Ronny, this is your starting point

1151

Ronny Deila seems to be more upset at the poor performance yesterday than I was. My expectation on hearing the team matched what we saw. We have taken big steps to turn things around in recent weeks but, Ronny, this is your starting point, and it’s not as high as you might have thought.

Hopefully we’ll be back to something more recognisable as a full squad on Wedenesday, including Wakasooooooo.

Blog on the go this week, email delays too.

I fear our lack of quality in the CL was more apparent that our lack of fitness

I fear RDs signings/loans are no better

for me its not a matter of making players faster runners that will bring success, if it was that easy, then the likes of St Mirren would simply employ a fitness coach and win the Champions league.

For me its about bringing a settled and quality core of first team payers instead of a wildly varying crew of pool players

its significant that the best players so far this season are all folks he inherited and not the “so called fitness gurus” that he has signed

The light rain that trickled down for most of the night over East Kilbride has now all but gone to leave a clearing sky, a non-existent wind, and a decent start to midweek Tuesday.

  6. I don’t understand why Neil Lennon finds it necessary to pick a fight with Ronny Deila. Just because RD brings in his own methods to fitness and diets etc does not mean he is criticising the way NFL operated. What is Neil’s problem with Ronny?

I wish he would find a management job in England to occupy his mind, but we all know that ain’t gonna happen.

Win the treble Ronny. That will put his gas at a peep.

  7. ....PFayr supports WeeOscar on

Lenny clearly sees what most of us are seeing …..

A team with no cohesion , changing every game with no determinate style

    Worried…absolutely

And…..he knows more about what is really going on inside CFC than us

  8. ….PFayr supports WeeOscar

I feel what Ronny is doing is the right way to go by using all of the squad that he has, however many on here me included were all for using the youngsters and giving them a chance etc, but with using the squad which he is doing I don’t think the youth or the rest of the squad are good enough.

I could be wrong, but if he started with his strongest 11 say what Lennon did or had he wouldn’t have a problem with consistency.

What hes doing reminds me of what Benitez did at Liverpool a few years back constantly rotating, it worked and it didn’t!

  10. Irrespective of which 11 we start with it is groundhog day with RD

First half performances are far too often shambolic, on to many occasions we have had to rely on outstanding goalkeeping, luck and poor finishing by the opposition to get a result Salzburg a perfect example………..textbook away performance ??

February 2013 Juventus gave a textbook away European performance at paradise

Was not convinced we had the players to make the RD philosophy on the game in to a reality on the pitch, now having watched RD teams on the pitch, not convinced RD knows how to implement his philosophy on the game, he is making big tactical blunders with his 4-2-3-1

Blunder 1 to be rectified, Left back goes on an attacking run, what does the team do next defensively ? heres a clue don’t just leave a big gap……………………………..

Benfica “LOL 1690” demand a recount. A video has been released highlighting suspected breaches of voting protocol during the vote. One adjudicator in a Celtic top is clearly seen to transfer Benfica votes to the Celtic pile. Another is clearly seen continually pressing a mouse key to increase Celtics percentage of the vote. Clear evidence of voting shenanigans and the dodgy involvement of PIRA’s intelligence units in altering the final count is alleged.

  13. LionRoars67, I agree with the most of what you say, Tonev has, at least, been trying to fill in for Izzy when he moves forward. That, of course, makes Tonev much less effective given how often Izzy gets up the park.

The other side of the pitch is another story altogether. Efe is constantly exposed.

My hosts don’t have Sky. Does anyone know of any Merseyside bars where I could watch the game on Wednesday?

  16. Given we’re in a run of 5 games in 14 days I’d be more upset if Ronny wasn’t rotating the squad.

Given we have players returning from injury lay offs (short and long term) I’d be more upset if Ronny wasn’t rotating the squad.

Given we have many new players at different levels of match fitness or even first team football I’d be more upset if Ronny wasn’t rotating the squad.

Part of that problem is Izzy always looking to go forward, on Sunday when Stokes instead of passing tried to do a Cruyff turn close to the halfway line, Izzy was out of defensive position
