Ronny, this is your starting point

1151

Ronny Deila seems to be more upset at the poor performance yesterday than I was. My expectation on hearing the team matched what we saw. We have taken big steps to turn things around in recent weeks but, Ronny, this is your starting point, and it’s not as high as you might have thought.

Hopefully we’ll be back to something more recognisable as a full squad on Wedenesday, including Wakasooooooo.

Blog on the go this week, email delays too.

  1. My friends in Celtic,

TBJ stated yesterday that the Hearts game will be like a cup final for our management duo. I agree.

Playing Hearts with the top tier closed will be a test. I see section 111 is sold out, however the bile from the also sold out Hearts sections will echo round.

We have better players, lets prove it.

Although live football is a bonus for many, it has consequences. I have not made up my mind yet to go or watch the game in the house / pub. ( I will be surprised if obtaining a ticket will be a problem )

    HH.

PS :Captain Beefheart. If you want to watch party conferences, free country, but the power is in your remote. Just press the mute button or switch off. Simples. .

    Cork,

With the exception of a certain 7-1 game, the LC hasn’t been particularly kind to Celtic. It is a crap tournament. I won’t be judging RD on that.

He says he needs someone more photogenic to present the award to,someone with tight-fitting shorts and top.

    So open to offers then!

    Green,

If I make the tv silent, doesn’t the sign language guy start? No way should he be made to try to decipher oddball socialist mantras. The poor guy’s arms would explode.

Captain Beefheart. Discount the competition we are playing in we should be able to beat Hearts at home.Therefor unlike your good self I am sure the majority of the Celtic support will be judging Rony on this game just like any other games. The honeymoon period is over and there are no free lunches. H.H.

I am picking my daughter up tonight as she went over with her boyfriend for the “All Ireland final”

He comes from Donegal and studies in Dublin.

He is also a Chelsea fan. Is this normal behaviour ?

The League Cup might be a crap tournament.

It doesn’t excuse a crap performance from Celtic.

If that happens then I’d think RD’s jaiket might be on a shooglie peg.

Some honeymoon Joe. The bride has been kicked in the cojones by his grooms from Paradise.

A vulgar accusation about Caroline. Regards.

  13. Capt Beefheart

I am with Corkcelt and Joe F’s Haircut on the importance of the game tomorrow.

If we play again like we did first half on Sunday and The Cousins come in with their recent shooting form we could be embarrassed.

Just because we regularly screw up in this competition does not give the current team a pass.

The negativity and pressure will magnify if we lose this game.

Next 4 games are Hearts, St Mirren, Zagreb Hamilton.

With 3 of these being at Celtic Park we should be aiming at 4/4

Winning these will not mean we are world-beaters but 4 wins gives us a foundation on which to build confidence and stability.

  14. BMCUWP,

I nominate Jamesgang to present the award, as I mind acgr commenting how striking he must look in his cycling attire… Not for me to judge though…;)

  15. I mind ACGR saying no such thing!

And I’m sure that’s one if the many things that he doesn’t remember either!!!

  17. Really surprised that we always seem to have a big squad full of average players when we have a ceo like lawell who keeps the purse strings tight..

  18. Greenpinata, I sympathise with you re your daughter’s boyfriend supporting Chelsea. My daughter is getting married to a West Ham supporter on Oct 23rd. (clashing with Europa game), this guy has an excuse he was born in London. albeit he has lived in Ireland since he was 12 or 13. Regardless of his previous affiliations I had the two of them voting away for Celtic last night.

  19. Any chance Christina Hendricks being available to receive the award?!

Resplendent in tight-fitting shorts and top, of course?

That would get the evening session off to a flier.

Just keeping at it just now. Doing a lot of applying for jobs and have had the sensible heid on. Celtic have taken a back seat for a week or so.

We were away for our summer break too down South. Very enjoyable with the weather.

Met this fella in Blackpool on a wee day trip. Stopped at a hotel for a shandy in the sun.

His story was inspiring and his mum wrote a book about it. He was away for a break with his dad and his mum is now unfortunately in a home. His story was both heart breaking and heart warming. His banter was fantastic. He had us in stitches for about an hour. A truly lovely guy. I have vowed to read his book. Big Chelski fan and the one and only time in my life I wanted them to win was that night for this guy. I will never forget him and he was very, very good with my son.

If you have a minute have a read about him.

  22. Whats the story with these videos on facebook with apparnt rigging at last weeks vote ?

Is it just facebook stuff or is their any public or polictical pressure for an investigation ?

  23. I don’t understand this call for the Ronnie’s head if he loses the next match or two.

Obviously we want to win every match, but our new manager has new ideas and he should be given the chance to put them in place and build the team he wants.

My view of last weekend is him testing out his squad in the best way he could and that is in a match.

I’ll like to think he now has a better view of the players at his disposal and what he needs to work on.

He can ‘experiement’ to some degreee in the league as we have time to pull back any dropped points. For me it’s the best place to build his view of the squad.

I hope we give Ronnie the time he needs and he proves his doubters wrong by building the kind of team we all want to see, winning and winning well.

Just for a laugh I thought I’d check the first league results of our greatest very manager, Jock Stein:

    W 6-0

    L 0-1

    D 3-3

    L 2-4

    W 1-0

    W 4-0

    L 2-6

    L 1-2

    L 1-5

Different times, different teams and most importantly no internet.

    Hail Hail
