Lots of credit to the USA and Switzerland, who bowed out of the World Cup in dramatic fashion yesterday, leaving four European and four Latin American teams fighting out for the spoils. I’m treating tabloid comment that the potential arrival of Craig is linked to Fraser Forster moving on as idle mischief. We need three keepers and usually have three, as do most top clubs.
So, a day after Luis Suarez issues a heartfelt mea culpa, Barcelona let it be known they are in talks with Liverpool over acquiring the player. He is without question one of the most gifted players of our time but the phrase “transparent charlatan” seems appropriate. Brand Barca is slowly slipping, with tax scams, directorial bungs and contrived contrition.
His actions caused enough dissonance on Merseyside to damage brand Liverpool, he’ll win Barcelona football games but stands a high probability of doing the same in Catalonia. The commitment to reform is meaningless, as he is not in a position to make good on it. Yet.

The 10-in-a-row CQN Charity Golf Day takes place at the magnificent Aberdour course on Friday. This year we will hear from Celtic legend, Frank McGarvey, and former Glasgow lawyer after dinner specialist, Len Murray.

So Celtic are back. Thank god for that……looking forward to the new season immensely!! Was a massive fan of NL and all he achieved while in charge of us. However, the change of management team is refreshing and has reenergised the support (and maybe some of the players!!).
RD is lucky to be coming in after NL. He has a promising squad with a good blend of youth and accomplished players. Absolutely delighted to hear he’s looking to bring in a new winger. Craig Gordon is a smart punt…..if he’s over his injuries we’ve won a watch!!
I posted yesterday that one of the most exciting things about the new season is seeing whether players like Watt, Pukki, Twardzik, McGregor, Henderson, Biton and Rogic can kick on and establish themselves as first team players!! Also keen to see if some of the younger first team players like Forrest, Matthews, Griffiths, Johansen and Van Diyk can improve even further.

A nortorious doctor was working with top sports people in Spain . A judge or court tried to supress the findings. Think its to with getting blood changed. Rumoured that many top spanish sports stars were involved. Andy Murray spoke out about it ,so maybe he suspects some of his tennis rivals were at it. Footballers??

Cowiebhoy – bit of a wee story there. Mrs Baldie had her gall bladder removed yesterday. On purpose and under medical supervision I should add! Got back home last night but a bit tender so thought I’d do the decent thing and let her have the bed to herself. I’ve slept on the sofa loads of times but never when sober – so been up since about 5.30! Must be lunchtime soon……

Funnily enough we’ve had another nat poster on here, Billy Boy, came out with the same line as you about Murray being annoyed/embarrassed by the reaction to Salmond waiving the saltire rather than by the fact that he’d actually done it.
What I find interesting about this story is how easy it is to disseminate a lie.
It’s easy enough to find out exactly what Andy Murray said about Salmond waiving his saltire.
Yet the nats prefer to peddle a lie. Either they’re too dumb to check out for themselves what Murray actually said, or they’re happy to try to mislead people.
Either way I wouldn’t buy a used car from a nat.
