So how about this scenario, Celtic Youths are trailing in their league with 10 games to go when they register three new players, but someone’s ‘at it’. The players are all over-age but the date of birth on their registration forms have been incorrectly completed, so the players are registered and become eligible to play the remaining games. Celtic Youths win their remaining games and win the league.
At the end of the season the deception is uncovered. The people responsible for filling the forms out incorrectly are criticised but one is president of the Scottish Football Association, who give evidence to an inquiry that as the Association registered the players, the results must stand.
Time to “draw a line under it” is the line from the SFA chief executive, hoping with all his might that no one mentions the Scottish Youth Cup games the players also played in, which would invoke a parallel punishment to the one recently imposed on Spartans Youths for exactly the same offence in the same competition. The chief exec also dismisses attempts to call those criticised by the inquiry to account as scapegoating.
Ridiculous? Of course, but this is what we’ve just experienced, with another club, of course.
Challenging the verdict, if possible, is a worthwhile endeavour but it will only treat one symptom of the many issues facing Scottish Premier League clubs, who could be forgiven for losing the will to compete within the rules. Fans of several SPL clubs now believe their best interests are served by playing in an environment beyond Scotland – for a whole range of reasons.
We have to work with fans of other clubs to make the case for the SPL, as a unit, to leave Scottish football (I see cross-club initiatives are already underway).
On a completely unrelated question, if you had £21m in the bank late last year, and you were burning cash at £1m per month, which year would you run out of money?

FFM –
So I am not allowed an opinion on specific matters?
C’est la vie.
PFayr
I think someone posted that the SPL will not be appealling, suprise ,suprise .
Vmhan,
You are NEVER a scroll on by – an always read!!!
As usual, the humility of your character shines through !
(looked this out for you, amigo – feckin ad free ! – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H05XtXXVU7Q )
Tom
Where did I say that? On the contrary, my gripe with you is your dismissal of other points of view, when your previous posts support them. It makes your point of view, that you now hold dear, seem worthless. Surely a simple approach big fella? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8zM_9DFs5w
The appeal process could have been taken to ACAS
It is clear the SPL board did not wish to go that far, no doubt the maIn factors considered were costs, time taken, Sky TV opinion and a very hostile home based MSM, in addition no guarantee of success at ACAS
The real power is the pound in your pocket
Do you spend it at SFA games, with SKY TV, MSM outlets etc etc….. your hard earned, your choice who you support
Like the last 3 seasons its Celtic for me and only Celtic, easy logic
Looking back at the posts it seems there is no appeal, is that right?

FFM –
I honestly haven’t a clue what you’re on about.
I am happy to live with that ignorance.
Hail Hail
Doc is Neil Lennon : my thoughts and prayers are with you and your friends family!
If we can learn anything from grief it is to cherish time! All too often we say I’m sorry I just didn’t have the time but the reality is we just chose not to make the time! And we realise all too late to do anything about it!
HH
Tom,
Me too, such is the humility that might stop us trying to ridicule other posters without a decent argument.

morning cqn
wondering if i should boycott hampden on april 14th … if we win i will be convinced im the jinx ;)
Morning CQNer’s
Just dropped in to say…
I think that the SPL are not going to appeal the hun shafting everybody scenario because, they(SPL) already know that – it won’t be too long now until the huns are FINALLY liquidated, stadium crushed to a pile of asbestos dust etc….:o)))
Hopeful Dreamer – CSC
Nah, I think that the SPL are going to go down the route of – It’ll all blow over sooner than later route, no doubt being driven by oor toothless bored / board whose current expertise seems to be – Grassing-up the GB !!! imo
Oh, and btw…has anyone seen PL since the GB v’s The Cops issue a couple of weeks back ? Hmmmm
With his ‘report your mate or you get banned too ‘ I think old Chuckie might be getting his exit plan together. It’s not the first thing he’s said that’s made me think that either. He’s preparing the ground so that they’ll be glad to be rid of him and not care about the mess. Of course he’ll blame everybody under the sun for not allowing them to recover
Now someone tell me that Masonry doesn’t operate on fear.
Half of what I said in the last few hours is true. The other half was old-school masonry.
Never fails >:}

………..
Are you meeting up with the Leeds cyclists on March 16th?
Do you know where they are leaving from on the Saturday morning? Is it Wigan area??
lionroars67
I’m with you on that one. No more games at Hampden for me.
I wonder how the SC sponsors would feel seeing vast empty spaces at a Hampden semi final + possible Final?
I think that the Celtic support en masse should take a leaf from the huns book(yes I’am saying this) and, stop f#cking about – will we boycott ? will we not boycott ?
JUST F#CKIN DO IT !!!
The huns get dumped on and – they put the tools away !!! imo
The John Grieg era for example – p#sh team – empty the park – bring in the beast !!!
Simples
The Celtic support – waited until the huns were at 6 iar before they put the tools away and, boycotted ONE game v’s Killie ?!?!?
I know that there was the backdrop of, having to build a stadium etc..but my point is – Celtic fans take far too much sh#t before they react. The Hampden Riot apart :o)))

