I know what you are thinking. With our two nearest rivals for the title facing each other tomorrow, there is a chance we can open daylight between them and us at the top of the table – if we manage to overcome Dundee.
Great, though this would be, I am less concerned about the threat from St Mirren. Motherwell, joint top on points with Celtic, are the more potent force to concern the champions. Their transformation since Stuart Kettlewell took over in October last year has been remarkable. It should surprise no one that they are the Premiership side most capable of pushing Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic.
We know better to over-expect from new signings. They arrive with a flurry of expectation, positivity and flattering YouTube moments. Getting to work on the park is always a challenge, though, even for the greats. Still, while we are still processing the injury to Liel Abada, we will be tempted to look to Yang and Marco Tilio to bring something fresh to the team in the months ahead. Hopefully we will see both at some point tomorrow. You will remember when Leigh Griffiths was injured early in Brendan’s first tenure. Newco were the next game and he was forced to play new signing Moussa Dembele in a game subsequently called the Derby Demolition.
A great opportunity has opened for someone.

I still don’t know what the sixth trophy was…

Good morning all from a very wet Garngad.
Well Kirky at the moment for a breakkie.
It sure is greed re CL ticket prices for weans but remember Liewell needs his bonus and the fat charlatans on our board need to keep their snouts in the Troff.
D :)
On the assumption that the Turkish transfer window closed last night without Jota signing for Fenerbache, then it looks like our former superstar won’t be kicking a ball until January. Al Ittihad played Luis Felipe last night and he has taken his place as the last foreigner in the squad.
Amazing how they can but a player for 25 million, put him on approx 200k a week and then decide to put him in cold storage. I wonder if Jota regrets leaving? Or is the money just too obscene that not playing football is a price worth paying?
I am sure in a few months he’ll be playing somewhere, even if it is on more moderate wages.
In the Hall of Fame of the football game
There’s a name that stands alone
It’s a Glasgow team and it reigns supreme
Where the game of football’s known
For they’re good men all and they’re on the ball,
And we know they don’t take long,
And the others fear when they hear us cheer,
As we sing the Celtic Song
C-E-L-T-I-C Celtic
I see Celtic on the ball
Each man ready true and steady
They will stand where all the others fall
Shout it proud like!
Shout it out aloud like!
Shout it in the crowd like
Anywhere at all
C-E-L-T-I-C Celtic
I see Celtic, Celtic on the ball
When the week’s works done and the game’s begun,
And as one we cheer the Bhoys,
To the victory that we hope to see,
Then you’ll hear a brave new noise,
It begins so low and it starts to grow,
‘Till it shakes the football ground,
Then the cheer rings out in the mighty shout,
Of a certain Celtic sound
C-E-L-T-I-C Celtic
I see Celtic on the ball
Each man ready true and steady
They will stand where all the others fall
Shout it proud like!
Shout it out aloud like!
Shout it in the crowd like
Anywhere at all
C-E-L-T-I-C Celtic
I see Celtic, Celtic on the ball
Through the football world there’s a challenge hurled,
And it says ‘come one, come all’,
For we’ll watch with pride as the Celtic side,
Has the answer to the call,
If the game is rough then the Bhoys are tough,
But the always play it clean,
For the game’s the thing and the song we ring,
Is a song of White and Green
C-E-L-T-I-C Celtic
I see Celtic on the ball
Each man ready true and steady
They will stand where all the others fall
Shout it proud like!
Shout it out aloud like!
Shout it in the crowd like
Anywhere at all
C-E-L-T-I-C Celtic
I see Celtic, Celtic on the ball
Good morning all from Govanhill. Meeting that rascal Prestonpans in the Oak later then onwards to Paradise. Gerrintaethum Celtic!!!!
BRRB & PRESTONPANS
Enjoy your day you two! por cierto
The season seems to be reasonably well advamced but a visit to Celtic Park still feels something of a rarity !
Leaving Arbroath in about half an hour to make my way to Glasgow where I hope to see things well done.
The injury problems make it difficult to properly assess our team at the moment but I`m hoping we soon get into a smooth, winning run.

…………..
I had that MATT McGinn Record for years.
Ive always believed that the SIXTH Trophy that Matt sings about is the DI STEPHANO Trophy that Celtic were awarded in Real Madrids stadium after beating REAL MADRID 1 – 0 shortly after Lisbon.
HH
Larkin 1907 – perhaps the sixth was the Quizball Trophy.
The saying in ‘67 was that Celtic lifted everything but the Tori Canyon.
Big Jimmy
Make that seven trophies then – what a game Jinky had that day
Great lift BIG JIMMY with your 50/1 shot.well done
Off to see a few Celts early today and onto the game.
Do your best Celtic, work for us and each other ,

Cheers mate.
Have a GREAT day oot watching the CELTS banging in a few Goals…Hopefully !
HH
The Glasgow cup surely.
Deniabhoy,
Jota was trying to get back to Celtic,on loan, desperate, were the words the Ittihad guy used.It was so drawn out that the move back was not possible, only Turkey left for him,but the Arabs stalled on that too.
We could get him back in January,if we wanted.Cost would be minimal for a loan. Then ,who knows.
Yes – the Glasgow Cup was one of the six
Quiz Ball was a running joke at the time, although we did have John Cairney and Jim Craig battering in ‘route one’ questions for fun.
Example of a route one goal – O’Relly to Kyogo – in the net😀
Good morning all from Alfredos.
Prestonpans
Less of your damned impertinence. Harrumph!!!!
Many a year has passed since I bought a football top for myself so big smiles today as I received the new anniversary hoops top.
I assume the team will never play in it due to it being sponsor/logo free but Adidas really should have made it the first team shirt. They would have broken all sales records.

liverpool getting the scantaloons ripped off them so far.
pace and power from wolves
thats the answer, too often teams – including us – have one or the other
we want both
I’ve been renovating an old house and I’m scunnered. So last minute decision, going to the game. Currently enjoying the Guinness in The Drover.
It’s excellent BTW.
Looking in on Wolves Liverpool
Klopp is without or has rested three key players.
The high energy bit is absent
Liverpool losing but have great individuals so could go on to win.
Right now though, they look ponderous.
Terrible watch.
wolves look terrific
loads of skill and pace
though they only have 3 points from their first 4 games so obviously more to their story
Huddle,
Brilliant attacking play from Wolves,Neto, unplayable, but finishing, woeful.Been their story for a good while.
Switching occasionally to Sky.Looks dire,but 1-0.
Awe Bugger.
Fourstonecoppi@9.36
Originally from the LP “The Holy Ground of Glasgow Celtic”?
Still got it in my collection almost 60 years after I got it.
Just saw the injury to Danilo. Wouldn’t wish that on anyone. Looks a bad one. Similar to Cal Macs a while back.
I’ve worked out Bealeball. It’s basically trying to bore everyone into submission and pounce when they fall asleep. Brutal to watch.
Beale said they’d come back stronger. Seen nothing to suggest that.
Anyway, Mon the Hoops.
