BRENDAN RODGERS reckons Celtic are on course for the first silverware of the season which would be Celtic’s 100th major honour.
The Hoops boss was delighted with the team’s 1-0 win over Sevco Rangers that set up a Betfred League Cup Final clash with Aberdeen at Hampden on November 27.
Rodgers said: “It’s been a great start for us. You see the collective mentality and spirit within the team.
“I know there are areas we need to improve in over time, but the players are performing magnificently well and have that hunger to succeed.”They’re playing the game at a real top level tempo both win and without the ball.
“It was a great performance worthy of getting to a Cup Final.”
Rodgers also praised the contribution from skipper Scott Brown, who continued his impressive form in the Hampden triumph.
He added: “Scott totally dominated the middle of the field. Firstly, defensively he orchestrated the game, but his pressing, pressure and phsyicallity were great.”Then we saw his quality, too. He makes the team tick and plays the ball forward.
“He really dominated in there.”
