“The appeal is dismissed.” With those words at the Supreme Court in London at 9:52 this morning, Rangers tax cheating was established as fact. The charlatans who manipulated Scottish football fans were shown to be the disgrace they are.
Rangers made unlawful payments, totalling many millions of pounds, to footballers, who, by the club’s own admission in court, they would have been unable to recruit if they had to pay tax and National Insurance contributions for.
They lied to HMRC.
They also hid documents from HMRC, which only came to light during a City of London Police raid on Ibrox.
They hid documents from the SPL and SFA, failing to honestly register dozens of players.
They cheated the tax man.
They cheated the welfare state, the NHS, the police, councils, schools. They cheated the Army and other services.
The SPL’s (now called Scottish Professional Football League) Commission into these matters must now be set aside. It was conducted on the assumption that Rangers acted legally. Lord Nimmo Smith was clear that his conclusions were predicated on this point. A fresh commission is required, we cannot just allow the biggest cheats in British sporting history wander off into the distance.
The SFA has failed to call Sir David Murray to account, or the other directors of Rangers, who had explicit responsibility to ensure the club acted within the laws of the land and within the rules of football, both of which it failed to do.
Murray should be sine died. God knows, I cherish every moment Dave King controls things at Ibrox, but he was a director of Rangers with legal responsibility for its actions. They should all be censured.

Depending on how the SFA/SPFL act on today’s judgement, will reveal whether Scottish football will thrive or die.
Strip the cheats of their titles.
This paranoid Tim was not paranoid enough.
BROGAN ROGAN TREVINO AND HOGAN @ 2:08 PM,
Great stuff from you today… it’s good to be informed.
Would this be too much to ask, questions that were never properly answered, why were non Rangers or Ex Rangers Employees paid EBTs and when the sums are done is there missing money, if so where did it go…
As you say, after all the prevaricating and kicking the can down the road, surely this decisive result is the start of The Big Rangers Tax Case.
Hail Hail
Didn’t the SFA already make a statement? “Scottish football needs a strong Rangers” or something like that?
Can you get odds on the Dorrans transfer falling through? Either that or they are paying him buttons and the transfer fee is grossly inflated.
Moonbeams
I never said or told anyone what to do, just gave my opinion on the subject of CFC not saying anything, you can post and do as you please mate, no problem.
My closest pal and I walked away from Rugby Park in 2003 in disbelief that we had been to Seville and not won the league. We were cheated. He has passed away but I will never forget him or that day.
It’s time for the cheating to be recognised by Scottish football and appropriate sanctions given to those individually and collectively ( ” club”) involved.
Minimum should be not awarded asterisks or given to runners up. Rangers, whoever they are, should have nowhere to hide.

Yes we will see what happens, but it’s a tad early for statements from CFC, or any other club imo.

That paints a truly horrible picture!
Sure does,but very appropriate

For those not here it is vital, I will never forget how I felt after Fir Park and it was based on them cheating.
Hahaha this if brilliant from fourfourtwo

Only some very quick thinking from the Rangers board prevented the worst result in the club’s history against Progres Niederkorn last night.
The Scottish side were staring down the barrel of an embarrassing European exit at the hands of the Luxembourgish minnows when they heroically pulled off a last-gasp liquidation.
“We had to dig deep to get Form B6557 filled in and notarised, but we managed it,” Lee Wallace told FourFourTwo.
“I heard Rangers lost to a team from Luxembourg last night! That’s pathetic. Really glad that has nothing to do with us.”
Have to register my enormous thanks to all those who used their precious time to keep this issue alive when the establishment and all their lackeys wanted it all to go away.
The denial amongst the world’s most gullible is amazing, despite the highest courts in the land telling them what they refuse to hear.
Strip the Titles, sack the SFA and clean the game of this stench. I’m sure we’ll survive the promised march on Hampden, the reinvention of red cards to stripped titles, etc etc…
Over to you Celtic, the cheated clubs and their supporters – there’s a tap in waiting there for you….
Hmmmmm

Ok, supporters from Hibs, Hartz, the Sheep, & Celtic so far want action, somehow this needs to be coordinated else thew clubs will say and do feck all.
This was the worst result for the clubs and the powers that be, the best for the support who have been cheated for many years.
Anyways, unless the support take action there will be no titles stripped, no heads will roll, nothing will happen, we need to make this happen.
Suggestions………………………….
Celtic Statement
WE note today’s decision by the Supreme Court. Celtic’s position on this issue has been consistent – that this has always been a matter for the courts of law and also the Scottish football authorities, whose rules are intended to uphold sporting integrity.
In 2013, we expressed surprise – shared by many observers and supporters of the game – over the findings of the SPL Commission that no competitive or sporting advantage had resulted. Today’s decision only re-affirms that view.
We are sure now that the footballing authorities in Scotland will wish to review this matter. Celtic awaits the outcome of their review.
Afternoon folks.
Anything happening? :0)
I see SPFL are going to consider their position on LNS which is good as they will have to look back at what made them decide to accept the LNS Decision and not appeal.
For a bit of detail check https://www.sfm.scot/time-for-scots-government-to-take-bull-by-the-horns/?cid=158796 and the older TSFM blog from 2014.

Old Lawyers Adage:
Never call for a review unless you know one is coming.
BTW – check your e-mail.
I hope other clubs issue a statement as well por cierto.
here we go …………….. 17 in a row.
TET
Unfortunately it has always been their court por cierto.
The head Hun on FF is saying the titles can’t be touched as the five way agreement stipulates this
BRTH
Happy enough with Celtic’s statement.
Ps what a 24 hours in the land of Sevconia!
Well done CFC, very clever. Good statement, only my opinion.
‘Celtic awaits’.
BRTH
Very sensible statement from Celtic.
Over to you Scottish Fitba Authorities.
TD67
You were right earlier.
All clubs and their supporters need to tackle this corruption.
Im not going to personalise this.
It needs collective action.

Por Cierto
True, I reckon they had hoped for a different result. or that today would never arrive, either way they have to do something, anything.
HH
Imatim- There should be enough now ,to blow up the 5 Way Agreement? HH
” Blood of our blood, bone of our..
…diseased bone……”
Sircumcision would be a right guid start.
The Celtic Statement is little more than an acknowledgement of today’s decision.
I have no issue with that at the moment. The SPFL has made no definitive statement yet so Celtic have to keep their powder dry.
In days gone by. People would protest against injustice by taking to the streets, peacefully.
If we dont get satisfaction, imo, we should be protesting in numbers outside the SFA.
We cannot let this go now.
We need change, or this cheating will never end.
P.S. Im keeping calm:)

Big Peter…….Big Guns…
…ready!

OK,a bit confused here. The BBC,as usual soft soaping the Huns with “No action “guff,as its a different Company. The BBC,maintain in all their hand outs, that it is “The same club”The idiots at the governing bodies come away with the “same club”crap,so where is the argument. The same club that won the trophies by cheating, now have to have them stripped.Nothing to do with any such nonsense as companiesThey are,we keep getting told, entirely different from each other. Its the football club who gained, its the football club that must suffer. Is this correct?.
The 5 Way Agreement is not worth the goatskin it is written on.
Good and Consistent Statement From Celtic…

Be interesting… Didn’t Sevco get promised immunity from certain penalties in the 5way agreement?
Yet, they are responsible for all Oldco Footballing debts and Sanctions…
MMMMMMMMmmmmmm
Could be messy…
Mind you, one Sanction is expelling the Club… That could put a lot of People out of their misery.
Hail Hail.