Morning,
Looks like another ref hand picked for Juve.
Inexperienced Turk Firat Aydinus
will referee Celtic’s Champions
League tie with Juventus
tomorrow night.
The 39-year-old from Istanbul was
given his first Champions League tie
earlier this season when he was in
charge of the Bayern Munich v
Valencia group match.
Aydinus is Turkey’s first full-time
referee and has been registered
with FIFA since 2006 and has quickly
made his way through the ranks
starting his top flight UEFA career as
an additional assistant in the
2009/2010 Europa League
campaign.
Sheeeeeeeyt……I think I’ll just shoot lard boy.
: > )

Any chance that you will be at the Aberdeen game?

good morning from a glorious berlin.
its even better knowing chuck is taking the wagon over the cliff like whyte before him. It must pain him to be losing a cool 1 mil a month. I see today they are questioning if sally is the man to take them to the CL. Well lets see when he has had a few good runs in the ramsden cup or even wins it. No wonder Chuck is using Sally and Sack in the same sentence. That dunderheid mccoist must surely realise that he is the worst manager the club based at sports direct areana have ever had.
its so funny scanning the scottish media and talks of signing daly. law etc on the day they announce such big losses. Its great they never learn.
Also Sally demands to know how much the Puma deal is really worth !!!
Don’t think Celtic would be so crass as to organise a boycott, but if supporters group were to push for it who knows?
What Celtic could do is show a beamback.

Unfortunately the glory hunters will gladden Ogilvies heart and save him from embarrassment………………….
Just as there is no way there will be a vote for independence, there is no way the SPL were going to appeal the LNS result…..
The MSM defended to a man Sevco supporters right not to attend cup tie away to D/dee UTD
Laugh at the response IF Celtic supporters exercise the same right
Celtic FC took an axe and gave the sfa/spl 40 whacks, when they seen what thhey had done they gave the deadco 41.
Time for PL to follow up on his surprise statement and challenge this no appeal guff.
We are the only super power in scotland why are we allowing this whitewash to carry.
Cut them down Celtic no more move along timmy shoite. Speak up and fight for justice, if you do your fans will back you to the hilt.

I shall not be attending the Hampden Semi…………..
This is not to be considered as Boycotting………….more to do with finding the facilities diabolical………….
For the last game against St Mirren our seats were behind the goals at low level……this necessitated standing the full game to view the match…..even then I found it difficult to follow the play……….sat during the H/T interval…..
Poke of chips n juice ower a five spot……..Ticket £15?

Morning all. Still dull but very still down here today.
Hoping to join the SPL fans united group today. We need to stand together against the cheats that permeate the SFA.

I don’t go to the games as much as I used to – gave my ST to my brother.
But, I would let it be known that the board / bored don’t speak for me when
they are condoning cheating. The Celtic hierarchy will take the fans money
but will not fight the fans corner.
Have the board /bored been influenced by – Regans take during the summer
where he said something about – A threat of public disorder re: the huns ?

It’s terrific isn’t it. You drag yourself out of bed before the cat gets home, to get an early flight to make the most of a day’s work, and fog closes the destination airport.
90 minutes delayed and counting.
On the topic of Celtic ‘appealing’ the SPL Commission decision, it’s a non-starter. Celtic have no standing to appeal on the grounds that they weren’t party to the original case.
The only parties permitted to appeal are the SPL, Rangers FC plc (defunct) and Rangers FC (ephermeral).
On balance, it looks to me that the SPL’s brief dropped the ball on some pivotal points, and with the SPL likely to be dissolved when/if the Leagues are reorganised in the summer, the SPL clubs will likely have no appetite for taking this any further.
The marked loss of faith in the Game expressed on this forum and elsewhere indicates that the lasting damage from this whole shameful saga will be measured most severely at those clubs who played by the rules and ran their affairs prudently.
The clubs that playerd the Game fairly it seems will be the ones to suffer the fallout.
Work that one out!
Googybhoy – we are staying overnight in Blackburn on the Friday.
Five days onfromthr LNS announcement and still feel sickened.
Initially by the punishment meted to them.
However my real disgust grows as I see how the rest of Scottish football has rolled over and had its tummy tickled.
The game, for me, is now a bogey and I genuinely feel I will not enter another Scottish football stadium – have strong doubts that I’ll even return to CP given our supine behaviour.
If only the rest of the game had the courage and guts of Neil Lennon.
