Yesterday’s Sunday Mail exposé on attempts by the SPFL to change the balance of power within the SFA in favour of the professional clubs, while changing their bowling club committee-approach to running the game, was worthy of some merit but clearly the result of an SFA leak designed to undermine the proposed changes.
Any organisation which has a built-in requirement for office-bearers to have enough spare time on their hands in the years before nomination to attend mind-numbingly boring committee meetings is set on a path for mediocrity. Only those not busy enough with real world issues and challenges will qualify, meaning your best talent is never eligible, which is why we end up with a president like Campbell Ogilvie, who met the mediocre standards and is kept there by equally able under-achievers.
The Sunday Mail try to make out that the proposed move is a grab for cash, although they also explain why this cannot really be the case. It’s not a grab for cash, it’s not a subversive plot by Premiership clubs, it is an acknowledgement by the professional clubs that the systems of governance and administration in the game is inept and that they do not currently have the control to change things.
Our game needs deliverance from the bowling club committee.

CowieBhoy, self preservation is the biggest factor in not going on Sunday.
If Mrs Doc didn’t get me the twins would.
and told all the people who liked the dug, that it was the same dug,
and they kinda believed it, just cos it wore the same collar and coat.
but now the new dug is dying , like the auld dug.
i might need to let it go early.
dugs.

Tell everyone who likes yer new dug that it needs a fortune spent at the vet,or it’s history.
They pony up the money, you pocket the cash and let them have the deid dug.

can I join your rescued dug club? Mine is a pedigree German Shepherd, a wee gem at 44 kilos, got several social problems but we are working on him, he’s spent all of his 4 years as a “house dog”. He barks too much, not good with other dogs, was impossible to walk , but hey we’re getting there slowly. And – – – he’s beautiful, and worth the effort!
I can almost join the club, mine is retired not rescued but almost everyone I meet asks me, “is he a rescued greyhound”, four months in the house after 4 years in a kennel, the only issue being other dogs, anything that’s not a greyhound is not a dog to him, small dogs are just rabbits on leads
Thunder road…..
Libya,Egypt,Iran and even Israel do not like the sign of the cross these days……Turkey getting that way too recently……
The more things change…..The more they stay the same.

SannaBhoy, I had hear tell of the ole Gazebo, but when I went looking for it I could never find it.
Doc , it’s a cross between shangri-la and the crock of £$%$ gold at the end of the rainbow . It only appears once in a 100 years after a rain shower , or when oldco pay their taxes , whichever happens first.

SannaBhoy, I know when it can be found then because one of those is total fantasy, the other gets you wet!
Nite all….
One last thought before I go upstairs for the night…..
Before you insult a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you insult him, you’ll be a mile away, and have his shoes.
I hate nightshifts.

I am, in my ignorance kinda surprised that those nations you mentioned would have a problem.
Maybe….well….there is no maybe…..i am a bit naive and i thought that other nations/people that had strong beliefs would also be understanding towards other peoples.
It is actually quite scary how naive i am!

“rabbits on a lead”, Loved it! LOL
Mine has a wee problem with wee white dogs, lhasas, Bichons and the like, thinks they are McDonald treats on 4 legs.! He got sorted on Jura with my son’s choc lab bitch, a great senior gun dog, although only half his size she bullied him no bother, an amazing sight as he picks a fight with the local Akita twice his size. Oh, he decided to round up the wild goats on Jura, worked well for a minute then the four of them ganged up on him, good job he’s a sprinter!
Just gotta love them!

Guys, your posts are very emotive.

Your shepherd will serve you well, believe me. They are the most protective breed, towards their masters on the planet. I know, I’ve had 3. I really don’t want to start an animal debate on here tonight, because we all have out personal favourites or total dislike for any animals. I will add, one of the most mild dogs I ever owned, was a retired greyhound, kennel name, Glenroe Swan, we got her at 5 years old and was the most placid animal we have ever known. She nursed a severely injured kitten (road injured stray) back to full health. But would still use a muzzle till it gets used to it’s surroundings.
Right, off to do lamb checks then cot time. Night Night Timland. :-)))

You’re right.
We use the word “Hate” too easily, without thinking what the word really means. I think most of the time we dislike intensely????

Careful now,……:-)) No more than yourself. We are massive animal lovers and supporters, so your appreciation is very well, er, appreciated. Thanks bud and hopefully meet you at our beloved CP some time in the future. Now that would be an absolute treat. Howzat. :-)))
