I don’t know what the commercial value of our summer games against Barcelona, Leicester City and Inter Milan are, but those three games are sure to dwarf the earnings we make from domestic media and prize money for the whole of next season.
TV rights for English Premier League football from next season will average just above £7m per game, that’s for each of the 10 games on the weekly card – Sweet Georgia Brown! The actual value of these varies enormously: Watford v Bournemouth has practically no commercial value, all the real value is added by games between big clubs – even the likes of Newcastle, who are a poor team, but one which many colours of football fans still want to watch.
In a different environment, TV rights for Celtic games would be north of that £7m per game figure (the increased exposure would also geometrically improve commercial rights values). Think what we could do with that kind of money…….. more paper towels in the gents, maybe, the possibilities are limitless!
Our position is far from unique, there are a dozen or so European teams of similar size who have been marginalised from what was once a meritocratic game, so change must (always) remain on our agenda. But for now, we have to make what we can from our role as the Celtic Globetrotters.

Sid, I am not the one belittling anyone. I admire Auldheid and all those who care enough to get involved in trying to change things for the better. I have and will continue to contribute in assisting these efforts.
Where I deviate is when people are actively trying to encourage other Celtic Supporters to walk away.
This activity damages the Club I love and the beneficiaries are the Hun.
If someone feels they have to walk away I respect their decision but why oh why encourage others to walk.

Thats a bit of a leap…unable to beat Hamilton, Dundee etc, but we are going to be in the CL.
Cannot see it at all.
If we continue in the same manner, we will get annihilated by any half-decent Euro outfit.

There will be no amazing transformation, our squad is way below the required CL standard.

Almost 2000 additional tickets were sold. It went from half a stand to one sold out stand with a very vocal smaller section behind the other goal. Both roared Celtic on in the defining weekend of our 5 in a row season.
Some of us have at times been a little impatient with BRTH, Auldheid and the other guys re their patience in pursuing Res 12. Then BRTH appears and flags up a time bar peril, which the old fox knew was a possibility but in all likelihood compete nonsense.
I was pulling his leg about this last night incidentally. It was an old trick of the trade and it served him well.
Suddenly everyone is keen to bring Res 12 to a conclusion.
Don’t make the mistake of thinking the old fox only has the one trick.
And don’t forget that they are the SAME CLUB. I won’t.

Charliemac, Thank you for making a football post but regretfully I feel it is nonsensical. I & most Celtic fans like Ronny. His Nationality was never an issue.
The problem is that the team have been humiliated in Europe for the two seasons he was in charge. We are poor in many League games, yes we will probably still win the League but so we should. There is no sign whatever that he is improving us. No sign of superior fitness we were promised, the pressing game & playing football from the back has also ceased.
I wish the guy every success and am still hopeful that the Hearts game will be the start of a run of good displays but so far the results & performances have not been good enough.

It’s all about opinions but I wouldn’t say we were humiliated last season.
I know we were given a lifeline due to legia but being the only manager to take Celtic into Europe post Christmas in his first season for as long as I can remember is not a humiliation in my book.
