We might begin looking like a team on Saturday

852

I’m sure Ronny Deila has used the international break to take in as many scouting games as possible, but he’ll be keen to see his players return to Lennoxtown, fit and available for selection.

Adam Matthews spoke to Celtic media on possibly returning for Saturday’s game against Ross County.  Having not played since August he’ll be well short of match fitness but his presence is badly needed.  We have a must-win Europa League game against Astra next week, with the shape of the team looking so haphazard at the moment it’s crucial we get a benefit of a recognised right back.  Adam needs an hour on Saturday.

Now that central mid is looking solid with Brown and Johansen, the addition of Matthews and McGregor will benefit the right, while allowing Mubarak to fit into his more natural position on the left.  We might begin looking like a team.  Adam also has the engine to play the football Ronny is keen on.

The only question remains how to get our Europa League-eligible strikers looking the part – and that’s not a suggestion to drop John Guidetti on Saturday!

The point is…the diedhuns could attract 31k for their

    lower division game v’s Hibs.

Celtic got what, 28k for a EUROPA LEAGUE game.

If that disny concern ye then, no wonder apathy rules the day.

In the games Scepovic has started, he has had only two chances in the box, one against the Dons & one against the Mothers. Both were on target although he was offside v the Dons and should have scored the header v the Mothers.

He was in the the box which is what we need and once he gets one, I’m certain more will follow.

I’m sure he will score too once our players pass to him……………………..

On a serious note, the attendances is all money related, the cost of football is far too expensive, and people will reconsider as they are now if they think its too expensive and they are getting little in return.

Didn’t really know much about Bob Marley till after he’d passed.

What I would have given to have heard him live in concert.

Ever wondered what he’d be saying about the world today of he’d lived?

In the same way that Beethoven initially composed tooons to honour napoleon then later to condemn him, I’m sure that Bob would have brought up Zimbabwe the Sequel for example.

So I’ll bid you well till then.

  5. The Scottish BBC news mentioned the research into the cost of football tickets. It said the cheapest season ticket here was Peterhead @ £90, while you could pay UP TO (my capitals) £600 @ Celtic Park. Why didn’t they mention our cheapest ticket, if that is what they were comparing??? Naw; doesn’t suit their agenda, of always doing us down.

Quick postscript. The wee Mhan plays at alloa’s ground on Saturday mornings.

    Great wee set up.

But noticed on the wall it’s £18 to see alloa play.

Problem is that life’s expensive and incomes are shrinking. For most fans and clubs alike.

Thanks for your input and thanks to all that responded…………HH

True, but big Pete’s Rory Bremner jibe at the AGM made up for that.

    Didn’t it??

  9. I posted the clip from the Rugby League at the weekend where your man basically committed GBH.

He has got a 10 match ban which is nothing when you consider what Suarez got.

The funny thing is that we have a Wigan fan in the office who is a good bloke but is completely myopic when it comes to this incident. Maybe because losing to St helens for them is like us losing to FC Dead Club.

The term he uses for them is ‘Plastic Scousers’.

  10. Kevjungle at 10:08

Yeah, ‘cos that Neil Lennon was such a coward, eh?

    Ridiculous post.

  11. Kevjungle – it’s a poor comparison but since you make it, you need to factor in the things like KO times, the relative importance of the game etc.

Given that Hibs are one of the two biggest teams they’ll face in that league, it might be more accurate to compare that fixture with our home game to Aberdeen, which pulled 43,640.

You also need to factor in that they’re in a genuinely competitive league (whcih our may end up being) so there’s no sense of attendance being inconsequential.

  12. Kevjungle

Words fail you because you didn’t pick up the sarcasm in the post.

That’s my fault for not getting my point over, maybe.

Of course it didn’t make up for the description of that Glasgow cup tie on the website.

And nobody is saying that that won’t be a defining issue possibly next season.

I never said that Neil was a coward, did I?

Neil was not a coward but…he was PL’s

puppet manager, or he widny have been there.

Since PL started his managerial puppet-show

It’s Celtic who have been in freefall. imho

If I’m wrong – why have half the support disappeared?

  14. Petethebeat,

Flowers ban is technically 6 months which is longer than Suarez. It’s also more than 10 games.

Suarez has already played for club and country. Some bliddy ban.

  15. KevJungle

Isn’t the Ronny Deila stuff getting a bit old now?

Its a prob for many on here that Deila a supposed number two was made number one choice, but then you’ve suggested that John Collins our current number two to be our Manager if Deila gets booted?

Kev you write some daft crap on here!

You waffle on (I’m not perfect) but some of the shite you put on here is bordering on the retarded.

  16. Kevjungle

According to you, M O’N was the last person with any cojones at Celtic Park.

That implies that Neil Lennon didn’t have any guts.

A man who faced daily death threats, and was assaulted in front if thousands at his work.

You’ve qualified what you said now, but your original post could not go unchallenged.

Let us not forget 6 1 to legia

Fault at PL door and his muppet scout Park ( two 1st regulars from 20 signings ) AGM soon and wonderfull financial results and bonus for PL

PL kept the lid on vics cash in biscuit tin , while we were crying out for a goalscorer for CL. Only reason it was not released was it was being kept for PL pension pot

Home crowds less than before the rebels have won now

Strange for a tough guy, and he is tough.

DD questioned MO’N about why he was buying Chris Sutton – MO’N told him to remember who was the football manager.

Ye see, WGS left but, before he went….he recommended big Mark McGhee to replace him. I thik big MM would have done better than BTM.

Thing is…big MM isny a puppet – BTM is.

    Puppet managers are PISH. imho

  22. KevJungle

Puppet managers as you put it get jobs and keep them, biting the hand that feeds springs to mind.

Power comes with success over time, it isn’t instant, Managers will always tow the line of upper management.

Flower got banned for 6 months when the season is basically over.

Suarez missed out on the WC knockout stages which must have been a huge blow plus 10 or so games this season.

The former could really have caused brain damage or whatever to his opponent whilst the latter left just a graze.

  26. Kev. What fans have to realise is the cash cow Celtic fc is to PL

PL is maybe looking at retiring in a few years. The most important thing for him is not bums on seats or CL or trophies , but cost reduction and increasing bonus for his pension plan

His income is going up and up and crowds are going down and down ( profits up as cost base down due to lack of class players salaries ). He does not care

We laff at Ashley and deid club

If Ashley buys them he just has to spend a positive 5-6m to improve them against us who have spent -10m last year and -8m this year
