van Dijk signs four year deal

1571

Absolutely delighted at the arrival of Dutch under-21 international central defender, Virgil van Dijk, on a four year deal.  A central defender was one of three priorities for this summer and we have secured our first choice target.

The signing will also give a boost to the squad, and a timely reminder to all that amidst talk of player potentially leaving ‘at the right price’, the Celtic Story is one of progress.

Celtic had the tallest team in the Champions League last season.  They were also top scorers from headed goals in the competition until Bayern Munich caught them in the semi-finals.  With the addition of two 6’4” players (van Dijk and Balde) we look to be consolidating our strengths.

Welcome to Celtic, Virgil.

Last call for tonight’s special Lions Roar event.  Watch the 1967 European Cup final on big screens in the Kerrydale Suite followed by a Q&A with the men who made history (including Willie Wallace, Heart of a Lion available below).  See you there.

I’m sure Awe naw wasn’t meaning Canamalar was wasting his time – But merely that a respose from the board may not be forthcoming.

I am sure he thinks likewise.

If there is anything he wants me to do and deels I can help. He can ask me he has my email address. The last I read BRTH was going to help formulate it. TBB also gave him good advice but Canamalar has obviously thought it through.

I will give you 5.1 he does not get the floor

and if he does it will be a fobbed off question ? That he needs to ask it in the first place in the name of assurance and transparency. Shows us exactly where we are ?

Can I ask you what are you doing ?

How are you directly supporting him ?

“How are you directly supporting him ?”

Not at all. I was under the impression that I would have to be a shareholder to support him directly. Is that not the case?

Can I ask you: What difference does my support (or non-support) make to my post suggesting that your post was less than encouraging?

I need shareholders with over £100 worth of shares

I need their name, address and share number

We will agree on the wording of the resolution and sign it

We will issue it and await a response then take it from there

We have until 6 weeks before the AGM

As yet the date has not been announced

Last years the AGM was 16th November

I was advised to plan for a September AGM

  11. Oh and one wee point I was advised about, if you have moved address you will need to register the new address as the CST had a few problems with this in the past where the board discounted shareholders who had not registered the address change.

Welcome to Celtic Park Virgil, you have made the right move!

Certainly a fair bit of height in the first team squad now, but no room for the Paddy McCourts of this world.com which is a pity. Hope it is not too much to ask for a wee bit more creativity across the midfield, not too much to ask for an Auld or a Murdoch, a Collins (Bobby or John) or McStay, or even a Bremner or a Giles. Dylan, there is a place for you in there somewhere!

  14. canamalar, Have’nt seen my Share Cert for years, good reason to have a search. I’ve been on Hols and am not sure what exactly you are proposing. I’m sure you may have already done this, but could you do a re-hash of your idea, and if there a contact e-mail for names/addresses/Share Cert No you might let us know what it is.

forgive my intrusion, but, would your good self and other shareholders not be better collaborating with JF and the trust as it seems she always gets the chair at the AGMs,asking her to ask the pertinent questions on the entire supports behalf, again sorry to stick my nose in..

  16. Awe_Naw…,

    Can’t find your address,

Currently I’ve got 12 who have supplied the info requested so far

Mostly lurkers who don’t post but pleasantly surprised by some of the posters who have responded.

Had many who have said I’ve got their full backing but not given details yet, so after the initial flurry it’s slowing down, I’ll keep plugging away though and hopefully we’ll get there.

I expect we’ll need quite a few more than the 100 as I expect there will Tim wasters hun lurkers and plants to try and derail us, I also expect some might pull out cause they don’t like the words.

But nothing ventured and all that drivel

Also been on the case to the ASA. Have you received a letter from Sir Hayden yet?

Also confirm that despite Sevco submissions to ASA and subsequent gloating on their website that their same club status was backed by “the panel at the London Stock Exchange” – that this is lies and the Stock Exchange have forced them to withdraw the claim. Sir Hayden has been made aware of this.

Finally we have submitted a detailed explanation on UEFA rules.

Need to advise him re Derry City.

Off oot to see some Lions and in particular say cheerio to Willie Wallace as he heads home to Australia soon.

  25. Masty..,

I’ve been in touch with the trust and they have kindly advised me on how to get started, also how hard it is to get anyone interested I’m told getting 100 backers is the biggest problem they also suffer from apathy.

The Trust have their own agenda that they are concentrating on and that is fair enough, they need to keep chipping away, it’s no fair to ask them to drop everything to help us, if we can’t get 100 then that’s our tough luck but I expect us to achieve it even if it is a struggle.

Obviously as problems arise I will be back in touch with them for advice and hopefully they will be as helpful as they have been to date, for now we need to concentrate on getting the 100 and the wording sorted
