SFO, IPO, hell will freeze before SFA act

1068

An appropriate course of action when you are the chairman or a non-executive director of a PLC when a fellow director and, until last week, chief executive, has been reported to the Serious Fraud Office for matters in connection with the company, would be to immediately contact the accuser asking for full and immediate disclosure of information which could materially affect investors and the company’s trading position.

The “compelling evidence that Messrs Green and Ahmad received a letter before claim in December 2012, having received previous correspondence, and chose to ignore it” sounds like a signed-for receipt.  If this was received before 22 December, the date of Rangers International FC PLC’s IPO, it is of critical importance that the board ask for sight of the evidence, irrespective of what Mr Green says about its existence.

This season’s Third Division has nine days to run and it would inconvenience many if these matters were brought to a head before then, but the duty of directors is clear; they cannot postpone attending to the interests of investors until after the football season.

Lawyers acting for RIFC PLC should politely request full disclosure from the other party, without delay.

Some in the SFA may be tempted to attempt another Grand Plan to prepare for and accommodate and almighty collapse at one club.  Grand Plans don’t work in these circumstances; the last one led to the current Lawyers at Dawn scenario.

We await the SFA acting in relation to RIFC PLC’s claim that Sevco 5088 Ltd, a company Craig Whyte is a registered director of, is part of their group.  This is in direct contradiction to an earlier representation made to the SFA, and breaks a condition of their membership of the Association.

Current SFA president, Campbell Ogilvie, is a former Rangers director.  My prediction is that hell will freeze over before he allows the SFA to act on this matter.  The SFA shall wilfully ignore its own rules.

  1. Whats all this about a celtic choir im reading about ?

Is that being organised by celtic board ? Hopefully it adds even more to brillant atmosphere the green brigade create and doesnt cause divison.

  2. Everyone forget about Shiels he’s irrelevant, keep pressure on the SFA regarding CG & CW links

  3. BT,

Haver away :)) Stop him drinking at 8pm? You’ll be asking me to part the Red Sea next! Anyway, does he not usually just steal a train and drive it home himself when that happens? Security at Central Station is very relaxed these days as all the rozzers are either conducting sanctioned harassment at CP, filming peaceful demos, or on here discussing their taxi driving rumours and contempt for the Celtic support.

    Tallybhoy,

I hear your concerns, but we’ll all have been well kettled before that happens anyway I expect :)) Can the rozzers kettle the kettled? Only they know.

  4. I have decided it is time to watch the sopranos whilst on long term sick. I have not watched one single episode before…

    any good bhoys/ghirls?

A warm welcome, and looking forward to your posts with a sprinkling of fun.

I have absolutely no doubt that we will debate your views ( sometimes disagreeing ) and you will be proved right all along.

I know the drill. That’s the way it works with Mrs Greenpinata.

    HH. Always in celtic.

Good morning fellow Celts – it was sunny now grey and p@shing down in Renfrewshire

I see our Peter is leading a call for some bevvy at the games and about time too. The Deidco inspired Hampden riot was almost a quarter of a century ago. The legislation was a knee jerk reaction at the time- nothing much has changed – folk still totally wrecked at games just tank up outside the ground.

Also good to see more facilities for disabled fans and a move towards standing sections

An earlier post referred to the need fir patience & time it takes to develop a stadium into a world class venue for fans ….hmmmm

Try the Emirates or Kauserslautern or Juventus my friend

I have a nice letter dated 1994 – received from Fergus McCann thanking me for my suggestions on how to improve customer service in the magnificent new Celtic Park. Fergus is a hero, laying the foundation for the modem Celtic.

However, there are fundamental flaws in the basic thinking around service on match days. Fans turn up at last minute on match days – mainly because there us nothing to entice them to the Park earlier to enjoy and build up an atmosphere

No doubt lack if bevvy is a factor – a huge potential revenue stream is lost!

On the subject of streams – I know many guys who don’t have a beer before games because of the lack of toilet facilities and hand washing soap towels and hot water – you can’t take a greyfriars bobby because there are only 2 cubicles for around 5, 000 punters and they are occupied by wee scroats smoking waccy – so don’t eat for hours before a game – just in case :-)

Food is overpriced and would make the worst carnival showground food seem Roganoesque by comparison.

There are no ledges to place a cup or food and if you do manage to negotiate the queues and lift your huge sack of money onto the counter to pay fir yer cardboard pizza and ersatz coffee- you will find that the wee yellow buckets stapled to the wall with salt & pepper and stirring sticks are filthy – probably last cleaned in 1994.

The stadium is underdeveloped – has been fir 25 years and modem customers will simply not put up with it.

I am old enough to remember watching guys walk through the bogs under the jungle ankle deep in p@sh with a pile of pies from adjacent stall-

Things gave improved since – but not by much

It’s time someone took a grip of the match day offering and basic services – it is nothing short of abysmal and embarrassing if you have guests from other clubs/countries accompanying you to games.

Thank gawd we have a manager and team to be proud of, or I would seriously consider not be renewing my season ticket – my fear is by renewing my ticket nothing will change on the service offering. My sense is they feel we don’t want civilised facilities coz we’re just fitba fans…

    Not so !

    Wakey, wakey Peter

BT, good to hear you are at home and on the mend.

No doubt the gang hut will take a pounding soon :-)

Defo watch The Sopranos……or better still The Wire!

Both top notch, but for me the Wire edges it.

    Seriously,mate.

You would do our Club a huge service if you just redirect your post to the powers that be at Celtic Park.

  12. Good morning from an overcast Nordrhein Westfalen, predicting a high of 18*C and rain today.

So things are being nicely staged managed over Ibrokes way, the CEO is “forced” to leave and now his sidekick, affectionately known as his P friend has been sacked. If I was a zombie I wouldn’t think twice that there was something dodgy going on when the guys who had controlling shares in the Newco were being forcibly removed (by whom). Fortunately, I am of a Tim persuasion and I can sit back and quietly smile, perhaps even laugh out loudly, at the shenanigans going down old Govan way.

As regards Mr Shiels, once a hun always a hun, but I think NFL should have kept his thoughts to himself. This was, after all, a democratic vote by other players voting for who they thought stood out over the season. I’ve got to be honest I’d have problems picking Celtic’s POTY, for me nobody has been really outstanding this season, more of a team effort. That’s just my opinion and as they say opinions are like @rseholes, everybody’s got one.

Well off oot to see the physio, I hope she’s not going to be too hard on me this morning ;-))

I know it seems like a rant and using valuable space here, but I believe it’s a huge problem.

There is so much right at the club now and I feel we should be using the momentum and pushing on in these other areas

I have been writing to them since the days of Fergus – nice replies – not much action

Perhaps the blogmeister could help in suggesting precisely where to direct your concerns if your previous efforts are being politely ignored.

    “Customer” feedback par excellence.

    I must come clean.

Haven`t been to Celtic Park since late `79.

Great post and some worthwhile points.

Have to say that facilities don’t matter a great deal to me when considering match day experience but I understand that’s not the case for everyone.

    Hope you’re well.

  21. HT

taking the kids to the match is an important part of keeping the support .

I am lucky that mini goes with my dad and doesn’t have to put up with the facilities on offer to us when we had a parent and child seat in the Lisbon lions stand.

we need to make it an all encompassing experience including decent wi fi connection in the stadium as most kids are glued to their phones and FB.

we could even book our pies online and go to a pre ordered queue to collect them… o))
