There was only a minute between Celtic’s second and third goals against Partick Thistle on Friday evening but for that moment, a remarkable statistic had currency. Stuart Armstrong scored three and assisted two of Celtic’s six previous goals in the league. This is a level beyond an incredible upgrade in form.
Watching Stuart’s blossoming in recent weeks, you still get he’s been playing within himself for much of the last two years. It could be that the inverted-left-winger role didn’t suit him, or that the step up to the pressures of playing for Celtic inhibited him to the extent that the levels of confidence necessary to perform were not to be found.
Even now, watching his body language on the field, and in interview, he looks like he’s still finding his way. I’m pretty sure there’s more to come from him, given the necessary support.

Was the 4 V 2 game more enjoyable than the 6 v 2 game.
Maybees aye maybees naw, for the first one I was in the Jungle and for the second one is was about 500ft directly above the same spot in the NS upper ( when are they gonna change that to the Tommy Burns stand by the way), Loved them both as they both were significant victories in our history.

I do not think anybody has replied to you on this.
Thrre were no huns in the Jungle that night of the 4-2:game-other than some police who happened to be there. By 1977 at the latest the Jungle was exclusively for Celtic supporters

I’m wanting to get shot of a 10m x 4m Marquee used once for a BBQ, it’s taking up to much room in my hut,can’t find instructions to erect it,but they should be somewhere in the hut. Free to a good home.

Maybe Big Dan will take the chairs off you :-)

Fave game ?
Vojvodina in March 67 .
A great team . They missed an absolute sitter at the start of the game ( had they scored it -who knows ? ) . The rising tension re the possibility of there having to be a 3rd game . The joy at the 90th minute winner / the worry that the one handed Ref might have thought there had been a foul before it … Buying a Thai Stick in the State Bar on the way home and then getting blasted in a mate’s bedsit in Rose St ,Garnethill -listening to the first Grateful Dead Lp which had arrived by post that very morning … Floated through my milk round the following morning–.
Sunny -mid teens -way down south .. First Christmas choon of the season –

Thanks.
Tommy Burns Stand? Meaning to disrespect to the Celtic great, whom I loved dearly, there are many ahead of him in that in that line up, Tommy would be up there yes, but IMO not in my top 5 and of course it’s like all things debatable of course.
To some in here that prob. Makes me a Hun, but WGAF? It’s my opinion no big deal.
That should have read not to disrespect, typing era sorry :(

It’s getting plenty of attention, but not from the main stream media, as predicted.
Richie.
Stephen just called me and claimed the Marquee, Dan can have the chairs if he wants them but they may be of use if there’s going to be Another BBQ,Enjoyed meeting you last Friday and thanks for that tip, paid for the day out.

Re the Partizan game,I can still see Anton Rogan running after the ball to get it back into play asap………we were up in the game and in the 3rd minute of added on time,hindsight is great but i’m sure Tommy Burns was an unused sub that night,stick him on and give him the ball to run down the clock……….
___________________________________________
You are right; I can remember a few around me castigating Rogan for running and commenting we should bring a sub on to kill the game!

Pity it’s been claimed already. I was gonna suggest pitching it at WEEFRA’s place and having an alfresco hootenanny!

Goos to see you annaw pal!
btw that was a joke about the chairs, if you remember, I don’t think the Big Man would have much use for them, apart from as firewood!
Goos = Good!

Be very hard to put an argument against those two players, good call, and along the way of my thinking, tossing in a wee Fergus wouldent go a miss either, but it’s all opinions I suppose.

Just read the replies from JPT , I’m afraid in my opinion too much is still being unsaid and no wonder the press say what they like about Celtic and its support, retractions when the reputational damage is done are in my eyes useless unless the rags pay a fine. UEFA delegates not reporting some things is another, remember the fans of a dead club wrecked a city and UEFA done he haw, nothing on the performance and abilities of our press man Mr Jamieson.
Celtic recently staged a sleep out for various charites, Sevco done the same , theirs was on Sky Sports news Celtic’s wasn’t , I think someone needs to get their act together, Celtic as a club does far more for desrving causes than any organisation I know, but who is ware of it unless its on the club website?
North Stand upper—- Tommy Burns Stand.
North Stand Lower——- FERGUS MCCANN Stand.
Sounds good tae me.
Wouldn’t name one after Henrik till after hes managed us,which wont be for a good few years yet I hope.
Now as for the main Stand, I would like to see that named after Mr McGrory or maybe Big Pete. :-)
Tin hat on and away.

Anyone know the fella namechecked here?
From JJ
“Andy Smilie of AS Scaffolding Ltd is telling anybody who wants to listen at Ibrox that he’s had to erect £250k worth of scaffolding because “the roof is f….d.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Btw,the main cost of scaffolding isn’t in the planning and execution. That only accounts for the labour costs.
The brunt of the dunt is in keeping it in place. Once erected,the scaffolding firm charges a daily rate for it to remain on hire. Which ain’t cheap.
DESSYBHOY
Highlighting and publicising acts of charity is uncouth.
I think we should name a stand after Hugh Long.
The 4-2 game was the greatest night of football I ever attended. The fact it was a night match, the situation in the league, the fact it was against the first Ibrox club (remember them?), coming from behind to win, the o.g., that McLeod goal and the utter scenes of Bedlam at the end.
Excitement, fear, ecstasy. Unforgettable.
Oh and I was steamin’ :))
Although I was at most of the games already mentioned on here,I’ll throw a googly into the mix
5-0 v a very good Hibs side in 74. They were above us in the league,and it was the season our title run came to a halt.
But what a performance.
!BADA BING!
Might be getting his apron shoved into his mouth shortly to shut him up!
Bloody knew it Gooners get Bayern M in the CL.
Occurs with the same regularity as Celtic v A catalonian club.
