I utterly abhor racism and could happily describe myself as “woke”.
However, I could find nothing wrong with your post at all. In such a different and alien environment and culture, there’d be absolutely no harm at all in a player having someone around he can relate to and speak the same language etc.

I had the Day oot with the other 11 CQN Bhoys last Friday in the Pub.
I had a Day oot drinking heavily last Sunday again in the ” Shippy” on the Saltmarket.
I had another Day oot drinking in the ” Shippy” on Wednesday.
I MAY venture oot again Today ( Friday) after my day of rest yesterday ?
The above is my first stages of ” Cutting Doon” a bit cos of my health, I am a wee bit wary these days of Drinking large amounts of Beer for TWO Days in a row, as after ONE Day of a Beer Frenzy…I canny stop Peeing the next day ?

I seem to remember when STAN PETROV joined the Hoops, he didnt speak much English and tended to stay alone in an Hotel room day after day after Training and Games with NO Family around him etc and feeling lonely etc.
