Stunning charity effort by Celtic fans

936

A big well done to everyone who participated in the efforts to send Vanessa Riddle to Philadelphia for crucial medical treatment.  The £500k required was raised yesterday.

Brogan Rogan’ brought the issue to the blog and Taggsybhoy arranged the CQN Music Quiz earlier this month, our first formal activity for Vanessa.  Penfold gave us a signed Celtic top at the quiz which raised an incredible £5000 on eBay (plus gift aid) from a Celtic fan who, quite simply, gets what following this club is all about.

Not only did he pay £5000 but he told us to keep the shirt and use it again!  We then raffled the shirt on eBay and raised almost £1400.  You are all part of an incredible story by an incredible support.

The draw for the signed shirt took place at Uefa headquarters in Nyon, you can watch the video of below and find out if you won.

Our thanks again to Andrew in Belfast for his tireless help with the site this week.  The new ‘whyte’ template is in place and we’ll continue to restore functionality.

aye and wait eighteen months to degrade your self in front of an appeal tribunal,,

DWP are a mere subservient bitch of ATOS,,

Bit harsh there BB. There are good guys at the DWP who do their best to help customer’s. But like all big business there are also workshy losers who just try to do stats.

Like BT says, go for an appeal as they will still receive their money while the appeal process is ongoing. They have to appeal within one month of the decision being made. I have NOT heard of anyone with Parkinson’s failing on appeal. I am as surprised as you that it was not allowed in the first place.

I turnover a large amount of nil decisions by ATOS and allow the decision in favour of the customer customer. I also phone the customer before i finalise my decision.

So please do not tar us all with the same brush mate!

Minutes aplause at Wales game, brilliant. His 2 sons done their dad proud to lead out team with Craig Bellamey and the singing of national anthem.

    Rhetorical again Bhoys.

Or. And I state OR has anyone else noticed the piles of tabloids left piled high in your local supermarkets, cornershops and petrol stations this last 2 and a bitty weeks. (That’s the observant bit – now for the clever bit) Just proves who previously bought these rags prior to RFC PLC (in administration) lequidation event occurring. Yee ole tabloid sales must be going through the TV. In fact as I stood in the queue of the shop in my working waiting to pay for my diet mars bar the other day I observed a young girl actually shedding a tear while looking at the back pages of the papers. As she gave up I heard her murmour an expletive followed by “they’ll no shut us down”. I nearly tripped up over my belly with laughter.

    FYI

You receive no money while under a DLA appeal,,

under an ESA appeal you get a reduced rate, and are required to produce regular medical certificate,

Consequences of this are amongst others, losing entitlement to rail and bus cards, even blue badges can be lost once your “cured”,,,,

It’s a shocking state of affairs,,,

was I right about the number of player going, or are they saving it up for a nike friday :o)

  10. Another great nights work by Hugh Keevins who must be due a major wage rise for his work.

Judging by the folk on here there was plenty of controversy and interest as people seem to love beoing outraged by the ‘positions’ he takes on issues in order to wind folk up.

Why any remotely intelligent Celtic supporter gets taken in by this ‘shock jock’ stuff is completely beyond me, yest as Rangers tumble along his audience gets bigger due to him winding up Celtic fans…..

Quite a trick by the nasally challenged fellow. More fool the listeners and even worse those who call thinking anyone cares about their views……a level up from daily record buyers IMO.

More of a concern to me is MY local MP docherty wasting private members time and effort in the proper government with his ridiculous rubbish about scottish football, compounded by the pathetic old pop band guy wishart reinforcing why not to vote for snp either……

They all know why Celtic are not paying up front for a game which may not take place but, as ever, they will make up a negative story about Celtic at any opportunity

I hope the stories about the RCF are not true…….money meant for charities needs to find it’s way to the intended charities …..

Off to watch the Ireland game….but oile be back….!!!!!!!!!!!!….Chuckie

Weird happenings, only 2 possible answers.

They have a buyer lined up, no laughing at the back…

Or they are going to liquidate.

    Nothing else makes any sence.

These admin men are under forensic scrutiny and are NOT going about their business like any normal administration, they have not reduced the outgoings, why, their main priority is to the creditors, only conclusion is it’s into the blender.

    TET,

there was the rumour on here about the administrators recovering £6M from one of our heros planking places.

To be honest I’m begining to prefer them being kept alive until the big tax case hits.

If they are liquidated before then, that may be the end of the trail for the EBT’s, they could go after the directors, but will they want to spend the money chasing moonbeans and little to recover.

I think the only way to break up the Scottish cabal is to expose their sins to the world.

For people with mental illnesses the appeal is also torture.

It makes some conditions even more acute not to mention the financial hardship.

I feel the same, limp on for a while then obliterate them.

If they go pop before the tribunal, the bill still stands, the FTT will still deliver it’s verdict, and if guilty they are fecked every which way, either from Hector or the sfa, the sfa might not choose to do anything, but uefa will, they can’t not do anything.

I like your good self want them gone, I want them to suffer like they have made us suffer, I’m not a vengefull man, but I believe in an eye for an eye.

There was a report on SSN at lunchtime, STVGerry, saying the administrator thought they may have found where some money had been deposited, it was the Colliers Bristow client account that our Hero had opened for the Ticketus money deposited, there was no confirmation that the money was in fact there.

Pretty good game, end to end, open game. Both bhoys playing well, Charlie solid, james looking spritely.

Chaz a bit unfortunate at their goal, put in a good tackle but the slovenia player got the break of the ball, good cross in, scotland debutant at right back attempts to clear with the head and ball cannons of opponent who has jumped with him.

great header from Berra for the equalizer, towering header into bottom right corner.

    all to play for

He bought the shares fair and square, the club is his to carpet bag, he must be good, whan you consider the carpetbagger who was in before him, innit.
