  1. 67Heaven .. CHALLENGING THE LIE ..I am wee Oscar...... Ipox belongs to the creditors on

man of the match …. BOYATTA, then CIFTI

  2. FT 3-0. Comfortable and confident finally.

Saves from Craig kept us alive early on.

BOYATA dominated Saints attack and Nadir cashed in with a coule of good goals.

Time to grab tea n toast before mass.

  3. TBJ says Wee Oscar Knox is in heaven with the angels on

    Well done – 3-0 against 14 men

A few players still used par but 4 points clear with a game in hand and motherwell at home next weekend with no mid week game

  4. Good 2nd half performance.

Tommy Rogic, Dedryk Boyata played well.

And well done to NC with two goals, looked better today.

    Job done.

  5. Deila knows his squad best, and Tom Rogic’s strength proved crucial for Celtic as the second half wore on until the big Aussie was withdrawn having helped plough a fine away win against just about the best the SPL could offer.

Solid performances from rotating players in the absence of the seasons main goalscorer, Celtic were fitter, stronger, and clinical where it mattered, in the box. Fair play to St Johnstone for the attacking style, and Celts rode their luck in the opening exchanges.

Shame for SMSM and the mineshafters with Celtic out of Europe they may have to suffer Celtic winning against all comers now.

It’s a tough life only being top in Scotland, especially if you’re Norwegian.

    M.O.M. Tom Rogic.

  6. Nye Bevans' rebel soldier on

When I saw the team I was worried(when am I

not) that was a great 3 point’s,Rogic MOTM.

  7. Crisis club Celtic win again.

Much better second half. Bit more urgency coming forward. Rogic the star man and great for Ciftci to bag a brace. And a clean sheet for the defence too.

Not brilliant overall but a good result and another three points from a potentially difficult game.

The tv and radio guys seem to love their Celtic stats, I wonder who’ll be first to mention that only 5 teams in the SPFL have a positive goal difference and our +32 is better than the sum of the other 4 teams (29)?

  9. Well done Celtic, strong test today, job well done.

There were downsides, St. Johnstone had 4 or 5 clear chances on another day 2 or 3 of them could have gone in, However after a Euro game against a decent side, short Bitton,Brown & Griffiths the Bhoys won 3 nil.

Ciftci will be feeling a whole lot better now, Defence are beginning to gel a bit better, still prone to coughing up a few chances but again the clean sheet will build their confidence,

    Overall I’m relieved and delighted.

  10. FT. Well played from the Hoops after a tough game in Turkey.

Special mention for Rogic, Ciftci and Boyata today. The latter especially as form and confidence doesn’t happen overnight but over weeks and months.

Finally. Unbelievable stuff from our BT commentary team towards the end of the game discussing the sacking of Ronny and which month would be the best option!

Well done Celtic. Good three points. MSM will be sick, which is good.

Delighted for Ciftci. Guy has been working his socks off. Maybe trying too hard if anything. Clearly just needed more games, although of course it’s much easier just to write him off as a dud. As with Ronny.

Well done big Craig too (another who was written off). Always seems to do well there.

    Onwards and upwards!

  12. viewfaethewindae on

    Well done the Celts.

Dedryk Boyata improving, Rogic played well, real concerns about Joe Hansen and Armstrong.

    M.O.M. Tom Rogic.

Well done Bhoys, excellent result. Banana skin avoided with style.

Delighted for Ciftci – really hope he can push on now and develop.

Slightly disappointed with Cole – he had 12 whole minutes to distract SJ’s defence simply by being there and cause another comedy OG. Shape up, lad.

  14. Great result and some really good individual performances.I disagree however with most posters in that I thought Joe Hanson had a good game.

  15. GlassTwoThirdsFull on

Chick – Ciftci could have had three earlier on. Err, no – that would have been one, Chick!

  16. thomthethim for Oscar OK on

Excellent performance in an always difficult fixture.

Solid midfield display, anchored by Johansen, the excellent Mc.Gregor and orchestrated by Rogic.

Special mention to Boyata and Ciftci.

Another wee stat, this one from Twitter:

Celtic’s last 16 games played after a mid-week European fixture:

    W16 D0 L0, GD 51-7

  18. WE started badly but certainly improved as game progressed.

We do leave ourselves open to the one on ones especially when receiving ball with back to their goal in midfield, plus the usual unforced error (McGregor mis pass letting O Halloran in on goal just before half time.

In Europe that goes in and instead of taking in a one goal lead its a strength sapping draw.

However goals change games and Boyata scoring right after half time did that and we were much more relaxed in the second half.

A good all round performance on the back of a European game.
