Interesting development reported this morning by the BBC that the SPFL have sold rights to a Chinese broadcaster for around £500k per year. With rights for major European leagues commanding premium fees, it seems intuitive that there’s space for lower-cost content, but Scottish football must be starting from a position of practically zero market knowledge in China. Unless Zheng Zhi is a whole lot more popular than I realised.
The other aspect about China to bear in mind is the size and habits of its gambling market. If you are a gambler, you don’t watch football for the thrill of following your favourite team, you watch for the opportunity to beat the bookie, and in this respect, Scottish football is as valuable as any league.
Sport’s relationship with gambling has been a source of concern, especially in the Scottish lower leagues, but when you look up your fixture list and see the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership, there’s no point getting precious about the influence Chinese gamblers.

Exactly, don’t ever let them boss this great site, as soon as any charity things are up they will run a mile, I know P67 doesn’t charge or look for any contributions but I know for a fact if he ever wanted too put something like that in place for Malawi kids, food banks in Glasgow or any other deserving charity you would see less friction on the site……

Your central point is IMHO completely flawed.
The Labour Party have by common consent abandoned the poor across the UK. They have been played like a fiddle by the Tories who argue that the poor and welfare-reliant are to blame for their own situation.
When did you ever see the leader of the Labour Party advocating abstaining against an attack on the poor??
Labour have more potential gains from appealing to the disenfranchised, the poor, the browbeaten and those without hope, than idiotically chasing the votes of Tories who would not unreasonably prefer to vote for the real thing when given the choice.
If the Labour Party is not for the poor and the working classes then WTF is it’s purpose? If it didn’t exist, why would anybody today see the need to invent it??
Pleas don’t answer with your shopping list of previous Labour achievements. You have posted that several times.

Just saw your post we are all invited to PS’s (I think that’s his initials) night out, seems a really decent guy he was around last week showing us some of the systems, i will be out from 3.30pm till 7pm as a few bhoy a are out for the Ross Co game on the Saturday, not often I am allowed out two days in the same month never mind the same weekend

The best thing about this blog is/was freedom to express and argue, it appears that is no longer the case.

Around 50 Labour MPs at least probably defied the whip and voted against the welfare bill.
We have not seen the figures yet, but the SNP (56 MPs), the Lib Dems (eight MPs), the DUP (eight MPs) and Caroline Lucas, the Green, were all committed to voting against the bill. It is possible that some of those MPs were not present, but if they were, they would account for 73 of the no votes.
So at least another 51 votes would have had to come from somewhere. Almost all of those will have been Labour MPs, although the SDLP’s Margaret Ritchie said in the debate she could not support the bill.
