Rogic’s next contract

929

Tom Rogic is well within his rights to take time to consider his next contract.  He is thriving at Celtic, but with a year left on his current deal, the future is open.  Front and centre of his mind, of all players’ minds, will be the dirty little subject.  The money paid to lesser talents than Tom in England is incredible, Tom is well within his rights to ponder his position in the food chain.

Then there is his place in the Celtic squad.  Brendan Rodgers is continually looking to improve the team.  It doesn’t matter who you are, you cannot be sure of a place well into the future.

There are also reasons to consider why Celtic might be a good fit for him.  He is not the archetypal English Premier League player, all physique and running.  Tom is a throwback to not so long ago when craft on the ball got you into the team, not the ability to burst a lung for 90 minutes.  All too often, he’s a 60 minute star.

Evidence is everywhere that he is a big game player and proven match winner, but he is not going to temp a title chasing team from England, instead it would be the bottom half battlers who are most likely to be interested in him.  He’s not a natural fit.  Better to stay with the champions.

Jackie came to Celtic in 1995, played on team that stopped the 10 in a row.

Telfer & Guppy were years after Jackie.

  2. To be honest there are a few Metro Anthems on my playlist. :)))

Lets finish the Season well Celtic.

I am hoping the other teams Learn from Celtic and get better.

Central Bar is fairly neutral and decent beer. As is The Criterion.

The New Inn is a more basic local wee boozer on edge of town and has more of a Celtic association with a CFC supporters bus leaving there. Might be worth checking it has the right channel though.

Grace has been my song since I was a Bhoy so glad Clogher Celt actually educated me in the story, anyhow Miss GFTB’s middle name is Grace which her Sevco supporting mum picked… because we both loved the song … but the main thing is Grace Gifford wasn’t a Catholic so it’s nit about religion just about being good people …. that’s my Cektic :-)

  12. Although I couldn’t attend the CST AGM yesterday, Friesdorfer proved an able deputy and has some positive news on bringing CST CSA and other recognised Celtic supporting parties together to formulate a policy on delivering fair governance and media coverage.

Still lots to do but it’s a step in the right direction of speaking with one voice.

At the end of the day if the club CelticFC does not take up the issue then there is no point! Did UEFA not quite make the same point in their letter to us on the matter?

Fair play to the wonderful work of all the supporters that do so much to date, but” brick wall” and ” banging your head” is in my mind. The Brendan factor will deflect all.

  23. I was speaking to a currant bun today who was just back from a protest in Birmingham (England not Alabama),intrigued I checked on Google.

Apparently yesterday there were two protests (around 5000 in total) of the “Football Lads Alliance” (FLA) and the” Democratic Football Fans Alliance” (DFLA)

Numbers were low because ” The Judean Peoples Front” and “The Peoples Front of Judea ” did not send any representatives.

  26. Meanwhile, Rodgers has admitted he won’t be at Celtic for the long term.

The Hoops boss has been linked with a return to England after his impressive spell in charge of his boyhood heroes.

And asked about being discussed as Arsene Wenger’s replacement at Arsenal, he said: “It’s nice people think you can manage clubs of that esteem.

More lies from The Sun, his interview in Mail on Sunday said exact opposite, do not buy the rags.
