‘ROSENBORG’S LIP SERVICE SPURRED US ON,’ ADMITS BROWN

SCOTT BROWN revealed Rosenborg’s over-confidence acted as an extra spur for Celtic in Trondheim last night.

The Norwegians were desperate to end a decade’s absence from the Champions League group stages during their centenary campaign.

But the Hoops skipper couldn’t disguise his pleasure at sending them out of the competition on a 1-0 aggregate with James Forrest sizzling in the winner.

Brown said: “They felt they were through after the first leg.

“Their celebratIons at Parkhead were a bit over the top. But we came here and we did the job.

“We did what we had to do.

“They put it on their Twitter feed: ‘We’re almost there’ – so that was nice motivation for us.

“It was good to come over here and get the goal to go through.”

Meanwhile listen to the new CQN Podcast below, it really is worth taking the time.

This edition features a hard hitting introduction from Paul Dykes on the cheating and also a look back at The Celts for Change Years, which will remind you where we were as a football club in the nineties.
