I’m sure Ronny Deila has used the international break to take in as many scouting games as possible, but he’ll be keen to see his players return to Lennoxtown, fit and available for selection.
Adam Matthews spoke to Celtic media on possibly returning for Saturday’s game against Ross County. Having not played since August he’ll be well short of match fitness but his presence is badly needed. We have a must-win Europa League game against Astra next week, with the shape of the team looking so haphazard at the moment it’s crucial we get a benefit of a recognised right back. Adam needs an hour on Saturday.
Now that central mid is looking solid with Brown and Johansen, the addition of Matthews and McGregor will benefit the right, while allowing Mubarak to fit into his more natural position on the left. We might begin looking like a team. Adam also has the engine to play the football Ronny is keen on.
The only question remains how to get our Europa League-eligible strikers looking the part – and that’s not a suggestion to drop John Guidetti on Saturday!

That’s not quite correct. Their current squad as it is is losing them circa £8.5M/year (maybe more). That will not be entirely mitigated by increased prices and attendances when they get back into the Premiership.
So you’ve got to factor in a starting point of losing up to £2-5M before adding transfer fees and increased costs associated with better quality players.
It will certianly not be as little investment as £5-6M to be competitive with us.

Do you have any sources to what you suggest anything credible?
I think its more a matter of employing people who are right for the job, football acumen? what does that even mean? to me it suggests spending money. you? So in my opinion why would he employ those people. The manager also has the football acumen and the backroom team.
You many have a point about standing up to certain things and the club being silent, but the club isn’t a mouthpiece for you and me or anyone, the best that can be done is get on with the job in hand, why would you want Celtic to be drawn on all things?
I genuinely think that as much as we laugh at sevco and say Craig Whyte is secretly a Celtic man tongue in cheek, many would seriously think Peter Lawell is a Rangers man getting his own back on Celtic. Mental stuff.
