When we lost 1-0 at Ibrox earlier in the season play was focussed on Odsonne Edouard until he was replaced by Ismaila Soro (yes, really) and Kyogo moved into the central position for the final 23 minutes. Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota had yet to join the club, we didn’t have a fit left back and two of the starting line-up knew they were on their last outing in green and white hoops.
Despite this, and playing before an exclusively home crowd, Celtic enjoyed 66% possession and Edouard missed a chance that he hoped Crystal Palace did not see.
Only four of those who started for Celtic are likely to do so again on Sunday: Hart, Starfelt, Juranovic and McGregor. Beyond those who start, we have options on the bench who can change the game if necessary. Last time, as well as Soro, Ange Postecoglou brought on Tom Rogic, who remains in contention, and Adam Montgomery. Resources were chronically weak by comparison.
We will bring a new and vastly improved team to Ibrox, one that has overcome the points deficit we left the ground carrying in August and can effectively secure the second trophy of the season on Sunday.
None of this is conjecture. Whatever the merits of Celtic as they dominated possession and lost in August, the scale of transformation since is beyond any of the hopes we had back then. Recent form does not guarantee results, but we can draw confidence from it ahead of Sunday.

Get to the bookies coneybhoy
I think we’ve got very lucky with the huns cancelling the Oz game. We get our dosh while they face another court case.
More importantly we’ve avoided headlines about ‘old firm’ fans fighting in Sydney. Let’s hope lessons have been taken on board. Stay well clear of them because we’ll be tarnished with the same brush as the rioters of Manchester & Barcelona should we ever be foolish enough to do this again.
Watched the February game against the huns last night, would be tempted to play the exact same team. Keep Maeda for the last 30 minutes, let Abada tire them out and move Jota to the right or bring JF on if fit.
I don’t beleive we will see Kyogo. HH 🍀
BIG WAVY on 1ST APRIL 2022 10:21 AM
Trawling through the old Twittersphere last night it was mentioned that big Tam Rogic was spotted in training through another players’ instagram account.
Massively good news. I would prefer O’Riley to start but would have no complaints if the big wizard took to the field for the first 60. They are terrified of him and more likely to score than the great Dane.
Great choices csc.

I’ve been surprised to read and hear almost all the Celtic stats men come down firmly in favour of O’Riley starting over Tam.
Apparently, it’s a no brainer. O’Riley should start.

Totally agree. We allowed ourselves to be linked with them.
Any “issues” over there would lead to and further endorse both cheeks of the same arse stuff.
Lucky escape and they look like total fannies again….win win…

Totally agree AD,have no association with them whatsoever.
The Sydney Cup will join the litigation in-tray imo.
And let it be a future lesson to Celtic to keep toxicity at a distance.

Or my therapist
Maybe the board played a blinder, assuming Huns would never accept a no “old firm” billing…..
Surely not…
Who’d have thunk it? The PLC setting up the Huns, knowing they would eventually have to pull out., due to being the supporting act and held to ransom by their supporters. Some clever people on the PLC board eh? :)))
However with ST sales they just couldn’t take the chance of poor sales, but, and it’s a massive but, they have left themselves exposed to all sorts of fan behaviour now when the hordes don’t get their way, or, want The Rangers to move in a direction that the board don’t, por cierto
.
It now shows us though, that the Old Firm is alive and well inside the PLC boardroom, of that there can no longer be any doubt, por cierto.
I can’t be the only one who misses the days when grown men would come on here complaining about how the blog isn’t as good as it used to be.
😀
Unionist says snp marches are anti English
On a par with orange order racist scum that still walks past our chapels
Hahahagagahaha
Yeh Tam your not a unionist
The big Cult owns your confused ass
Now play us a phone wind up from youtube
Not the political ones, the fitba ones
Bognorbhoy,
I agree with whoever mentioned it the other day – Tom McL? – your “on this day” posts are a great addition to the site 👍🏼
Popping in for a moment, re Aus game, said at the announcement invite a Greek team, 10s of thousands probably hundreds of thousands in Melbourne, highest Greek population density outside Athens worldwide.
Print off ‘Cellic taps’ with Postecoglou on the back, sell out stadiums 3 times over….printing money.
Sunday? Attack, press, the same as ever. Play like champions with style and flair 0-3 or 1-3 😁🍀
Please be safe if going !
Coneybhoy,
I’m still trying to process you calling Depeche Mode the best band in the world ever 😀
What’s their best album?
If Koyogo and TR on the bench This will be the first game at the bigot dome for some years that a celtic manager has had probably his full squad to pick his starting line up.
So excited about our 6 forward players that could take up the starting 3.
Same as number 10 playmaker TR . DT and Matty bhoy all fighting for that jersey.
Step back 1 and we have Cal, Hatate, iddegicchi, Bitton and MCarthy fighting for 2 slots.
In defence we have subs in Ralston and Julienne waiting to take a back 4 slot.
Bring it on
It’s what we do.
COYBIG
D :)
I like Iddegucci saying he wants to play his part in the run in.
I love that, maybe not Sunday but certainly we will need willing players for the run in.

Let’s hope we don’t let the goings on at Ibrox distract us .

——–
Before I start, musical taste is subjective – i got in a rammy online recently over the Beatles and almost in reality with workmate years ago. Both times they would not allow me to have an opinion – i was just wrong😎
Argument 1 for DM:
1. They have been going since they were kids and have developed their sound and experimented whilst still being able to sell a lot of records. Very clever
2. In the Rock n Roll hall of fame despite being labelled as just synth pop for years
3. Brilliant live – and have introduced touring members expertly. Full drum set is key to the live gigs
4. brought more conventional instruments in gradually and experimented with industrial samples when no-one else was doing it
5. Song writing developed through the 80s and they have written some classic emotional lyrics
6. Hard to pick a best album but the accepted peak was the trilogy of Black Celebration, Music for the Masses and Violator between 1986 and 1990. My personal favourite is Black Celebration
7. amazing style, videos and sleeve artwork too
Name Depeche modes first single?
A keyboard player from orig line up played with another 2 bands name them ?
