Social cost of Scots exclusion

1522

You want to know the real social cost of Scottish football’s exclusion from the league structure England and Wales share?  It’s the lack of pitches, nets, strips, balls and coaching certifications that the £1bn bounty, promised by the Barclay’s Premier League last night to the grassroots game.

£1bn to the grassroots is a huge sum.  It dwarfs what taxpayers can afford and will provide a series of benefits our kids and amateur players are denied.

If we’re part of the UK, we should be part of the UK’s commercial opportunities.  Every youth team in the land are excluded because of the actions of a cartel.

What are the SFA doing about it?  Nothing.  Their plans don’t seem to require world-class youth facilities.

You’re in danger of killing the CQN Mag project before it’s even off the ground.

I entirely understand the commercial imperative, but I’m afraid the avalanche of pop ups, video and goodness knows what else that needs to be waded though before finally arriving at the desired article, with further banners, ad vids and pop ups thereafter, throttles the curiosity to read the copy itself.

Sorry pal, but count me out until you’ve found the right balance between content and commerce.

“Mr Magenta” you heard it here first.

A story of lies deceit, cover up and cowardice on a grand scale.

  8. Danny Wilson.of Hearts.is he good enough to play for Celtic.I would say yes.a good center half.sort of lost his way.first going to Sevco.then them transferring him to Liverpool.were he didn’t get much first team football.as for the development player at Aberdeen. I really haven’t a clue who he is.and them Celtic supporters not wanting Danny Wilson.probably because he played for Sevco.

Henke – reading back, if you want a really top class Irish whiskey, then look no further than The Midleton. It’s superb, but comes with a rather hefty price tag….think it’s about 150 euros a bottle! :-(

    They have those new-fangled, dumbed-down, pre-folded palms.

Trying to fold a palm frond into a decent cross used to be a key part of Palm Sunday when I was a wean.

Down with that sort of thing!!!

I guess Mr Magenta is the name he used at The first tier tax tribunal when all those were allowed to use code names, very alice in wonderland, could you be referring to the SFA president or someone entirely different?

I was wondering what the attendance was at the big Championship game in Glasgow yesterday. I googled “huns v cowdenbeath 28/03/2015” and up popped the information required. I wonder if the SFA Compliance Officer knows about this ?

That’s a fair read but ‘England centric’ as a manifesto. I have some ideas on this. I’m interested in ‘broadcasting authority’ Could the SFA or SPFL block or seek to block EPL coverage being broadcast, not for free but fully subsidised via sky rental, in Scotland. What are the relative governing laws broadcasting being a reserved matter? Do you (or anyone else) know? I found it hard to decipher on ofcom.

  23. Following the the thrilling climax to the rugby last weekend which was watched by a record 14 million people in these islands and the retention of the Championship by a team representing the island of Ireland we have the two Irelands playing to-night in the European Championship – last week will be a hard act to follow..

I know we are represented by one team in many sports and with great success surely the time has come for the unification of both organisations in our world of Association football. looking forward to greeting our Polish friends in the Aviva to-night and a victory for Blessed Martin and his team.
