Regan on SFA acting without fear

944

“The Scottish FA has a responsibility to all its members and must implement its rules without fear or favour”.  Stewart Regan, SFA chief executive, 24 April 2012.

What chance the SFA will be able to act without fear now?  I don’t imply they will act without favour, but do you believe SFA panellists can act without fear?  Anyone who participates in Rangers appeal process and upholds their punishment will act despite fear.

This process, one of the most important the SFA has dealt with in years, has been subverted, and that calls for a far greater sanction that any already imposed.

Stop embarassing yourself. I also think you might want to take a little jaunt into a Celtic store sometime soon where you will find lots of goodies being sold which sport the Irish tricolour. You’ll also find the new Ireland kits for sale.

But lets not tell the MSM about that, eh, they might not like it.

  4. I would never dream of phoning any ole MSM Ragers propaganda outlet like Snyde, but if i did, I’d ask,

Fair points, GB, but I might respectfully point out that I have carried a good few coffins in my day, make regular contributions to SCIAF and have close links to local schools, but it doesn’t make me a good guy, or incapable of making shocking mistakes, or – indeed – being a hypocrite or all round badjin.

Let’s face it: Sally is the willing incumbent of the manager’s seat of RFC(IA), an organisation steeped in bigotry and incapable of seeing anything wrong with its ill-gotten status as the establishment club, with all the deep south entitlements that implies.

I challenge you to point our any hint of remorse or humility in anything quoted from the cheeky chap in relation to this matter.

I’d be quite happy if the appeal panel ‘reduced’ the ban from 12 months to until such time as they pay their football – national and international – debts in full.

  17. Ernie et al,

I hold no brief for McCoist .I am a Celtic man and he is a Rangers man . I was a councillor on EKDC in the 80’s and met him on several occasions. I can assure you he gave up a lot of his time to support youth work in EK without any recompense. I also found Ian Ferguson to be even more willing to help out regardless of who he was working with or helping

  18. The No.13 Shorts on

Why. Would you want a “tri-colour on legs” as a Celtic strip? Nothing against those colours on the strip together. I positively encourage it. Just not in that form. Tacky. Just my opinion. I don’t want to bore anyone anymore on such a hypothetical subject. More important matters. Loving the official new home strip with the Union Jack socks. Most inclusive. (Joke Alert)

  19. Jardine said that the club should be treated differently because of the club’s stature and said that the outcome had implications for other clubs, including direct action taken by Rangers supporters groups.

Can’t believe the bully/billy boys think its acceptable to go around threatening individuals, state bodies, sponsors etc etc, i had felt a tinge of regret that the ordinary Rangers (IA) fan is suffering but its the lunatic fringe that are getting all the publicity. I now hope they become the “NewCo Cosmos” with their trialists in Division 3. It might just be a good thing for scottish football in the long run, lessons learned, and a massive financial boost for division 3,2 &1, like 2 cup games for every club what a windfall if they spend it correctly , pay off debts, upgrade facilities, invest in football camps etc.. 50,000 raging gers fans with dignity and loyalty with a grudge against sfa et al, with them packing out every away ground and should they get promoted back to the spl they will have done the time for the crime. Meanwhile the spl will be getting more competitive, call me a cynic but PL will never get a better opportunity to downsize and sell players (lots of previous but hope im proved wrong) while at the same time 4/5 other teams have a chance to qualify for europa group stage. More of a level playing field for everyone looks like. Hope spl don’t shirk this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Huns 7/2 to win at Paradise on Sunday

I can’t think of such a price for the away team in a Glasgow derby in circa 20 years?

The Glasgow Derby at ipox when they banned us (imagine that lot banning anyone) sure the Tic were 7/2 that day.

I think if Celtic were to release the “Tri-Colour on legs” strip, that it would pander to the lowest common denominator. The fact that it won’t be our strip might, some might argue, prove my point.

    ——————-

Exactly who would the lowest common denominator be? It will not be our strip? – if it has the Celtic club crest and issued via Celtic FC it is ‘our strip’.

125 years since a group of Irishmen founded the club, yet some would object to the club honouring the memory of our founding fathers and the community it was created to help by ‘potentially’ wearing the colours of an EU country.

Sandy Jardine was embarrassing today and the real punishments and natural justice haven’t arrived yet. Do they honestly feel they should be let off? Not one ounce of humility.
