Tantric Tuesday

908

After yesterday’s action-packed fast moving day in the political world that is Scottish football today has been Tantric Tuesday as Rangers administrators, Duff and Phelps, took their time and examined all areas in consultations with players over redundancies.  Gregg Wylde and Mervan Celik left the club early afternoon as the first hard consequences of years of abundant excesses manifested, leaving Duff and Phelps joint administrators locked in talks with the rest of the players.  No one can accuse them of not working for their £600 per hour per head.

I would like to be the first to congratulate Aberdeen on winning the treble in season 1992-93. An outstanding achievement.

    You are so right m8.

The amount of cheating must be a real shock to all Scottish football fans. Scotland had a very good League before Souness/Murray and their corruption took hold.

  2. Barrach Obampot don’t need no stinkin’ Rangers

Thanks for that. Oh dear, that’s up there with the guy pretending to be Kevin Keega calling Sven Goran Eriksson.

Surely this “invester” isn’t what the administrators were dragging their feet over, thinking they might be saved?

Regardless of what we might want and wish to happen to RFCIA, the final outcome is likely to be less than many of us feel they deserve. We can only enjoy the journey and keep up the pressure on those agencies that should have previously, and should now be doing their job, transparently. The SPL, SFA, SFL, UEFA, Stratchclyde Police, Scotland’s Charity Registrar, and Ghod Bless them Her Majesty’s Revenue.

Seems that an RFCIA that survived could be penalized with pionts deductions or similar, but not a Newco. Maybe someone who knows more about it can correct me or not on that.

Seems (according to Neil Doncaster on BBC tonight) that a Newco RFC could not be admitted to the SFL, since there is no provision within the Scottish game for such a development. In essence, this is the oblivion option that would face SPL clubs at the special meeting to consider any transference of RFCIA’s SPL place to a Newco. If the RFC Newco has only got the SPL as an option (copyright Neil Doncaster), then the other clubs might at the very least hesitate to reject that transfer.

Trophy and Title stripping could be applied to RFCIA whether they are liquidated or not, but that needs three seperate decisions, one each from the SPL, the SFA and the SFL.

Personally, it’s oblivion or bust for me, AND the stripping of all trophies and titles remotely won during the cheating years.

  6. Agent Craig “Green and” Whyte!!

    Thank you.

It sounds like Petrie is against them totally, hopefully he isn’t a FM though, he was always a hard negotiator for getting players from, although to be fair he was running his club well like Celtic have been, and I hope he stands firm.

It would be totally illogical for any club to vote for newco but certainly would be knuckle shuffling if Hibs voted yes.

    Interesting point!

Well that hour of BBC claptrap on how to rescue football ironically explained through it’s own existence the problem it was supposedly trying to solve.

I genuinely felt like laughing one minute and crying the next. Interspersed with extreme nausea at the sight and sound of Jabba….an utterly odious creature.

IMO, the main event is still to come, when UEFA are ‘forced’ to act (they will know precisely what is going on).

The SFA are in the x-hairs and there are probably quite a high proportion of ex SFA guys at UEFA.

    Theres a lot at stake.

  16. I wouldn’t be as confident as The Daily Mail. Apparently 7 of the highest paid players are holding out. Their love/loyalty for RFC (IA) will be tested when they are asked to sign new contracts worth £100k/£200k less in their bank accounts over the next 3 months.

Not over by a long shot.

As I understand it if the current rules apply, the team in the promotion position would be promoted with no relegation from the SPL thus leaving the SFL short of one team…why wouldn’t they allow a Newco to apply to join them when they let Annan Athletic in the last time.

    Doncaster’s argument is nonsense.
