit.html)

all look the business if done well. We are a Global brand, or at least like to think we are. We might have inferior players, less money than other teams etc, so let’s make sure that the team at least looks top class. Love the new hoops, and the socks are ok as a 1 season souvenir special, but back to white next year please.

I’ve got the Ivory Coast top you refer to-I assume it’s the same one-and it’s a belter.

  9. Here is an interesting wee snippet for your cogitation regarding the Hampden 3.

Without naming names, as that would be completely irresponsible (Swally, Hatefilled), I am fairly confident that I know one of the individuals who sat on the “anonymous” panel. Now did he get his gig as a panel member because he was/is a big pal of former SFA chief executive Wiggy Duffield?

Ironically he IS one of THEIR own!

  10. Traditionalist…

I don’t have any Irish heritage, not a drop of Irish blood as far as my family tree goes.

I have no issue with my football teams heritage, in fact i am proud of our origins but suggesting the fact that I don’t want my team to wear what is essentially the flag of another country means I should not be a Celtic supporter is quite sad really.

Let’s just agree to disagree, your cheap digs are unnecessary. Its the sort of behaviour I’d expect from a Hun.

  11. So the huns are bein defended by a crew that goes beyond mere motley.

    Hately. Atilla the hun himself.

Jardine. The man who only got a game because the bigots didn’t like Danny’s middle name.

    Dallas. Cheat and sectarian bigot.

Smith. The bully who walked away.

And McCoists’s statement is a joke. He knows exactly what the scum that follow his beloved club are capable of.

He should just shut up and stick to what he is best at – failing to win trophies.

Scottish football needs this mob? The sooner they go bust the better.

  12. If the blogger’s on who blogged about ‘political explosion theory’ ???? or summat like that, could you refresh me memory as it’s happening in front of our eyes.

  13. The No.13 Shorts on

I think if Celtic were to release the “Tri-Colour on legs” strip, that it would pander to the lowest common denominator. The fact that it won’t be our strip might, some might argue, prove my point.

Darn it all. The wife’s home and I still haven’t done the chores. See y’all after my suspension.

  15. The Moon Bhoys on

All joking aside – how on earth do they get away with it? Not one single word of remorse, only threats of what they will do to those they deem to be kicking them when they’re down, “who are these people – we need to know” – when he already knew exactly who they were. Mask completely fell away, so now sir Wattie gets wheeled out to do a repair job, and you know what, they’ll all buy it. The whole thing’s beyond a farce, no way am I voting for independence when it comes around, I’m sure they’re behind all of this rangers must be saved garbage. Who really thinks the 12 month transfer ban will be upheld?

Snyde think rankers will win their appeal ……. Nothing changes …….. Heads in the sand

There is no way they will win their appeal……

  17. McCoist did carry Tommy Burns coffin and is an active member of SCIAF . This should not be forgotten . He also worked very closely with St Brides and St Andrew’s HS in EK with schoolboy development .

  18. Good evening friends.

Another couple of cracking European semi finals tonight I think. Hoping the Lisbon Hoops manage to qualify and then gub Athletico Madrid in the final. On our behalf of course.

    Jobo

  19. Smith is a disgrace. The siuation Rangers find themselves in – this is not an inability to pay bills, this is one man choosing not to pay them.

Says the man who signed players with money his club didn’t have and gave them illegal contracts.

I didn’t say you shouldn’t be a Celtic supporter- if you are uncomfortable with Irish colours such as on a strip or flags then I really do think you are following the wrong club.

With regards to you not having a drop of Irish blood, please point out where I said this was a pre-requisite to be a Celtic supporter?

I am talking about the DNA of the club and suggest you re-read my previous posts on this issue again.

There is a small breed of new age Celtic ‘fans’ who are completely out of touch with the heritage of the club and would prefer US to pander to the lowest common denominator elsewhere by diluting our heritage. I have a good friend actually who thinks this way but funnily enough never goes to games except on the odd big occasion and used to go and watch Rangers in the Champions League. He also doesn;t feel comfortable in the presence of groups of Celtic fans when socialising. Go figure.

And why do you have an ‘h’ in your moniker?
