Social cost of Scots exclusion

1522

You want to know the real social cost of Scottish football’s exclusion from the league structure England and Wales share?  It’s the lack of pitches, nets, strips, balls and coaching certifications that the £1bn bounty, promised by the Barclay’s Premier League last night to the grassroots game.

£1bn to the grassroots is a huge sum.  It dwarfs what taxpayers can afford and will provide a series of benefits our kids and amateur players are denied.

If we’re part of the UK, we should be part of the UK’s commercial opportunities.  Every youth team in the land are excluded because of the actions of a cartel.

What are the SFA doing about it?  Nothing.  Their plans don’t seem to require world-class youth facilities.

    Scepovic…. Well, who knows.

    But bring Hooper back, nah.

I bet Ronny thinks the same.

  5. OK,thats me off.Cant be @rsed with pictures and peoples favorite songs.

Sorry if that offends anyone.C’est la vie.

  6. What Ronny and the management team’s dilema is….

Scepovic….technically decent, good finisher…down side = not strong enough, doesn’t work hard enough, no pace.

Griffiths….. Busy, hard working…good finisher when chance presents itself. … Down side.. As a sole striker / no.9 , has no stature. Not strong enough… Just not a “lead the line” striker.

Not sure who is the answer….but Gary Hooper…nah. No thanks.

  7. Turkey_bhoy…

Ur wrong….Ronny wouldn’t bring him back.

    No danger.

Ronny wants his No.9 to be hard working.

Hooper struggles to work off his 13 stone

Just back in from a modest dinner with Tony’s Mum and saw you post about last night.

I was not on the blog last night, but it’s an energizing world we live in.

Chatting to Tony’s older brother recently I bemoaned my failure to make a decent fist of being a better faither. I was melancholic and whatever.

His response was one that I will never forget, ever.

Dad, (he said) you just kicked the can a wee bit further down the road and I hope to do the same. That’s all you can expect.

Don’t your children just amaze you sometimes.

    Night sir, and all hereabouts.

  9. 16 Roads,

I agree in opposing censorship. I’m not advocating that, and I don’t think anyone is. I’m responding to a halfwit (TonyDonnelly67) who repeatedly posts shite, and then cries about being victimised when anyone disagrees with him.

He is actually ruining this place more than any hun that went before him.

FFM – What does it matter, seriously?

I genuinely don’t understand what the problem is.

Tony Donnelly is Tony Donnelly – he is the same of us all – sometimes I agree with his contributions, and sometimes I disagree.

    It’s no big deal.

  11. Top of the morning to you all from a still-dark Fife.

Come on the Kiwis in Melbourne

FFM – Lol I am really sorry my friend, but we are all over the place in terms of politics and beliefs, or whatever is best for the club.

    It’s a broad church.

A great place to discuss important things and get various opinions?

Yip, just so long as you agree with those various opinions…

I disagree with your insane(imho)left-wing politics, but I am not calling for you to be banned, or censored.

On the contrary, I welcome your contributions, and respect your opinions.

Remember who was most vociferous in calling for your return, when ye were on a sabbatical.

Bring back Kojo as well, and Magill and all the others whom have jacked it in.

We are all Celtic supporters, that is the common denominator.

The Celtic Football Club is the pivot of which we all revolve around – Same as Easter in respect of Christianity itself – even more significant than Christmas.

  13. 16 Roads,

I hear you, and am grateful for you and Pedro for always giving me support during my rants.

What I’m saying is that such folk aren’t debating, discussing, or encouraging chat, they’re actively killing it and focussing attention deliberately on themselves.

HH to you. You’re one of my favs amigo – anyone that goes out onto the streets of Glasgow looking for my sorry steaming mess is a hero in my book ! :))

    Never a problem FFM.

Ye def have to try and get over to Dublin for the hootenanny next year chief – we are gonna go absolutely mental. :D

  16. Big Nan disasterous start for the kiwis but they are recovering slowly. Long way to go yet. Some risk taking in the batting as they run out of innings and then they get to bowl. Big paddock so not really set up for a large score though the Aussies should know how to play their own park. Could be a long night then I will go back to preferring to watch paint dry than cricket. Go the black caps.
