Good luck to the Development Squad for their Uefa Youth League one-off cup tie against Valencia this evening. A win would see Celtic proceed to the quarter final – no mean feat when you consider the way some bigger league clubs harvest scores of youth players from across the globe.
Kick-off is 5pm, if you can get to Celtic Park. It’s not THE Champions League, but it’s an important metric we should follow.

Enjoyed the game tonight although it ended in disappointment for the Celts. I hope some of the squad will have another chance to experience this competition next season.
The club web-site tells the story of us having two chances to win the shoot-out, unfortunately, we had three. Before young McIlduff took the fifth kick, our goalkeeper Hazard, who had a fine match, could have won the tie by saving Valencia’s fifth kick. Those three chances to win arrived within a run of four kicks in a row.
A tough loss but a good night to be a Celt.

Delaney’s , In the bbc updates page for the County game, they said Marcus did not do to well at Hearts’ second or third goal.
From what I have saw of County since Marcus moved there, he has been one of their better players.

Similar to rugby union the ball was thrown in two handed above the head, and as with rugby however it had to be thrown 90 degrees. I assume the idea was that the advantage lay with the team who had 11 men on the park.
*When I was coaching I always told the young lads that if they had to put the ball out of play make it the touchline and not the by line as a shy IMHO always leaves the team that receives it a man short, the thrower, as such no real advantage to the team who has the ball.
I firmly believe the shy should be no different than a corner and replaced with a free kick.
Gearóid: Good shout re Róisín Shortall. It will be interesting to see how she gets on. My constituency is next to hers, five seats. I reckon Richard Bruton (Fine Gael) and Finian McGrath (Ind) are shoe ins. Denise Mitchell (SF) Tommy Broughan (Ind, formerly Labour) will be amongst main contenders for last three seats.
I think Labour will be annihilated in Dublin so it will be interesting to see how Sinn Féin, Anti-Austirity Alliance, People Befofe Profit get on. It would be great to se a United Left as opposed to a ‘principled’ left or splintered left.

If that was the case then you think he might have made it clear.
Because otherwise he could be accused of being cowardly and deceitful in letting people think he had gone to his death a committed Marxist revolutionary.
I think a more rational and plausible view is that he reached an accommodation between his Catholic faith and his Marxist politics. I doubt he was the first and he certainly wasn’t the last to do so.

Hamiltontim, I watched Tommy Coyne when he played for Clydebank, he was the same there.
I did grow to like him when he played for us. He improved as a player , working harder and showing more football intelligence on the pitch.
Also, his scoring a couple of goals against the now defunct club helped me change my opinion of him.
